  1. Very much so, I'm already a Hilton Gold VIP so I'm looking forward to all the perks (you still get them even though its on PL)
  2. Started with $80 and added $5/bid until reached $120. Confirmed with hotel to be a standard guest room (25m2).
  3. Originally bid $70/night. Added zones by $5 until reached $80. Reservation was confirmed with a King Guestroom ***It was City Centre North
  4. Great price...if you aren't a SPG member yet, join before you go and call ahead and have it added to your reservation. You won't get any points, but it almost guarantees you an upgrade at that property (in our experience)
  5. Holiday Inn Near Wake Forest University 3 star North Winston Salem 5790 University Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27105 Bid - $35.00 + $5/n bonus Total - $102.48
  6. We intend to spend a day in the Arecibo area, a day at el yunque, and a day in the ponce area. A couple days in san juan, and a couple of days on the resort.
  7. Either one would probably be okay. The Intercontinental would be nice, but I don't know if it's worth the extra $$. The free breakfast and everything is a big perk at Embassy. The Conrad could be hit or miss. I think that with the perks of having my gold hhonors membership and also having hertz in the hotel is nice (im a hertz gold member, too). Has anyone remarked about the location of the Conrad? I'm trying to decide too if I actually want to be IN San Juan. There's no doubt we are going to be doing some driving around the island, so I am trying to decide if it is more of a hassle to drive IN to San Juan a couple of days or driving OUT of San Juan every day.
  8. Sorry I meant it is 12/18-12/25. My budget is somewhat flexible. I would say it would have to be less than our current reservation at the Embassy Suites (Dorado) for $1040 after tax (so ~150/nt after tax). After looking at some of the reviews the San Juan (Waldorf) would be a place to avoid, other than that I would be comfortable winning any of the others (especially the Conrad, we get a guaranteed upgrade because of our Hilton HHonors status).
  9. Sorry I forgot all about the Charlotte post I made. Followed up. Still planning the Puerto Rico getaway! :) Right now I have the Embassy Suites outside of town reserved for $1040 (refundable) for the week after taxes, but trying to decide what the best deal/place to be would be. I know the benefit to Embassy is the great breakfast, but I am not sure if Embassy is as nice as we want!
  10. I really wanted the Westin, so I decided to go with their online rate instead. They have last minute weekend specials if you book Thursday or Friday. We received a corner suite for $149 after tax.
  11. Does bidding 4star in this zone pretty much guarantee you La Concha? We would just bid on the resort but there a couple of resorts on the list that disturb me a little bit, like the San Juan Hotel or the Conrad, some pretty disturbing reviews on those. Thanks Thomas
  12. Used your checker for Charlotte uptown-city center zone for July 4 weekend. The 4 star option for that zone is $85 Amenities: Restaurant High Speed Access I can't figure out why there are only two amenities. I haven't seen that before.
  13. Bidding several times over several days, but ended up with a pretty good deal, a savings of about $100 per ticket The original 'rack rate' was $690, and my original bid was $415 to see if I really could get 40% off That was of course declined, and countered with $627 I countered many times from 500,510,520,530,540,550 and the lowest counter offer I got was $609 As I was beginning to buckly and accept the counter offer, I bidded $588 and it was accepted. So here are some details. Going from RDU - LHR it was non-stop on a Boeing 767 From LHR - RDU there was one stop in Chicago O'Hare for 4.5 hours, so that's the only downside on a Boeing 777 and a Boeing 737 Hope this helps anyone who may need the info, this was my first bid on flights that ended with success, but basically ended up saving $100, so pretty good value, also AA will allow you to get miles for priceline purchases. let me know if you have any questions.
  14. Bidding for this weekend in Philadelphia seemed particularly difficult. At first started with 10/8-10/10 with 4* with no success, with bids up to $100, moved down to 3.5* with bids up to $85 (no success), then moved down to 3* bidding up to $75, still no success. Dropped the Saturday night stay and my bid was accepted at the Warwick for $70, priceline offered to extend the stay for the same price, but was unable to. Philadelphia (Downtown) Radisson Warwick Bid: $70 Tax: 17.85 Total: $87.85
  15. First bid accepted for a 4star at PHL. Renaissance Philadelphia Airport 10/09/10-10/10/10 Bid-$60 Taxes-$16.25 Total-$76.25
  16. I tried several bids on PRICELINE with no luck 5/15-19 on my budget, which was basically anything somewhat nice for $100 or less. Couldn't even get anything nice in Jersey City. SO I did something I haven't done in at least two years...booked on a different site. Country Inn and Suites offered $99/night in a King Room with complementary internet and breakfast, which is rare in most cases. So, i guess I won this time...the location isn't IDEAL, but it is 1 block from a subway stop and is close to the airport. Fully Refundable too, which is always a plus. Reviews are also VERY high. $450 after taxes
  17. $33 first bid accepted. $45 after tax/fees. Wyndham Raleigh Durham Hotel Miami Blvd. Durham, NC 3 Star - Pet Friendly - Restaurants on Site
  18. The Holiday Inn at Crabtree is okay. It's similar to the Brownstone downtown in my opinion. Probably merits 2.5* especially when compared to the Homewood, Marriott, or Embassy located nearby. I think the 3.5* is Homewood at Crabtree.
  19. The Brownstone is an "okay" hotel. I wouldn't rate it 3*. Most likely a 2.5* in my book. Original Bid - $35 - accpted 1st try.
  20. Stayed at Hilton North Raleigh in the Raleigh Zone. Bid was $50. Lower bids were not accepted.
