  1. Started bidding at $80 and won first try. Doh! Started too high! There's free weekend parking on the street and 15 minute walk to downtown, not a bad spot. Room subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & fees: $20.97 Taxes: $20.97 Coupon: $100.97
  2. Started at $65 and worked up to $74 by adding re-bid zones. In this area there are 6 zones with no 4 star hotels that you can use for re-bids when going for a 4*. This hotel is well situated with an Asian mall beneath with a fabulous food fair, the massive Metrotown Mall is across the street and a Skytrain station is there as well. I used the Betterbidding Priceline link.
  3. Using the PRICELINE link on this page I started at $75 and bid $2 increments until I got an offer to buy at $99. Then bid by a dollar as I knew I was close. Magnolia has recently been bumped up to 4.5* for some reason, not sure if Priceline is responsible for this or some other ratings group. This new rating is actually useful for targeting the Magnolia as it's the only 4.5* in the region giving you three bidding opportunities by adding areas. $86 win $21.96 tax fees $107.96
  4. I bid up to $91 for a 4 star in Victoria BC with no luck. I think the loggers convention, boat show and the Steampunk Expo this weekend drove prices up. I booked the Marriot for $100 through work instead.
  5. Started at $78 and worked up over two days using free bid zones. Used your PRICELINE link of course! Room Subtotal: US$86.00 Taxes & Fees: US$21.21
  6. Started at $70 and increased bid by $5 each time. Bid a total of three times by added a bid zone each time. HST is 12%, hotel tax is 2% I think and the Priceline fee is around $8. Marriot had a web special of $109. I used the PRICELINE link. Offer Price: US$80.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: US$80.00 Taxes & Fees: US$19.82 Total Charged to Card: US$99.82
  7. Bid $96 which failed, added a zone and bid $98 which hit. Hopefully I get the same North facing corner room with 50 feet of windows to watch the arriving aircraft approach. There's plenty of free parking around this place too with many good Asian restaurants nearby. Tax is 14%, rest is Priceline fee. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night US$98.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: US$196.00 Taxes & Fees: US$39.54 Total Charged to Card: US$235.54
  8. Sales tax is 14% so subtract that and you can figure out the Priceline fee. Hit on second bid. Used the PRICELINE link provided! Hilton Vancouver Metrotown Coquitlam - Burnaby 6083 Mckay Avenue Burnaby, British Columbia V5H 2W7 604-438-1200 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$76.00 Subtotal: US$152.00 Taxes & Fees: US$32.20 Total Charges:
  9. $166 seems high but I think there were about 15000 people coming and going from 4 cruiseships on Sat. I'm guessing that's why rates are high.
  10. I just stayed there Sun. night. Pretty spectacular room- it was on the north east corner on the 9th floor, #921. Fifty feet of glass with views of the North Shore Mountains and east over Richmond. A great place to watch planes approach YVR. Ask for a corner room as it looks like they are a bit bigger than the other rooms. If you feel like gorging, there is a good all-you-can-eat Japanese place a few blocks away called Ninkazu. Free street parking is plentiful if you don't feel like paying the $15 for secure hotel parking, jus make sure everything is out of sight. Wi-fi was $12 and worked well with my laptop but the wife couldn't connect with her ipod.
  11. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$67.00 Subtotal: US$134.00 Taxes & Fees: US$29.04 Total Charges: US$163.04 Started bid at $65, added Langley and re-bid at $67 which won. Used the PRICELINE link provided.
  12. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$94.00 Subtotal: US$94.00 Taxes & Fees: US$22.38 Total Charges: US$116 Might have been able to get this for a couple of dollars less because I jumped from $89 to $94. Many re-bid opportunities in this area for a *4. I started at $79. I used the the PRICELINE link provided.
  13. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$79.00 Subtotal: US$79.00 Taxes & Fees: US$19.14 Total Charges: US$98.14 I've been trying for a lowball offer over the last week or so knowing full well it would likely take a bid of $79 to win. Tonight I bid $76 then added another area and bid$79. Tax in Victoria is 12% HST and 2% hotel tax, I think. Priceline fee looks to be about $8. Used the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding.
  14. I live in Victoria and the only hotel that is 4* and ocean front is the Delta Ocean Point. It would be less than a 10 minute walk across the bridge to downtown. I just stayed at the Magnolia, winning it on PRICELINE for $100. If you don't mind a bit of a gamble you could probably do likewise.
  15. Tried for two weeks on and off starting at $70 with no luck until I hit $100. I guess tourist season is ramping up and so are the hotel prices- I got this one for $75 in Jan. if I recall. It's a great hotel so I don't mind the (relative) splurge once in a while. After tax/fees it was $123.34. used your PRICELINE link of course!
  16. Won on first bid. Hotwire has a 4* for $82usd. I was bidding up to $80usd for a Dec 27/09 stay in Victoria during the week leading to Xmas with no success. Canadian dollar is pretty strong right now too! Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link of course. Check-In Date: Fri, Jan 8, 2010 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Jan 9, 2010 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$67.00 Subtotal: US$67.00 Taxes & Fees: US$17.87 Total Charges: US$84.87
  17. The Hyatt was great, a worker told us we were the first to use the room as that new tower had opened a few days prior. The main reason I went there was to go to Epicurean Edge in Kirkland and spend too much money on kitchen knives. I'd like to get back to Bellevue and try some of your recommendations- thanks seachicken!!
  18. $69 was accepted first try. Doh! Should've started lower! Hyatt Regency Bellevue Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $69.00 Subtotal: $69.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.43 Total Charges*: $86.43 Check-In Date: Tue, Aug 4, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Wed, Aug 5, 2009 / 12:00 PM Now, what the heck is there to do in Bellevue? :)
  19. First bid $87. Got on the second bid after added North Van. First time using Priceline and this forum. I used the PRICELINE link here of course! I'm Canadian and the exchange is pretty decent these days. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $97.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $194.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $40.64 (USD) Total Room Cost: $234.64 (USD)
