  1. It say the same hotel Unfortunately, our direct flight price with Virgin has rocketed overnight (almost doubled) so this trip is on hold unless price comes back down. I appreciate the response.
  2. Hi, I'm looking to see if 4* in NYC with good review rating is possible at short notice. I have found a hotwire deal for Time Square are that I think is RIU plaza at $210 per night plus tax. This is probably the limit of my budget. Flights are not yet booked. From the photo of the room shown, it would appear to confirm RIU plaza by matching the photo using google images. I'd appreciate any help or advice. Thansl
  3. I did use your sister site but the found it cheaper.
  4. I booked Dupont Circle at $178 plus tax and it can be cancelled up to 3 days before travel. I'll keep looking for deals up to my travel date. Thanks
  5. Having considered increasing my budget, I have found a 4.5* hotel on Hotwire that I think is the Melrose Hotel at $183 per night Would you be so kind as to check and offer your expert opinion? The amenties are listed as : FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Many Thanks drewb
  6. Great advice. I'll strip out the taxes etc in future. UK sites show the price inclusive of taxes but I'll do as you suggest in future. Thanks
  7. Refundable Omni rate is $195 per night inclusive. I would consider Omni instead of increasing budget or splitting bids unless splitting bids would result in same hotel. I don't want to lower star rating. Thanks.
  8. Cheapest I've seen is the Omni Shoreham at around $180 per night (at current exchange rates) including all taxes etc from a uk website. However, I appreciate from searching for information, that this hotel might not be located in an ideal area for sightseeing. I'd prefer not to split bids at the moment, although it might be an option if I cant find affordable 4* accommodation. Thanks for the input.
  9. I'm looking to stay in DC, go to a Redskins game on 25/10 and do the visit the normal tourist traps. Ideally, I'd like a 4* in the best tourist areas in DC and at a price below $150 incl tax? Is this asking for the impossible? Thanks

  13. Thereuare, budget is pretty fixed so might need to look at private apartments if hotel prices are above that threshold for May 12. I will have a look and let you know if we are prepared to accept lower star hotels. Thanks
  14. This will be our first visit to NYC although have been to Florida, LA & Vegas previously. Our budget is around $200 per night including taxes / fees etc. It will be normal tourist stuff so would like to stay near Central Park or Empire State Building but happy to accept advice on where to stay. We would prefer 4* but appreciate this may be difficult in NYC. Trip is for our 10th Anniversary. Thanks
  15. Unsuccessful on this occasion! We have booked a private rental in West Hollywood instead. Thank you for your assistance.
  16. Thanks Colfax, I will report back how I get on!
  17. Hi, as resort fees are not included, what is the average addtional cost of 4* hotels in the Beverly Hills / West Hollywood area? Thanks Drewb
  18. Yes, I would fix our limit around $150 per room per night (approx
  19. As we are only spending two full days in LA to cover Hollywood etc, we would prefer a bit of comfort and quiet. On this basis, I am guessing 4* in the Beverly Hills-West Hollywood is the best are to try in our price range? We will be hiring a car so I gues that will be $20 to $30 a day on top. Any further advice is appreciated.
  20. Hi, We are looking at staying three nights in Santa Monica before travelling to Vegas. As we are from the UK, we have never used priceline before so we would be grateful for any guidance. We plan to do Hollywood, tour of celeb homes etc so we dont have to stay in Santa Monica. We have budget of around $150 + tax per night per room. The booking will be for two rooms for two couples. Obviously we would prefer 4* but that might not be possible within budget. Edit: It should be three nights from 25th August not September Thanks Drewb
