  1. Price.line is getting worse and worse [and Hot.wire the same] in terms of pricing, while retaining horrible customer service. They originally showed a 2.5* for $66, but once you click thru - surprise surprise! - it's now $75. I went to regular priceline and bid $66 for that, but it came back and said I could re-bid for $78, still higher than the revised-upward Express offer of $75. Beware as there are 3 Holiday Inn Express' in this huge "Jacksonville Beach" area, and this one the furthest from the beach although with a good reputation. I could have gotten the same Holiday Inn Express with a corporate discount for $84, so considering the extra Priceline fees [after they already pocket 50% of the base amount] I don't think I saved much, plus ended up non-refundable for 4 nights vs day of arrival cancelation until 4pm with the corporate rate. All of this hassle, and little savings - and the hotels tend to treat you as a pariah when asking for a bed type, i.e. king vs booking regularly. Yet another Pricline bait-and-switch? Their Holiday Promotion to "unwrap the savings" by revealing the Priceline Express property? Turns out that is extremely rare - most are still unknown until purchase. Yet another way they worm their way in by getting you to try to use the app [with built in ads] while delivering very little. 2. Priceline currently has a promotion claiming to tell the name of the Express Deals before you book for the holidays: Yet the reality is they don't, and customer service is no help. I went ahead and booked and ended up with Hyatt Place - but this is yet another example of how horrible both Priceline & Hotwire customer service are - constantly promoting things that don't really work out, and refusing to help when they don't.
  3. Got the same property in June at about the same price - nice place, good value for the money. Amenity listed as indoor pool and airport shuttle. HATE having to purchase thru Hot.wire as they are the absolute worst customer service.
  4. There were 2 Extended Stays in Auburn Hills - I think the Featherstone Road one was posted at the higher rate of $71 + fees and this was $42 + fees. Not a great reputation [despite the 85% Hotwire users giving it a thumbs up supposedly] - but a good deal. I just HATE Hotwire's customer service. The worst - so I try and avoid them but Priceline - unusually didn't have as many choices in the area.
  5. Used PRICELINE EXPRESS: Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center
  6. Originally bid $55 for 3.5*, rejected, it suggested I bid $12 more, which equaled the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer - so I went Express, using the Fall5 5% discount and got the Sheraton as expected. Seems PRICELINE EXPRESS is following pretty closely what bidding at Priceline will do.
  7. Tried bidding at Priceline, but no luck with a number of bids, lowest being $45 for 2.5 star - so bit the bullet and went with what I expected to get thanks to the info on this board. On the upside, looks like a couple of good restaurants near by. Amenities: Free ParkingFree BreakfastPet friendly Fitness CenterPool(s)Business CenterSelf service laundry Internet access
  8. Bid $45 [with 5% summer coupon] - got the Country Inn instead of the Baymont via the $47 Express option last time. Who knows if Express would have given the Baymont again - or would have given the Country Inn - but same exit.
  9. Bid $60 for *3, added *2.5 knowing they had the Express offering *2.5 for $70. Rejected, so took Express offering. Hoped for the more highly rated Holiday Inn Express Smithfield but got the Woonsocket property again.
  10. Bid up to $65 for 3* East & South areas - no. Took "Express" offer of $44 for 2.5* South location.
  11. Originally bid $75 for Miami Airport area 4*, denied, added 3.5*, denied, added Airport West, got the Doral. As others have mentioned, there is the "mandatory resort fee" of $24, and $12 "self park fee" They will try and upsell an upgrade charge for rooms, depending on the area in the large property.
  12. Bid $50, accepted. As everyone else said, they price parking very high.
  13. Bid $80 for 3* - reject - $85 added 2.5* - reject - Added Attleboro area to re-bid faster as it has no 2.5 star or higher properties - $90 accepted. Expected to get Smithfield Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn, so beware you could end up with this location as it is in the same Priceline area. Also this hotel has smoking rooms, so be sure to call ahead to make sure you get a nonsmoking if that's what you want.
  14. Do NOT suggest booking this as Super 8 should be just a 2* property, and the rate with Hotwire's extra service charge makes it almost the same as you can get direct [especially if you have a Senior/AARP etc discount] Priceline offered $63 for a 2.5 star which would have been Hampton/Holiday Inn Express etc - a definite cut above the Super 8
  15. Bid $60 for 3.5 star - rejected - then $50 for 3 star for 2 weekend nights vs $75 non-refundable internet rate direct.
  16. Bid $71, got it [based on another previous bid]. Good price for weeknight at very good property.
  17. Bid $65, won for same-day arrival. Stayed before - very nice property.
  18. Bid $90, accepted. Hotel has very mixed reviews, so suggest start bidding lower.
  19. Not much of a price break at all - regular is $59, senior/AARP is $53 - so if you ad the service charge you could be paying more than booking direct. Hotel was good for the $ - but no need to pay Hotwire and not know.
  20. Hotwire had *2.5 for $75, so bid $65 as there are a number of similar properties right by the freeway.
  21. $70 bid, no $80, no, $90 no $95 accepted. Had to change dates to indicate 1 night stay to rebid, then added on 1 night. Unfortunately that means Priceline adds more service charges, but if you don't have 24 hours to wait is the only way to do it. Not that much cheaper than AAA/senior etc discount rates at the property direct after you factor in the service charges. Also - yet another hotel that got the confirmation from Priceline requesting smoking rooms, when obviously most do NOT want smoking rooms, so call the hotel to insure you get the room you want. [previously bid $60 for Beaver Falls, PA which was rejected - counteroffer was $88 but didn't take it believing it was the poorly reviewed Holiday Inn]
