  2. Hotwire Selected 3* Hotel in Twin Falls, Idaho for 8/21 - one night price of $84 Hotel was Holiday Inn Express - - a nice, new modern hotel. Very nice stay!
  3. Thank you for this information. I have other family members traveling to New Orleans and have contacted a hotel directly and received a great group rate so I will not need to use Hotwire or Priceline this trip. Thanks again!

I would be booking 5-7 rooms (2 adults per room) and it looks like most sites only allow max 3 rooms to book at a time. Also, any suggestions how far in advance of Oct 23-25 dates I should bid? Thanks!
  7. I have been PRICELINE bidding for a few days either in Crystal City or Arlington without success - - I think because my request is for a Friday night stay only. Initial bid for $66 was declined ... response came back if I would increase $15 to $81. WINNING BID $81 plus $18.90 taxes/fees Nice they have courtesy shuttle to DCA airport which is a plus! Looks like a great hotel for our last night stay. I used PRICELINE bidding for 4 nights Arlington Palomar 9/2-9/6 ($70), HOTWIRE for 2 nights in Clarion Strasburg, PA ($72) and finishing up our trip with this Crystal City Marriott WIN. Thanks for betterbidding.com helpful information!
  8. Used this HOTWIRE link and booked hotel #2 (Strasburg, PA) and you were correct on your guess - - thank you! Clarion Inn Historic Strasburg Inn for $72 per night. I checked some of the reviews and it looks like a great deal, new Clarion upgrades, complimentary breakfast had good reviews, etc. Thanks again for all of the great information that is shared on this forum!
  9. I have used this board many times - - thanks for all of the help! I'm hesitant to bid with PRICELINE for 3* Lancaster PA hotel because recent WINs have been the Mariott that has the added $15 per night for parking as many have noted. I am now looking toward HOTWIRE and have a few selected hotels that I am trying to best ID. 1 - - $69 on HOTWIRE for 3* Lancaster Area Hotel STE (suite), Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, High Speed Internet 2 - - $72 on HOTWIRE for 3* Strasburg Area Hotel Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet, Golf, Spa Any ideas what hotel these would be? Thanks in advance for any help!
  10. I love Betterbidding.com website! Last year I used it and stayed at the Arlington Westin 4 nights but I truly wanted the Palomar for our trip this year. I saw the Win post from yesterday and started my PRICELINE bid @ $70 and it went right on through. I hear it is an awesome hotel. Thanks for all the information you provide.
  11. Just bid on Priceline - - $75 for 4* Union Square East for Sunday Feb 7th for one night. Won this bid! Hotel is Grand Hyatt San Francisco I used the PRICELINE link from this forums' website. We traveled to Washington DC last spring and used this forum for great information and was very successful with Priceline bidding! Thank you.
  12. Won 4* Westin Reston Heights (Dulles Airport) for $96 9/14 I had been trying to bid for a 4* six night stay in Arlington without success. I got creative and changed 4* in Arlington to only five nights (and won!) and then selected the 4* near the Dulles Airport for our final night stay before our flights in AM. The Westin Reston Heights website has their rate @ $259 - the hotel is brand new. A win-win since we have the 4* Westin (Dulles Airport) and will miss traffic by taking the hotel airport shuttle. Thanks to betterbidding for their help as our hotel savings will be better spent on dining and sights while we vacation in DC!
  13. Success! I tried yesterday with $121 and failed. Today I saw hotel rates were getting higher and decided to get creative. I checked prices on Hotwire and Priceline for 5 days (instead of 6) 9/9 thru 9/14 and the rates dropped considerable. My plan is to stay in Arlington 5 nights, then on night 6 stay near the airport (Dulles) to miss the AM traffic. I won 4* Arlington Area The Westin Arlington Gateway - - 9/9 thru 9/14 @ $96 per night (hotel website shows $240 per night) I won 4* Dulles Airport Area The Westin Reston Heights - - 9/14 @ $96 per night (hotel website shows $259 per night) I used the PRICELINE link from this forum - - thanks for all of your help! I would only suggest to those reviewing betterbidding to get creative like I did on fewer nights in one area and a hotel close to airport for the final night if you are traveling by air. :-) Life is good!
  14. I have been bidding for a few weeks now and my latest bid was for 4* Arlington @ $116.00 which was denied. I see others have been successful in the 80-90 dollar range for fewer nights and also bidding within four weeks of their travel dates. Any suggestions based upon what you see for success? I am not sure if a six night stay is driving hotels to want a higher rate or maybe I'm trying for so many nights too soon. Thanks for your assistance.
  15. New to betterbidding ... love it! I see today Priceline has 4* Arlington hotel descr 'fitness, restaurant, business, internet, spa' for $155. My guess is this is Arlington Palomar which is my goal. After reviewing the betterbidding website I'm finding users that have used Priceline and won the Palomar by requesting 4* Arlington. It looks like Priceline and Hotwire only use three 4* hotels in Arlington area. Palomar, Westin Arlington Gateway and Hyatt Arlington. For a six night stay I would like a better rate than $155. I am going to try PRICELINE hoping to get the Arlington Palomar for 9/9-9/15 but would be satisfied with the Arlington Weston or Hyatt. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your assistance!
