  1. Started bidding at $60. Offered a free rebid if I bid $75. Declined, and added 3* areas raising bids by increments until $69 was accepted. Satisfied with this price for this hotel, compared to the $144 I had to pay for the stay this 17th! I used the PRICELINE link from BB
  2. Not sure why hotels are all booked up this friday, but this was the best price after a couple of days rebidding, starting at $65 Note: I did not include the two other areas with 4* in the bidding (ie. Bellevue, and Redmond-Kirkland) Was offered a free rebid (if I bid $155) when I started today at $125. Declined, and went up incrementally by adding 3* areas until it accepted at $144. btw. I used the PRICELINE link from BB.
  3. Made bids for tomorrow night: Started at $50.00 French Quarter (4*) $55.00 by adding Garden area Won on the next bid at $60 by adding Metairie. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $180.00 Taxes & Fees: $36.63 Total Charges*: $216.63 Used BB's PRICELINE link.
  4. Wanted 4* in Montreal Downtown Started at $60, added $5 with each free rebid zone (thus excluding Dorval) Made it to $95 on the second day. Third day I bid $98, and got the standard message, you can get the hotel right now if you increase by $22.00. Chose to use a free rebid instead by adding a free re-bid zone and bidding only $100.00. I used the PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  5. Thanks Yager and Yellowdog, Just went by lowest bid won by the other posters, without taking into consideration demand may be lower the nights I was bidding for. Hopefully hit that "sweet spot," but hate not knowing the absolute low was. Had three free rebids, b/c we have two different credit cards to use, and it wouldn't have hurt to wait the 24 hours too. oh well, live and learn. Cheers, and happy travels! Ahstee
  6. Won on First bid Pulled a rookie mistake. Darn... I used the PRICELINE link.
  7. Was really hoping for the Westin this time around, as I noticed other wins, but knew there was a chance of getting the Edgewater again. Oh well, it's a good price nonetheless, even though there are some decent promotions for Seattle right now with Parking included. Successful Bid: $72.00 # of Rooms: 1 # of nights: 2 Subtotal: $144.00 Taxes and Fees: $29.78 Total Charges: $173.78 Bids (Seattle's great for the number of free rebids!): Started at $52.00, added roughly $2 to $3 each re-bid: Bothell, Kirkland, Lake Union, Lynwood, Mukilteo, North Everett, Renton, Sea-Tac, Added University successfully at $72.00. Was given an opportunity to pay $17.00 for a guaranteed win when I hit $67.00, but knew I was close, and better off going under with the couple free re-bids left. btw, I went through the PRICELINE Link... Thanks!
  8. I was quite pleased with the price considering the other prices posted and the cheapest price I found online was in the low $300s. Free airfare is a better deal than what I got though :) Thereyouare: I forgot to mention I used the PRICELINE Link for my bids.
  9. Bidding History (choosing Resort level only): Attempted Mar 21 Wailea
  10. Almost forgot to go thru Savings Barn, but remembered halfway through the bidding process. Between my wife and I, we had 16 bid/re-bids to get a 4* downtown Seattle hotel. Started at $65, worked our way up with $5 increments, up to $120. Learned that this used to be a 3*, which is too bad, especially reading all the mixed reviews on tripadvisor, but still a good deal compared to the $200 on the Edgewater site. Details below: Hotel Edgewater Downtown Seattle Pier 67 2411 Alaskan Way Seattle, Washington 98121 Check-In Date: Wed, May 30, 2007 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Fri, Jun 1, 2007 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $120.00 Subtotal: $240.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $45.18 Total Charges*: $285.18
  11. Bid on 4* Downtown Toronto Started at 64 and went up with $2 increments because of the multiple rebids available with all the other areas in toronto. Eventually got it at $76. Hotel rates are posted at $200/night regularly. Used the SB link.
  12. Thanks for the assurances. You're right, space is not the most important thing. We're a little spoiled in North America. If it's clean, quiet, and convenient, I'm more than happy. Thanks again JoshS!
  13. I started this bid at $100.00. Should have started a little lower, but I've been trying for the last month with bids between 90 to 110. Just as reference, the rooms on the marriott website are going for 1550 DKr. Your Offer Price: $100.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $300.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $83.87 Total Charges: $383.87
  14. Yes the hotel won was the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, which is clearly what has been reported on this board. The address is: 97 Cromwell Road. I didn't realize there was another Holiday Inn across the street that goes by the name "Holiday Inn Kensington" at 100 Cromwell Road, which I originally looked up reviews on Trip advisor for. No biggie, except from the looks of it, rooms are substantially smaller from the reviews and photos posted.
  15. Kensington - Earls Court - Knightsbridge Amenities: Restaurants, Fitness Center, Business Center 1 room(s) @ $85.00 per night x 4 night(s) $340.00 Hotel Taxes and fees: $66.90 Hotel Subtotal $406.90 Total Price $406.90 Didn't realize this wasn't the Holiday Inn Kensington, until I read the address and noticed it was across the street from the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum. That was a dumb mistake, but despite this getting a lower rating on Tripadvisor the hotel doesn't look too bad, and compared to Holiday Inn's online rates of 85GBP I'll stop complaining.
  16. Started with $75 Seattle Downtown 4* Assuming there were no other areas with 4 star hotels (other than Bellevue) from other posts: added Lake Union @ $80 added University of Washington @ $85 added Lynnwood/Edmonds @ $90 added with success Bothell @ $95 Seattle Sheraton Hotel And Tower **** Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $190.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $36.39 Total Charges: $226.39 Thanks to the administrators and other postees.
  17. Thanks for the info. I decided to research on my own, and surf around for rates. Found a decent site that has some recommended hotels in Istanbul. www.turkeytravelplanner.com. Too bad PL doesn't have some hotels there. Would like to have saved some money.
  18. Thanks for the info. Just wanted to say you're doing a great job. I love this site, and am appreciative of all the comments from the other fellow travellers.
  19. Has anyone ever booked a hotel in Istanbul on PL? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
  20. Please update your hotel list to reflect Holiday Inn (airport) as a 3* Chose 3* throughout 1st bid: $30 Seattle Airport 2nd bid: $35 Added University 3rd bid: $37 Added Union Lake On wife's cc: 4th bid: $38 Seattle Airport 5th bid: $40 Added University (winning bid) A little disappointed we didn't get a lower rate after looking at some of the other successful bids. Holiday Inn Seatac Airport Check-In Date: Thursday, April 21, 2005 Check-Out Date: Friday, April 22, 2005 Seattle Airport (SEA) 17338 International Boulevard Seattle,
