  1. why'd you remove my post regarding my awful experince at the tudor and hotwire's lack of action?
  2. well, we stayed at the tudor on the weekend. beware. this is a hotwire 3 star, as is the holiday inn. the holiday inn is great. free parking, beach access, holiday inn quality standards. our friends stayed there. paid $40/night plus taxes. they pricelined the same day i hotwired the tudor. the tudor it is not a 3 star by anyone's standards. the room had an odour. it was tiny. the bathroom was gross. paint and construction damage in the tub. water barely comes out of the shower head. the bed's springs poked through the mattress and the 2 pillows they give you, are flatter than an unfolded towel. we asked for extra pillows but they didn't have any. plus they charged us an extra $20 per night for 2 beds and $2/night for a safe in the room that we didn't request or use. no fitness ctr, pool or beach access. to make matters worse, we found out their rate would have been cheaper, after taxes for a room with 2 beds than i got from hotwire. our friends requested double rooms at the holiday inn as priceline customers and got no hassle or extra charges. oh ya....if you like music and noise all night(like till 6am) you got it. the walls and ceilings are paper thin. you think hotwire was interested in reimbursing us at all, after i told them all this? ya right.
  3. confort inn's are 1 or 2 stars with priceline. i only go 3 star and up and never had this issue. i'm one for one with hotwire though. but i guess a 3 star on hotwire is really 2 or less. you've been a lot of help. thanks.
  4. i would be surprised if priceline and this hotel have an agreement. TOBB does not show it in their list and no customers ever posted the tudor. also, i know that the upcharge is being imposed by the hotel. i said that in my first post and.....they will definately charge me the premium. they made it crystal clear on the phone. i have used priceline over 100 times in the last 3 years in many different cities. whether ahead of time or at check in, many of those times i have requested a room with 2 beds and have never been asked to pay extra by the hotel. i haven't been that fortunate. believe me.....priceline hotels give their guests a double room if available at no extra charge.
  5. thanks. i'll keep that in mind if i ever use hotwire again, which is unlikely. their ratings seem generous and the upcharge for a room with 2 beds is a joke.
  6. by the way. you have the holiday inn as a hotwire 3 star in south beach as well: Miami (South Beach) 4* The Palms Amenities: Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business 4* Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Amenities: Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool , Fitness, Laundry 3* Holiday Inn South Beach Amenities: Restaurant, Golf, Laundry 3* Richmond Hotel Amenities: Boutique, Beachfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business, Tennis 3* Tudor Hotel and Suites Amenities: <none supplied by user> (believed to be: Beach Access, Restaurant, Golf, Business, Laundry)
  7. here are the details for this place: South Beach - See map Selected amenities include: Near Beach, Restaurant(s), Golf Nearby, Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service). View complete amenity list and description Best Value! $65per room per night up to $65 now. i was on TOBB before i bought this room. priceline has the holiday inn as their only 3 star in south beach. i guess i was hoping it was the same for hotwire. i found this site afterwards. this room will end up costing me $90/night for a room with 2 double beds. i can get a rate of $84 through other non-bidding sites or directly through the hotel. they say this up-charge is only for hotwire. great.
  8. you can add the tudor hotel and suites to the south beach 3 stars. i thought i was getting the holiday inn-south beach but no....i got this place which i have found terrible reviews for and i called them to ask for a double room and they want $20 extra per night paid to the hotel for a room with 2 double beds. i am a long time, satisfied priceline user and this was my first hotwire experience. probably the last. never been asked for extra money for 2 double beds with priceline hotels. this place isn't on the 3 star list for priceline. not looking forward to it. canada.
