  1. Just wanted to follow up. This hotel was the Roosevelt! Thanks for the help!

  2. Please help me ID the following hotel. I am thinking it's probably the Roosevelt, but wanted you to confirm or possibly give other matches that it could be.

    Hotwire

3.5* $160 for 2 adults, 2 children Midtown East Area Hotel

listed amenities: fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet

    85% recommended

    Thanks!

  3. I've been checking into hotels for the Lake Las Vegas area. I received an e-mail from Hotwire with this offer:

4 * Henderson SE Las Vegas area hotel $82

amenities listed: Resort, Boutique, Casino, Shuttle to airport, Fitness Center, Swimming, Restaurant, Business Center

I read through the posts and saw that most 4*s on Hotwire were for Green Valley Ranch, but those also listed golf, laundry and spa. Those were not listed for my hotel.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for your help!

  4. We are planning a trip to Lake Las Vegas and I am strongly considering bidding on Priceline for this hotel.

I am in a group of four (2 adults, 2 kids.)

Lately on some of my wins, I have been having trouble securing double beds. Some hotels refuse to give you a room with 2 beds and, instead, count on the pull out couch as accommodation for two.

I was told at a Courtyard and also an Embassy Suites that it was against their policy to move you to a room with two beds. Does anyone know if Loews has a similar policy??

I know that technically they are providing a place for all four of us to sleep, but the two stuck on the pull out couch are definitely bummed!

Thanks if any of you can fill me in on their policy or the types of rooms you've been given with your Priceline/Hotwire win!

  5. Courtyard by Marriott Sioux Falls

    4300 West Empire Place

    Sioux Falls, SD 57116

    ph 605-444-4300

Started bidding for 3 stars at $36 and bid daily until I got to $47.

I researched booking directly and realized the 2.5 stars was fine for what we needed.

Finally bid $52 for 2.5 stars and won.

    Room price $52

    Taxes and fees $12.80

Total cost for one room $64.80.

  6. Booked for 4/2 - 4/3, 2 adults-2 kids.

    2 rooms

    3* Embassy Suites Covington Riverfront

    $59.00 each room - $137.89 w/tax ($68.95 each)

    Amenities:

    >Suite

    >Complimentary Breakfast

    >Fitness Center

    >Pool(s)

    >Restaurant(s)

    >Business Center

    >Laundry Facilities

    >High-speed Internet Access

    >Golf Nearby

When I first started researching and making plans, this hotel was not on the Hotwire list. I waited a few days and re-checked and it was on there.

I'm so happy to have had the help of Better Bidding!

    Thanks!

    Used the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link.

  7. I'm trying to find the great deal that others found for the Embassy Suites in Covington, KY.

Other posts have said they saw "suites" listed under the amenities, but I can't seem to find any hotels listed as suites.

I see one 3*(Cincinnati River Front Hotel) for $77 and I see a second 3* listed for $54 (Cincinnati Intl Airport CVG - Florence area Hotel.) Any guesses which one might be the Embassy Suites?

I know there's no guarantee, but so many other people have had luck getting the Embassy Suites, that I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get it, too!

Doesn't seem like people are getting Embassy Suites with Priceline.

Thanks for any help you can give!

  8. I was bidding with $20 bonus cash that I earned through Priceline, so all of my bids were the amount listed plus the $20.

First bid for a 3 star of $31 ($51 including bonus cash) in Bloomington, IN was rejected.

Changed my location to Columbus, IN.

I got the price of $35 (plus $20 bonus cash) for a 3-star hotel room.

    Courtyard by Marriott Columbus

    3888 Mimosa Drive

    Columbus, IN 47201

    Check-In Date: Thurs, Jul 23, 2009

    Check-Out Date: Fri., Jul 24, 2009

Offer Price: $35.00 (plus $20 Priceline bonus cash reward)

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $35.00

    Taxes and

    Service Fees: $14.39

    Total Charges: $49.39

  9. I wanted to add to this post that Priceline does have a low price guarantee:

If, after booking any of these travel products, you find a better published price online for the exact same product and itinerary within 24 hours, give us a call and we'll refund you 100% of the difference if you qualify. And I'm not done - I'll also throw in a coupon for $50 off your next booking of a 2-nights or longer Priceline Vacation Package

(see coupon details). Special discounts and memberships excluded.

But, my lower price would have come through my AAA membership, so I'm out of luck.

I won't give up on PRICELINE, but this one was a disappointment.

  10. :)

The sad story of trying to find a hotel to stay in when we go to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN:

I started bidding at $25 and bid it up in $5 (or so) increments over time. I was finally up to $59. In my opinion, this price on PRICELINE is way, WAY too high for a 2 star hotel, (I am staying at a 4* in downtown Chicago this week for $62!!) but because it's so close to Holiday World, sometimes we have to go a little higher.

However, I had searched and found my usual hotel (the Hampton Inn in Jasper) was $98 for the night, so I decided to go for the deal.

I bid the $59 and received a message that if I raised by my by $17 ($74) they could get me a room. It was still cheaper than the $98 I was planning to pay so I did it.

    I got my hotel.

    It's the

    Days Inn

    272 Brucke Strasse

    Jasper, IN 47546 US

With taxes, I'm $93.33. I went to the Days Inn website and found that I could have purchased a room from them directly for $89.70. I'm ok with having to stay at a different hotel (that's the deal when you go with Priceline) but I'm not ok with having to pay MORE through PRICELINE than with the hotel direct.

What a bummer.... that is my first bad bidding experience with Priceline. I hope I'm happily surprised when I get to the hotel.

  11. Submitted $35 for a 3 star and received a message that I could add $9 to my offer and would be given a 3 star hotel. I chose not to do that because I really wasn't thrilled about the $35 to begin with.

So, I tried again with $35 for a 2.5*.... Rejected.

Tried one last time and changed from $35 to $31 for a 2*.

It was accepted for the Signature Inn, Lafayette.

    Signature Inn

    4620 State Road 26 East

    Lafayette, IN 47905

    765-447-4142

Price accepted $31 plus $11.03 (tax), total $42.03.

4 miles from the Amtrak station which was the goal!!
