Was a little worried that rates might be higher due to the Tour de France, but my first bid (based on all the other reported $45 wins @ the NH Atlanta) was accepted
Room was comfortable & clean. Lobby & public places are small, but air conditioned & reasonably attractive. Hotel exterior leaves something to be desired, but it has a good location. Overall I think it was a good value.
Tried to replicate Gena's win of $66 at the Doubletree but got put in the Aqua Palms & Spa instead. Can't complain, but I probably would have prefered the Doubletree
Followed the lead of other reported successful bids. 3* All zones first bid got no takers. Waited 24hrs, rebid at 3.5*, $45 in select zones. Accepted on the first try by the I-Drive Wyndham. Used the forum PRICELINE link.
Attempted bidding up to $75 @ 3.5* across all zones except North & SouthWest Miami. All rejected. Lowered to 3* and followed $45 suggestion of other thread. 3* bid immediately accepted. Used betterbidding.com PRICELINE link.
FWIW I tried bidding from $45 incrementally up to $76 @ 3.5* trying to get this property. Each bid was rejected. Tried again at 3*, $45 and it was accepted. I'll be checking in the day you're leaving.
In the pinned hotel list, La Quinta is listed as an unreported hotel since the brand change (fmr Fairfield Inn). I just won a $50/nt stay there from 7/31-8/2. Adtl tax & service fees of $25.74. Very happy with my winning price compared to published rates.
