  1. Thanks again for the wonderful site! Saved me so much money through the years...
  2. Used PRICELINE link Started with Downtown South for $80, gradually increased and added Downtown North zone at $93, won when first added. Thanks for the site!
  3. Finally! I've been trying for literally over a month to get this weekend and finally got something relatively reasonable considering there's obviously something going on this weekend taking up all the hotels (looking forward to finding out what when I check in)... After bidding up to $215 for Milennium Park/North River/ Greater Chicago for 3.5* (and $~190 for 3*) in the weeks leading up including yesterday, got the Wyndham today first try at $170... Now wondering if I could've gotten it for ~$155 (since Priceline states the median price is now $309) but nonetheless happy-cheapest rate is $359/night on Wyndham Blake website for today. Used PRICELINE link. Thanks!!
  4. Started at $67 (based on $ posted for Oct 2010), was offered hotel for $20 increase, ignored- rebid $70, denied; rebid $73, Won:) Used PRICELINE link- thanks so much for the site!
  5. Started at $90, went up by $5, won at $105... A pretty good price I think considering it's during the Just for Laughs Festival Gala. Thanks for the site!
  6. Hello, Started bidding at $95 night, offered win at $25 more. Ignored, added rebid zone and won at $97/night. Thanks again for the board! L
  7. Meh, That's the best I can say about the Renaissance Philadelphia. It is definitely NOT a 4 start hotel: the "gym" was a small room with a couple cardio machines and free weights- no mats, no weight machines- most 2.5*'s I've been to are better than this. The positives: the pool was nice, the room was ok (but could hear doors closing around you with a bang at night), the staff friendly, free parking and shuttle to and from airport. In my opinion the only thing that resembled a 4 star hotel was what they didn't have- no free internet, not even in the lobby. In essence more like a 3*, maybe worth the price I paid on priceline but no more- and good for a quick overnight before the airport.
  8. Yey, BetterBidding helps again:)... :) Started with $54 bidding for 3.5* in airport area, added zones and going up in $1 increments over 2 days-- at $59 they offered something for $74, which was ignored... then up $1 and won an upgrade to 4* no less~ very happy with result and will be a fine hotel to stay at while attending a conference at the airport marriott a shuttle ride away.
  9. I got the same priceline deal at the Hyatt this weekend (previously posted which was not believed by some :) )... It's been my experience, and observing on this site that New York 4* prices drop substantially within the week before check-in... Perhaps people could know this- there is lots of hope for a 4* less than $120 in NYC... Thanks again for the site!
  10. Used PRICELINE link, first bid won at $120(after trying up to $120 previous days), it seems days from the date prices significantly improve for New York on Priceline... Thanks again for this wonderful site! :) :o :)
  11. Have been trying up to $80 for the past couple of weeks, got lucky today:)...
  12. I started bidding at $42, went up by $1 adding culver city and Lawndale and waiting 24 hours. At ~$57 began to get message that I could get a room if I increased bid by $18. I ignored the message and won the room at $61 (after denied at $60). Used PRICELINE link. Thanks!
  13. Hello, Worked my way up gradually from $60's. Originally accepted for Feb 7/10- Feb 10/10, then subsequently added extra nights to Feb 13/10. Thanks for the site!
  14. Started at $39, denied. Added zone for re-bid, accepted at $41. :) Use PRICELINE link. Thanks again for the site and useful info!
  15. Yey, won Hyatt Regency, $51 after adding zones and $1 at a time from $49 (got response at $50 that offer would be accepted if I increased bid by $14). Thanks for your help! Used PRICELINE link
  16. I actually won the Hyatt Regency downtown for $51 now... so I guess the only question I have now is about where to stay in Sedona vs driving for a day trip. Thanks!
  17. Hello, I am travelling to Pheonix the first week of December to attend a conference for a day at the Marriott in Mesa. I was wondering what the best neighbourhood to stay in the area is (doesn't necessarily have to be Mesa- I would probably take public transit to it though so I think that makes Scottsdale less available)... I enjoy walking around to discover what the city has to offer, diverse restaurants. Which neighbourhood best captures phoenix's culture/vibe? I've been thinking downtown or mesa, maybe tempe (but I hear it contains some run down areas). Also a few days before the conference I will be renting a car to go to Sedona. Are there nice hotels to stay in the Sedona (I notice the resorts priceline offers are just outside)? Is it best to stay outside of Sedona, or maybe even drive in from Phoenix for a daytrip? Thanks for the advice- I really appreciate it:)!
  18. Stayed here one month ago and loved it... The property and area are beautiful, the staff friendly. Nearby Hermosa and Manhattan beaches alot of fun. Looking forward to this stay. Started at $39. Rejected. Increased by $1 (over a couple of days and adding Lawndale/Culver City). Accepted at $47. Thanks for the site! PRICELINE link used
  19. Took a chance for doubletree, based on previous post-- didn't turn out, lol... 1st attempt : $85 for 3*, won courtyard. Stayed here in the past, to be honest not quite impressed- The location is surrounded by older buildings and highway, chain fence surrounding hotel.... My original plan was to stay in the beautiful Hilton in Glendale, however my bids in the $50's were not being accepted. Oh well:) Used PRICELINE link
  20. 1st try! $43 for this 3.5*, for grand total $153.75, 3 nights including taxes. PRICELINE link used.
  21. Hello, Been bidding for 3.5* downtown Phoenix for Dec 4 to 6, 2009. Started $38 to $45 with no luck. Any ideas why since it seemed to be going for $38. Thanks! Lucinda
