  1. My first night of bidding. Three seperate hotels for our stay won. For our arrival night I bid $45.00 and was approved for the Hilton. I decided to bid again for our stay the departing night which is on 7/12/09. I bid approx. 5 minutes later same amount for a 3* and was returned successful only it was the Doubletree airport location this time. Same bid $45.00. FYI, my other successful bid this stay was a 4* which was won for $85.00, location The Edgewater.

  3. That is what I was kind of questioning regarding myself and could not remember if I had put number of guests at 4 which obviously I did not per your clarification. My confusion probably came from a night of searching of options where I was able to list the total number of guests. Thank you for the clarification. As far as the other two wins I will be glad to post them. I had made a beginner error in my haste and did not go through the online PRICELINE link as is preferred and it was pointed out on my first post and I did not want to violate further protocols by listing them as I won all rooms within 30 minutes of each other. Will be glad to post and note the suggestion for future reference. Thank you.
  4. I found this thread before I posted a similar concern. I recently booked 3 seperate hotels via Priceline and all were booked for 4 people (2 adults 2 children). I read the Priceline caption that said only accomodations for 2 were guaranteed. Did I miss something along the way? Can't you reserve for 4 people? One of my reservations was for a 4 star in Seattle and I was given the Edgewater. When I called they said I would be charged a $10.00 upgrade in order to have 2 beds. They also said since I went through a "third party" demeanor was almost like "second rate customer" I felt, they could not do anything other than what they were doing. I said fine. I guess I need to read more I would assume when you bid with 4 people and win the bid at the price awarded that is what you would pay. This was my first time........wasn't there an option to tell how many people or is it always based on 2? The other two "wins" were the Hilton and Doubletree near the SeaTac airport. One said a room with doubles would be no problem the other said all they could do is put in a "request" for 2 beds. Is that the way it goes?
  5. I read many post on both HOTWIRE and Priceline and ended up giving it a shot on PRICELINE. I wanted a 4* in the Pike Place area for 7/5/09-7/7/09. The prices have been running around $107 today but saw where others have been paying less but with the holiday and late notice I had little doubt I would get my first offer accepted. I was figuring on the Westin, anyway, I bid $85.00 and thought we will see and it was accepted, however, it is the Edgewater. It says its Seattle's only waterfront hotel. It is a 4 star. Hoping for the best.
  6. Great board. I am so glad I found it just wish I had a couple of weeks ago. I am reading as fast as I can so please forgive me if this is in the wrong area or already covered. We will be arriving in Seattle on 7/4/09. There is one 4* right now at $107 which appears to be either the Westin or Sheraton. The description apprears to cater to both based on the threads. My two questions are: 1. Today is Monday and we are arriving on Saturday. I see it has been much lower price wise should I wait until later in the week to see if it is going to go down or due to the holiday, season, etc. will it stay up. I see its been down in June though. 2. It appears everywhere in Seattle has pricey parking at hotels on top of rooms. When you win a bid on Hotwire is it for the room only and you are still responsible for parking? Thank you.
