  1. Just got the 3* St. Anthony Wyndham for $67 for two nights. I started with bids at $48, looking for 3* and higher, increased by $2 increments, adding non 3* zones. This week/weekend has the largest music convention in the world, so I didn't anticipate rock-bottom prices. With taxes and fees, the total for two nights was $165, about $20 cheaper than than Hotwire's "hot rate" total price for an unknown 3* in a possibly less centralized location. List price on the Wyndham is $152 a night. Hotels.com is offering it for $135 a night. So, I probably got a good deal for the time and location. NOTE: BetterBidding's hotel list classifies this hotel as a 3.5*; Priceline is now listing this as a 3*
  2. Sure, the amenities listed are: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Spa Services
  3. I just booked a 4.5 star hotel on Hotwire in Midtown East; turned out to be the Waldorf Astoria. Got it for $212 a night+tax.
  4. Just booked on Hotwire, through their "hot Rates" - the Waldorf Astoria. It was listed as a 4.5 star in Midtown East. I got it for $212 a night. Plus tax, the total was $263. Booked it through the HOTWIRE link at Better Bidding!
  5. Today I bid $50 for a 3.5 Upscale on Priceline for the Pittsburgh Airport zone. It was accepted on first bid, and I got the Airport Marriott, technically in Coraoplis, PA. Parking is complimentary.
  6. On 4/14/10, I bid and was awarded the 3* Canton La Quinta Inn and Suites for $48. With taxes and fees, my bill was $60.38. This was for a one-night stay on 5/14/10. I was happy with this hotel (see review), and felt like I got a good deal.
  7. On 4/14/10, I bid and was awarded the 3* Toledo (Rossford) Courtyard by Marriott for $44. With taxes and fees, my bill was $57.99. This was for a one-night stay on 5/15/10. I was adequately satisfied with the hotel (see my review), but didn't feel like this was a great "deal" (as compared to the Doubletree South I got for $2 more in Cleveland two nights prior, which was a great location for that price.).
  8. On 4/14/10, I bid and was awarded the 3.5* Cleveland (Independance) Doubletree South for $46. With taxes and fees, my bill was $60.53. This was for a one-night stay on 5/13/10. I was REALLY happy with this hotel, and felt like I got a great deal.
  9. I stayed here on 5/16/10 for one night and found it acceptable. Location was in the outskirts of Toledo (in Rossford/Perrysville); within a 5-10 minute drive of upscale suburban shopping. Parking and wireless internet are free. The room was good sized and clean; however, it felt on the cusp of needing rennovation. Old TV, outdated carpet, and only a moderately fixed bed made the experience a little lackluster compared to some other Courtyards at which I've stayed. Overall, I would not be dissapointed if I received this hotel via Priceline or Hotwire again, but I would not seek it out. Three star hotel, barely; closer to a 2.5.
  10. I stayed here on 5/15/10 for one night and was pleased with the hotel. Location was decent; very close to the Pro Football HOF, though not in the most posh area of the metro. Parking and wireless internet are free, along with business center and pool use. Breakfast is also free, with an array of cereals, yogurts, breads, waffle-station, fruit, juice, etc. I stayed on the top (fourth) floor and was informed that the floor was a partially smoking floor, though my room was a non-smoking room. The hall did smell of cigarette smoke; however, my room did not have the odor. The room was spacious, very clean, felt new, new electronics (flat panel TV), with a comfortable bed. Another consideration is that La Quinta does allow pets; we had a small dog residing in the adjacent room, and did hear it yelping once during the evening. Overall, I would not be dissapointed if I received this hotel via Priceline or Hotwire again, though I might not seek it out. Three star hotel, but most certainly not 3.5.
  11. I stayed here on 5/14/10 for one night and was very pleased with the hotel. Location was great; just outside the city, but in a trendy suburban area. Safe and pleasant location. Parking and wireless internet are free, along with business center and pool use. The room was spacious, very clean, felt new, new electronics (flat panel TV), comfortable bed with oversized pillows. Was very satisfied and would stay here again.
  12. I just bid on the 3* Ann Arbor. My initial price of $45 a night was accepted for the Holiday Inn/University Area.
  13. Today's winning bid was the Hyatt Place Lombard (in the Oakbrook-Downers Grove subarb zone) for $33. Parking, Internet, and breakfast included. I'm staying only one night, August 12. With PL fees and taxes, my total is $44.16. I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link for my booking.
