  1. According to the booking information on my account, the amenities for the hotel we booked were: Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Checking HOTWIRE today, I see a 4* waterfront hotel listed for $224 again, nothing at this rate.
  2. Finally bit the bullet and booked the hotel I'd been watching as it went from $226/night to $192/night from 09/07 - 09/10. It turned out to be the Westin Boston Waterfront. Did start the purchase from the HOTWIRE link from this website. It had a 95% approval rate so we'll see how it goes. Thanks for your help!
  3. After starting my search with the HOTWIRE link from this board, I found the following amenities for the 4* Boston Waterfront hotel: Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Free Internet In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Based on that, I'd assume it's the Westin Boston Waterfront? What are the odds the rate drops below $200 if I wait a couple more weeks?
  4. Planning a trip to Boston from 09/07-09/10. Need 3 rooms, 2 beds per room (guys weekend). Used the HOTWIRE link and found a 4* hotel in the waterfront area for $220 a night. We'd like to keep our budget around $200, so it's not that far off. Amenities are listed as: High-Speed Internet Access, Fitness Center, In-room accessibility, Smoke Free Rooms, Roll-in shower. Anyone know what hotel this might be? Will I have a better chance at a lower rate if I wait a couple more weeks?
  5. Hello, I'm planning a trip to Boston 09/07 through 09/10 for 6 people in which we'll need 3 rooms with 2 double/queen beds. I've used Priceline enough and know that getting a room with 2 beds isn't guaranteed, so I'm leery of going that route. I've never used Hotwire. If I select a "hot rate" is that taking the same chance as Priceline with the beds per room?
  6. We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay near the IL/WI border. After checking around for prices, Deerfield seemed like the best bang for the buck. Started out bidding at $40 for 3.5* in Deerfield and was given the option to rebid right away at $47. Went back, added a zone and my bid for $43 was accepted. Pretty happy with the deal. As always, started on Better Bidding and used the PRICELINE link.
  7. After playing around for a couple of days trying to get something downtown, specifically the Hilton City Center, I could not find a price to my liking. I'm sure Summerfest has a lot to do with that. After researching which hotels show up in each area on this forum and utilizing the PRICELINE link, I was able to get this location which looks pretty nice. I started bidding at $45 and went up in $5 increments utilizing rebid zones and such. So, thanks to betterbidding.com, I hope we have a good ol' fashioned family good time vacation!
  8. After going round and round bidding and rebidding using different zones and getting email offers to rebid, I finally settled on bidding $55 for Lansing (not just East Lansing) and won the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center. It's a home game weekend for Michigan State, so I figure most of my bids got rejected due to lack of availabilty. (Or, they just don't like me, but I'm going with the previous thought). Since its a family trip, we booked two rooms and I'm excited to see what looks to be a nice pool and complimentary breakfast buffet. So, that alone could add value to the stay. Here are the details: Ramada Lansing Hotel And Conference Center 7501 West Saginaw Highway Lansing, MI 48917 517-627-3211 Check-In: Friday, October 15, 2010-03:00 PM Check-Out: Sunday, October 17, 2010-12:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night):$55.00 (USD) Number of Rooms:2 Number of Nights:2 Room Subtotal:$220.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$38.84 (USD) Total Room Cost:$258.84 (USD) And, of course, I started by using this site's Priceline link.
  9. Started bidding at $53, went to $58, $60, and finally $63 before being accepted by the Hyatt Regency Crown Center. I had seen the Hyatt won at $55 and was trying to avoid the Hyatt and win the Hotel Phillips. Nothing against the Hyatt as I've stayed there before and its a very nice facility. I was just hoping to stay in the power and light district. Oh well, I can use the walking at night I guess. Hyatt Regency Crown Center 2345 Mcgee Street Kansas City, MO 64108 816-421-1234 Check-In: Sunday, August 15, 2010-03:00 PM Check-Out: Monday, August 16, 2010-12:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night):$63.00 (USD) Number of Rooms:1 Number of Nights:1 Room Subtotal:$63.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees:$18.84 (USD) Total Room Cost:$81.84 (USD) And, of course, I utilized the link for PRICELINE from this website to begin my bidding.
  10. Utilized the Priceline link trying to secure a location in downtown Denver. First bid was $45 and was rejected. Second bid was $55 and was accepted for the Hyatt Regency Convention Center in downtown Denver. Was hoping for a different property but am certainly not complaining about the price. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $23.24 Total Charges*: $133.24
  11. Started by using the PRICELINE link Starting bidding at $45/night and utilized instant rebidding by selecting other zones after bids were rejected. Went $45, $50, $53, $58, $65 and was finally accepted at $69. Pretty happy with results because I got the location I wanted. Hyatt Grand Regency Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $69.00 Subtotal: $138.00 Taxes & Fees: $26.40 Total Charges*: $164.40
  12. I failed to post my win after bidding through the Priceline link on 11/21: Hyatt Regency Crown Center 2345 McGee Street KC, MO 64108 1 Night 12/05 1st Bid: $55.00: Accepted! taxes and fees: $17.34 Total: $72.34
  13. First time using PRICELINE, after much research on this website, and got a win during my first attempt. The Westgate Hotel - 4* 1055 Second Ave San Diego, CA 3 Nights: 7/31-8/03 Offer price: $79 Taxes + fees: $40.90 Total Charges: $277.90 I'm pretty excited because I had reserved a room (fully refundable) earlier at the same rate at a 2.5* hotel in Old Town prior to doing some research on this process. I'm much happier staying closer to where I wanted to be originally for the same price. Of course, I used the PRICELINE link.
