  1. This Hotel features the following amenities: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Room: $43.00 Tax & Fees: $12.89 Total: $55.89 This hotel was recommended in 75% of customer reviews and has a 3.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor. It wasn't what I was looking for, but it will suffice. Price savings were minimal versus booking directly. (The Akron area for HOTWIRE is quite large.) I used the HOTWIRE quick quote from this website. Note: The dates should read 9/27 - 9/28.
  2. My first bid was $30, and was accepted. I used the PRICELINE link from this website.
  3. Amenities: Airport Shuttle, Complementary Breakfast, Pool, High Speed Internet Access. I used the HOTWIRE link for this purchase.
  4. I started the bidding at $40, for 4 stars, downtown only - rejected. I added 3 1/2 stars, then 3 stars, both rejected. I then "jumped" the bidding to $42 by adding a zone that did not have at least 3 stars (free rebid). I continued this in $1 increments until my bid was accepted for $46. The zones I used were East, North, South, Grove City, and Ohio State. Hyatt On Capitol Square 75 East State Street Columbus, OH 43215 614-228-1234 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $46.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $46.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $15.07 (USD) Total Room Cost: $61.07 (USD) I used the PRICELINE link. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
  5. I originally tried 4* for $50, was rejected. Added 3.5*, upped to $55, was rejected. Added 3*, accepted. I realize this is ridiculously early, but I wanted to get a jump on a hotel for the Houston Marathon. I am really happy because this is in a great location to the start/finish. I used the PRICELINE link in this forum.
  6. I bid on different areas in Dayton on multiple days, multiple areas such as Fairborn, Dayton North, Downtown-South and Dayton South-Miamisburg (all for 9/18), sometimes as low as $35, sometimes as high as $50, 2.5* and 3*. All were rejected. I bid up to $50 Sunday, was rejected in multiple areas. On Monday, I bid $45 for Dayton-North, rejected, added downtown area and bid was accepted.
  7. Thanks to this forum, this was the hotel I was hoping/expecting to get from looking at the hotel list for HOTWIRE. (I know there is always the possibility Hotwire can add hotels that aren't on the list.) Worked like a charm, only a 1/4 mile walk to the nearest T station. I am running in 2010 (this will be Boston #3 for me), looking forward to it.
  8. Amenities listed were: Complimentary Breakfast Business Center High Speed Internet Access I thought this was a good rate, considering it is the weekend of the Boston Marathon. I used the HOTWIRE link from this forum.
  9. I tried $50 and $55 with no luck, including 3*, 3.5*, and 4*. I tried 4* for $60, bid was accepted. I realize the price may fall a little as it gets closer to the November date, but I like the security of having it locked up. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your bid/purchases. I think I screwed this one up and did not do so. My apologies.
  10. I started the bid at $50, with 4-star hotels. Rejected. I added 3.5-star hotels. Rejected. I added 3-star hotels and received the Residence Inn. I am happy with this. (The Residence Inn isn't on the Priceline list.) I used the PRICELINE link from this forum.
