I was very impressed with this hotel. Rooms have been recently updated. Room was located near the elevator, but this was no problem to us. We received a 2 room suite with 2 beds in the bedroom with a widescreen LCD. Bedding was luxurious. Bath was spacious, with partition between toilet and sink/counter area and shower/tub. Living room had a sofabed, desk, LCD widescreen, and a bar with minifridge, microwave, sink, and cabinet. While the glassware and coffee mugs were nice, I am paranoid about using re-usable glassware after seeing the hidden cameras on TV/internet, so I wish they used disposables... Room was spotless and everything was new. TV remotes were sluggish, and may have needed new batteries. Room climate control was inoperable and room was hot when we entered...desk clerk offered to check us into another room or send up a technician. A reset switch was tripped on the unit, and the A/C was fixed quickly...but the room felt warmer than the thermostat indicated, but was never uncomfortable. The hotel is located in a business park, and is very quiet. Not many restaurants close by. The staff will provide directions to area malls, which are 10-15 minutes away. The hotel is situated about 15 minutes from either uptown or Carowinds. It is even closer to the airport.
