  1. the problem with the saturday night is that the chicago marathon is run the day after, which is a huge event in itself.
  2. i got mine in the river north area though, so you might want to try that.
  3. you could also go for a 3 star hotel. I got mine for 120$ a night and its right next to the shuttle stop for the sfn convention. But i don't think you will get anything below 120$ since i went to 119$ before winning my bid. Good luck with your bidding.
  4. there is a win reported at 61$ for a 3.5 star during your date so you might get lucky. But i would try to go up maybe to 70$ to make sure you have something. As far as bidding strategy goes, i would go slowly with the increase since you still have time.
  5. i would not hold my breath for an hotel coming up on priceline for this week-end as there is a huge festival going on. It's also peak season there, so you might to try more conventional way of booking through Orbitz or something similar.
  6. well looks like i might not need your help after all. Bid accepted on *** courtyard by mariott chicago downtown river north oct 17th to the 21 st 120 $ per night Seems like a nice hotel, hopefully it's well situated. My convention provide a shuttle from the hotel, so at least going to and from there should be easy. As promised, i used your PRICELINE link to make my purchase.
  7. Sorry about that mistake, it's in october. I used the links to make my first inquiries and i will when i will buy that's for sure.
  8. I don't know if you decided to merge my thread aaron, but this post was really intended to be on the priceline page since i will try to find better using this.
  9. Hi guys, i'm going to attend a convention at mccormick place august 17 to the 21 so i need a room from the 16th to the 20th close to there. However, looking at the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins, it seems that the prices are quite high in the loop. any advices as to how i could maybe lower the cost of my lodging? Thanks
  10. thanks for the answer. i might try PRICELINE anyway but the rate are sky high because of the convention. The only win i saw for downtown for now is 130$ for a 4 star, which is the upper limit of my budget.
