  1. I booked directly from Mariott for residence inn. Will check back later on PRICELINE to see if better PRICELINE EXPRESS deals are available.
  2. I can get the Residence Inn for $84 plus tax per night thru a friend who works at Mariott. But still rather prefer the $52 for the same 3 star level. Just do not want to go to Clarion. I am leaning towards Clarion now too beacuse Residence Inn has 8.0+ rating.
  3. i don't know how to check if there are any offers of interest. How did you guess it is Clarion, rather than Residence Inn? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for your reply. Since the trip was 4 years ago, I cannot remember which website I used to book the hotels. I remember that I did not use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. The the orlando trip, the zone is called Disney Downtown - Lake Buena Vista Area Hotel, 3*, room rate is $52, saving of 38% or more. This is the express deal, not name your own. Thanks for your help!
  5. I just followed up. Sorry about the delay. Dates for Orlando is 8/23 to 8/29.
  6. Did not end up bidding with PRICELINE or PRICELINE EXPRESS deal.
  7. Hi, I am trying to book a hotel at Orlando Disney area. I have done extensive research on this board trying to identify the 3* star hotel, yet still cannot tell between the Resident Inn and Clarion Inn at Disney Downtown - Lake Buena Vista Area. Amentities listed under PRICELINE EXPRESS deal are below. Both Residence Inn and Clarion have these following amentities. I would only want Residence Inn, no intersted if it is Clarion. Pets Allowed Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool
  8. I just tried tonight but failed. I first put down 2 star in Lancaster East - Intercourse, $40, rejected Added 1 star, offered $43 rejected. I am going to wait until tomorrow. My budget is around $75 for a 2 start or above.
  9. Thank for your advice. I did the methodology you suggested and confirmed that both Lancaster East- Intercourse and Lancaster -West have 3,2.5, and 2 star hotels. How should I proceed if I want to avoid the 3 star in Lancaster West? Any hotels in East-Intercourse and the 2.5 star in West is acceptable.
  10. Hi, I am looking for a hotel in the Lancaster East-Intercourse for 8/20-21. I wanted to wait until 8/19 to try my first bid, because I want to make sure my kids are okay to travel for the weekend. I did some research on this forum and ideally, I would like to stay in either Red Roof Inn or Holiday Inn Express. Red roof inn has been identified by this forum as a 2 star, in Lancaster East-Intercourse. However, Holiday Inn Express is identified as 2.5 star, in Lancaster West. Of course, if I can get the 3* courtyard for the same budget, it would be nice. Since I will only have 8/19 one day to bid, I'd like to know how to increase my free bidding zones, and not to have to wait for 24 hours later. Please correct me if I am wrong. 1. I will choose Lancaster East-Intercourse, 3*; if rejected 2. Add 2.5* in the same zone, add $ (no hotels are identified as 2.5* in this zone); if rejected 3. Add Lancaster-West as a free bidding zone, keep the stars at 3 and 2.5, add $. Hopefully I will get my ideal hotels by the third time. Does my strategy make sense? Or am I understanding the bidding process and restrictions correctly? Thanks in advance.
  11. Tried yesterday but failed. Yesterday's records: 7/28/2009 07/29/2009 Laurel, Camp Springs, Rockville 3.5 star $49 check-in check-out areas selected minimum star level bid 07/28/2009 07/29/2009 Laurel, Rockville 3.5 star $48 check-in check-out areas selected minimum star level bid 07/28/2009 07/29/2009 Rockville 3.5 star $45 Tried again today and got the Legacy hotel in Rockville for $50. I put down $48 for 3.5* Rockville zone, rejected, then raised price to $50 and added 3*, accepted. Could probably have done better if only selected 3* at the first beginning, but happy with the result. Thanks for this board.
  12. I found 2 star hotels for about $80+Tax. It is just too much for our budget. So do i have to wait until the first 24-hour period is over to rebid? Thanks.
  13. Thanks for the tips. Here is what I did: $43, added laurel, rejected added camp spings, raised to $45, rejected again. I saw other people got the hotel legency in rockville for $45 so I thought $45 is a safe bet but no luck... now what to do? My stay is 7/28-7/29, one night. Thanks.
  14. I followed the previous winnings as below, but I made a mistake of choosing 3*, instead of 3.5* to start with. By doing this, I lost one free bid zone. Now I am locked by priceline for the 24 hrs restriction. Please advise how to proceed. Chose rockville 3* to start with, $38, rejected added camp springs free rebid zone, $40, rejected Now I am stuck because priceline automatically chose 3.5* for me so all I can do is to lower the star level to 2.5, but then camp springs does have 2.5*. I don't want to stay there. I only want to stay in Rockville. Looking at the previous winnings, it seems like priceline has changed their zoning. Now there is no such zone called " bethesda-south rockville", instead, there is just "rockville" and "gaithersburg-germantown". How can I rebid again within 24 hours? Thanks.
