  1. They showed it to me before I purchased, it is $27 per night and you are going to pay a resort fee in Vail on just about any of the 4* and above properties no matter where you purchase. However, what isn't listed before or after you purchase is that they charge $18 per day to self park (or $25 to valet).
  2. The amenities that were listed for my 4* that turned out to be the Vail Cascade were pretty simple, only Swimming Pool, Non Smoking and High Speed internet were listed. The location shown was "Vail Valley - Vail" and it had 4.5 smiley faces on the reviews. When i clicked on the actual listing, it showed the location as "Vail CO US". I too was worried about getting something in Avon or Beaver Creek as i was also looking for Vail only, so the location saying Vail CO made me feel comfortable enough to go for it. I would guess what you are seeing is the Vail Cascade but there is no real way of being sure of it.
  3. I recently booked a 4* hotel in Vail and will give you my advice. I started my search by using PRICELINE EXPRESS deals that don't require you to bid. I did a search for my location and dates to see what PRICELINE was offering for their express rates to give me an idea of what a realistic bid might look like. I was looking for a 4* as well and they had a 4* listed for $259 a night. I started my bidding at $175 and eventually got up to $225, which was the max i was willing to pay. I also looked at HOTWIRE to get an idea of the realistic price range for a 4*. I then went to Travelocity and searched their "hidden rates" or whatever they call them and ended up with the 4* for $144 per night. So i would say to expand your search to include non-priceline websites as well as using PRICELINE EXPRESS deals to give you an idea of what may or may not be a realistic price to pay.
  4. I got the Vail Cascade Resort. I was shocked to see this deal come up for a 4* and figured it was the Vail Cascade. I saw it on HOTWIRE and PRICELINE Express deals for the $260 per night range for what I also assume was the Vail Cascade. Published rate was $499 per night.
  5. I am trying to ID a 4* Keystone area hotel for 2 adults from 2/8-2/10. Amenities listed include: This Hotel features the following amenities: Resort Free Parking Free Internet Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby
  6. Starting bidding at $75 for 4* in the Michigan Ave/River North area. Using re-bid zones I was able to bid up to $115 and that was rejected, but I received an offer to rebid immediately without changing or adding anything at $146. I went ahead and re-bid by adding my last rebid zone for that day and won it at $125 per night.
  7. After seeing your post, i decided to pull the trigger on this and did get the Postcard Inn Resort. $100 cheaper per night rate, so seems like a great deal!
  8. We are looking for 3 rooms for a total of 6 adults for a stay of 2 nights for 3/20-2/22 in the Islamorada/Key Largo area. I came across this listing for a Hotwire 3.5* property for $130 per night, which is very reasonable. I looked at the current hotel list for this area and I don't see a 3.5* listed for Islamorada. Can anyone take a guess on what it might be? Here are the amenities: Resort, Beachfront Property, Pool(s), Restaurant(s) , High-Speed Internet Access When they list restaurants, does it have to be an onsite restaurant connected to the resort or can it be an adjacent property that isnt directly affiliated with the hotel. It also says that a resort fee of up to $20 per night per room will be collected, if that helps narrow it down.
  9. So are we sure that the only Resort level hotel in the Fort Lauderdale Beach area is Marriott?
  10. I used the PRICELINE link and it is showing that the best hotel in the Clearwater Beach zone is a 3.5* and no 4* exists. When I did the same search on their retail products, I see that they have the Sheraton as a 3.5*, the Hilton as a 3*, the Days inn and Holiday Inn and Quality inn as 2*. They have a couple of 1* as well. I am fine with any of the 3.5 or 3* they have listed on their retail. Would they really call a 2* on the retail side a 3.5* on the name your own price side? It would seem like that could really harm the credibility of their star system unless they are banking on the fact that customers have a difficult time sharing the information as to what winning bids they recieve.
  11. Thanks for the reply. I dont have a problem with the Marriott or the Hilton either way, I would be fine with either. What I am worried might happen is that I select a 3.5 star or above and I end up getting the Howard Johnson or a similar 2 or 2.5 star or below type property. If all 3.5s are similar to the Marriott or Hilton in Clearwater Beach, then I would have no problem. Its just that uncertainty that they might stick me with a lower star hotel and since its non-changeable, I would be stuck with a 2 star hotel when I want a 3.5 or better. I obviously will make sure to use the PRICELINE links should I decide to make a bid
  12. I am looking to book a 3.5 star or better in Clearwater Beach (8/7-8/11) which is in the Priceline St. Pete-Clearwater (Clearwater Beach) zone and I see that from the hotel list this could be the Marriot or the Hilton Clearwater Beach resort. When I check both hotel's websites, I see that the Marriott has no rooms available for 2 of the 4 days that I need. Is it fair to assume that the Hilton is the only option available since Marriott is showing no availability for 2 of the 4 days I need?
