  1. Not super excited about this one. Won on first bid. Had bid previously on a 4* in the same area using rebid zones, $70, $80, $90, $100 with no luck. I'm wondering if those prices might have come down if I had waited, but was worried high occupancy was driving the prices up, so I settled for less to save money. We always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  2. I always gage what to bid on priceline by comparing betterbidding with current prices on hotwire. The prices were $10 lower on hotwire two days ago, however I didn't have time to book. Wish I had. I probably would have won for the low $50s like many others on the forum. Hotwire said 3* in BWI for $75, so I started with 3* at $54, denied. Added rebid zone at $60. denied. Added rebid zone at $63. Denied. added final rebid zone at $66 and won. We always use the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE buttons. Thank you for this forum!
  3. Won on first bid... probably could have gone lower to start. I'm pleased with the win... hotel looks nice. Bid day before check in. we always use the hotwire and PRICELINE links. thanks for the site!
  4. Two days of trying, starting bidding at $69 and increasing by $2 up to $87 for zones Del Mar, San Diego Coastal and Downtown for 3.5*... adding rebid zones. No wins. Tried again today (the day before trip) starting at $75, increasing by $5 until won this hotel at $90. Looks nice. We always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons. Thank you for this site.
  5. Hi... Just wanted to let others know I bid starting at $90 all the way to $135 for a 4* in USE, USW using rebid zones for 5/23 -5/26 and got nothing. Finally went to different site and selected a 2star with good reviews in the area I wanted for $118 after taxes, mainly because I was guaranteed two beds and I wasn't feeling patient. Is there something going on this week? or has summer travel started up stronger this year? I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons. thank you so much!
  6. I used the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. I always check HOTWIRE first as I find that if I bid 20-30% lower on priceline than hotwire's lowest price, that is usually a good starting place. Based on wins on the forum and HOTWIRE showing a 4* at $65, I began bidding on 3.5* Arlington-Grand Prairie at $40. denied. offered to allow me to win if I added $15 to the bid... rejected offer. added Grand Prairie South, $42. denied. added Garland North, $44. denied. added Garland, $46. denied. added Hurst, $47. Price accepted. Thanks for this forum. We tell everyone about it!
  7. First bid $35 for 2.5*. added 2* and rebid with $37 and won. Would have played more hardball with it, but we were booking it the night of and I needed to win it. With tax came to $50.46. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  8. First I bid $47. rejected. Then I waited 24 hrs and bid $52 and won. Taxes added $15/night. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  9. first I bid $59 on 2.5* and above in Kansas City West. Rejected. Then I added the location to KC Downtown and upped it to $62 for the same star rating and it was rejected. Then I added the location Kansas City Airport (MCI) and lowered my price to $42 and won. Tax was an extra $11.26/night. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  10. Accepted first bid. With tax came to $42.56. I booked this the day of. I often book near the airport because they tend to have the least expensive hotels, they tend to be nicer/less-run-down, and quieter. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  11. Accepted first bid. Tax was about $15 extra a night. I booked this the a few days in advance. I always use the Priceline and Hotwire buttons
  12. I don't remember specific details of this bid... I just remember researching quite a bit because it was for my birthday and it was a last minute decision... so I probably booked the day before or day of. I wanted a 4* so it would feel nicer than when we travel for work and that's exactly what we got with the Grand Bohemian... it was a beautiful, wonderful property! And I remember being pleased with the price of $149, because that was fairly competitive with what HOTWIRE was doing for 4* locations. Tax was an extra $24/night!! yowsers! I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  13. I remember bidding this slowly changing the location, but maintaining the 4* rating because this trip was a work trip for our employee and his wife and I wanted to get them a nice place to enjoy. I was pleased with the price even though it took me a while to get it. Tax added $18/night. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons.
  14. We always do! several times in fact! :) I've been wondering... does it help you to use the buttons only *if* we book in that time? or is it pay per click? because I probably click them 3-4x each booking... because I take several days to do the transaction.
  15. First I bid $42. rejected. Then I waited 24 hrs and bid $45. They offered to book the hotel if I'd increase my price by $12. I declined the offer, as i've found that they will do it for less. I then bid $52 and won on 6/8/10 for the following night's stay. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE buttons. I've also found that it's a good idea to check prices on hotwire because I can usually save 30% bidding on PRICELINE compared to HOTWIRE's best price. This is helpful for small towns like Joliet because not a lot of people post about these towns and figuring out what 30% off would be helps me figure out a starting bid.
  16. price accepted on first attempt. Bid just $1 more than getting the warning sign that says "Past results say this bid has no chance of winning." But this is the first time $1 more than that sign has worked for me. taxes after Priceline accepted bid page were $12.70, making the total $60.70. We always book just 2-3 days out and sometimes the day of, as in this case. Thanks Better Bidding! You've saved us a lot of money since we started using your site last year. We tell everyone about you!
  17. We are interested in booking a hotel 10/28/09-10/31/09 in Georgetown. Please help us identify this one? 3* Georgetown Hotel Non-smoking Fitness center Restaurant WiFi Thank you!
  18. Began by choosing 3* in downtown Pittsburgh at $40 and was rejected. Then tried $48 2.5* in downtown and was rejected. Then tried $51 2.5* in downtown and south side areas and won and was bumped up to the 3.5* Marriott Center City. :)
