  1. Great deal, not a fancy hotel, but all we need and in a good area. At 99 bucks it is a steel. I expect to pay extra for Internet but still... Amenities listed not ,much, just the fitness center but who complaints? This place is in between Logan and Dupont. By the way, I knew already it was the Darcy before booking, it is obvious. The nearby Westin which I called was offering 205/night as best deal, so I am happy. The only thins Priceline has this at 4 star; it should be a 3.5 star hotel actually, just saying.
  2. Huge deal. Was 536.night, offered direct at 354, got it at 165 PRICELINE EXPRESS. Very Central location. Amenities Fitness Center Business Center Pets Allowed Restaurant Non-smoking Rooms Parking
  3. just to clarify, this is the one on Address: 13700 Sw 139th Ct, Miami , FL , United States Not a huge deal, to be honest, but it's okay.
  4. :) Check in 9/18/2011 check out 9/24/2011 The Blackstone Renaissance (Marriott) 4 stars at 636 S. Michigan Ave, by Grant Park. Price per night at the hotel website for that period $ 279.00 From other sites $ 259 lowest Priceline $ 150.00!! They accepted my first offer, I selected at 3.5 stars, Millennium/Loop/Grant Park + River North, they said average $ 263, so I stared at 150 and, well, got it immediately. Maybe I could have started lower but honestly I am not concerned. This is another great deal from priceline as far as I am concerned.
  5. Got this via PRICELINE (of course I used this site's link). The Avenue is listing rooms starting at $ 229.00 on their site. It's right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. That said, I might have tried to offer less as my first offer was accepted. I am happy with it anyway. Between the 6 nights last 4 weeks ago a the Millennium Broadway in NY and this one, I am pretty satisfied with my PRICELINE bookings. Will review the hotel when I come back.
  6. Millennium Broadway 145 W 44th St. New York, NY-10036-4012 Check in 9/3/2009 Check-out 9/9/2009 What an amazing deal! I got this hotel at $ 147.00/night via Priceline, when the best offer with my AAA membership was $ 269.00/night. Being that it was my first booking with Priceline and I read reviews about the
  7. Finally got it. Here are the details. Millennium Broadway Hotel 145 W. 44th St. New York, NY (Times Square) Priceline 3/5* TripAdvisor 4* 9/3 - 9/9 6 nights stay. Winning bid price $ 147.00 with taxes/fees comes up to total $ 1,057.89. Just to give an idea, even with my AAA discount the lowest price I could have gotten in this hotel for those nights was $ 269.00/night. I feel like I got a pretty good deal, but will let everybody know after the trip.
  8. I am becoming willing to accept almost anything... Yesterday night I offered $ 145.00 for a 4* in these areas: CPS - CHE - DOWNTOWN, SOHO, FINANCIAL DISTRICT - ESB - MTE - MTW - TS It was refused. Maybe that was not a good idea as now I have no other areas to add ( :) )and have to wait 24 hrs to increase bid. Probably I should add also the 3.5* if I get refused again.
  9. Good advice. I'll see if I can get something reasonable in Midtown (I was hoping to stay within 160-170 max), if not as you said I might as well add the other areas and see if I get something. I know that 160-170 in NY in September is tough for a decent hotel, but I am also taking the wife to Asheville, NC in October, so I am trying to budget a little. Thanks for the advice.
  10. Well, I am considering several options in Asheville, but the main reason I posted that was for everybody's benefit in case you can verify the hotel and add it to the Hotwire hotel list.
  11. Choc, if you want you can read my post on this hotel, I think that hotel is the Holiday Inn Asheville Biltmore East on 1450 Tunnel Rd. By the way, if that's the case, it doesn't look like a big deal from HOTWIRE as I can get the King bed, non-smoking guaranteed at this hotel for $ 109.99 via AAA, so that's only 10 bucks savings.
  12. I did not book but I think I found a new hotel offered by Hotwire. I am new on this forum so I call for the experts to check and confirm. I am doing this search: ASHEVILLE 10/22 - 10/27 3* The offer is $ 99.00 Hotel rated at TripAdvisor 4.5 In the list we have here under 38 Asheville Central I see listed: Country Inn, Holiday Inn Downtown (which is where I am trying to go) and Crowne Plaza Resort. However, based on the amenities listed at Hotwire and especially based on the TripAdvisor rating (over 100 reviews) it seems to me that the hotel offered by Hotwire for $ 99.00 should be the Holiday Inn Asheville Biltmore East. Now, I did not book, so I don't have 100% confirmation, but I see that none of the 3 hotels in the list here is rated 4.5 out of 5 at TripAdvisor, while the only one with those amenities and that rating is the Holiday Inn Asheville Biltmore East. But as I said, maybe some of the forum managers/experts want to look a it and come up with their conclusion.
  13. Great! I think I got them then!! :) Sorry, I get easily excited... :)
  14. Just a question. When you proceed to step 1 of booking in Hotwire and they summarized the details of your trip (before revealing the hotel), they show a small map of "your" area with a rating by reviewers from tripAdvisor, like 4.5 out of 5. I am wondering what that rating refers to....the entire area (like in my case, Central Asheville? How can "Central Asheville" be reviewed?) Or they refer to the rating of the hotel they are sending to? I would hope it's the second because it would make it easy enough to narrow down the hotel. Any idea?
  15. To be honest, I started with MTE only. In future bids to priceline - having to change some criterias - I added Downtown, MTW, Chelsea. My ideal would be MTE. Downwtown although not in the heart of everything is still okay, because I have never been to NY before, so everywhere I go I will have plenty of stuff to see, plus I plan to use subways and public transportations a lot. Also, I read good review on the Millennium near the WTC area. I was about to add hotel at 3.5 stars but those available did not have good reviews.
  16. 9/3 - 9/9 4* MTE - MTW - DOWNTOWN-SOHO - CHELSEA OFFERED $ 140.00 REFUSED Will keep updated. I saw that someone h=got the Benjamin at 130 recently but I guess because my dates include Labor Day, prices are going to be much higher. On the good side, tomorrow when I will try again, I will use the link to PRICELINE from this website instead of going directly there.
