  1. Was looking for 3.5 star or better property and wanted to stay in the North end. Limited my search to Galleria, Park Central and Richardson zones. Knew I had 8 re-bids available that all had properties of 3 star or less available. Have seen wins in the 33 dollar range so started my bidding there. Worked my way through the 4 star options (3 bids declined) then went to 3.5 star (3 more bids rejected). Went up 1 dollar with each bid. Used two free re-bids and got a winner at $42.00.

Pleased with this property or any other that may have been a winner at 3.5 or above in the defined zones. Thanks for all of you out there that post your wins and use the PRICELINE link! Winner-winner!

  2. Needed a two hotel rooms for early AM departure on the 23rd. Started bidding at 50, went in five dollar increments using four free- rebids and accepted at 70.00. Had one re-bid left, but would not have gone to 75.

Red Lion is not a high end 3*, but I'm hoping better than my last 3* win at the Holiday Inn Sea-tac (ewwww).

As always, used the PRICELINE link at the top of the page.

    Rock on!

  3. Got the 3* Holiday Inn (SEATAC) for $49.00. Was hoping and assumed Hilton, Double Treee or Raddison Gateway based off of recent wins on this board. I'm a local and this is pretty run down, property to be a 3*, but for 49 for an early AM flight on the 22nd, still a good deal. Started at 41 and used four free re-bids 43, 45, 47 and finally the winner at 49.

Thanks to everyone that continues to post wins..it certainly does help (most of the time)...but, that's the chance you take with Priceline! :)

  4. Here is one final update...I tried and tried and tried to get a 4* in New Orleans for less than 100.00 for the previous mentioned dates..I would be 15-20 total attempts...Just not my luck on this one.

Ended up after a few nice emails with the folks at my backup hotel, The Omni Royan Crescent, I have been upgraded to a suite.....I guess it all worked out in the long run.

    Happy bidding!

  5. Still no luck in my quest for a 4* hotel in NO from 2/20-22.

Today I started bidding significantly lower than I have in the past, having seen recent wins in the same time period and lower price.

    First bid $40.00 CBD Rejected

2nd 42 with Conv add rejected

3rd 44 with FQ add rejected

4-8th bids were at $2.00 increments up to $54.00, using the free-rebid plan as only the CBC, CV and FQ have 4* Properties.

    I'll keep you posted :)

  6. Congratulations, you got your price of $44 for a 3-star hotel room.

  7. Greetings,

I will be travling to New Orleans Feb 20-22 and am looking for a *4 star hotel..I have been bidding for some time but never more than $90.00 and utilizing multiple re-bids. I currently have obtained a back up reservation which I can cancel at the 3* Omni Royal Cresent for $125.00 per night....

Most 4* are listed quite high on their regular sites..all between 170.00 and 350.00...

Should I continue to bid low as I have some time? When should I start being a bit more aggressive...Are rates usually this high..it is a few weeks after Mardi Gras, but I did not expect these kind of prices.

thanks for any help you can give me.

Go Washington Huskies (even though were 1-7).
