  1. I learned something new, didn't know to click on furthur for more info. - thanks for the tip. Add to my original list: Spa Children's Activity 4 out of 5 on Tripadvisor. Tripadvisor had the Don Caesar listed as a 5 *, and has a spa. Tripadvisor had Tradewinds Island Grand listed as a 4*, but I did not see a spa listed. Please advise your best guess as to what hotel. Thanks. I will use your HOTWIRE link to purchase.
  2. For dates Nov 24, 26, 27 Icons for: Resort, Beachfront, Fitness ctr, pool, restaurant, business ctr, hi speed internet, tennis. St. Petersburg Fl beach zone. I'm guessing it's the Tradewinds Island Grand or Don Ceasar- for $72. on HOTWIRE. Thanks. Debbie.
  3. HI- just to add some info. I live in Collinsville. The Doubletree has just gone thru a huge renovation and re-opened. I have had drinks in the lobby bar and it is stunning. Just like a luxury hotel in Chicago. It also has an upscale, (expensive) steakhouse on the Property called Porter's. It is very close to downtown St. Louis- about 10 miles on the hi-way. I'm glad to hear the original poster liked it. It is located on the outskirts of Collinsville, about 6 miles to Fairview Heights. Address is on Eastport Plaza Drive, Collinsville, IL.
  4. I figured I'd get this hotel from the info your site provides, and was right. Kept my bid in accordance with it's average reviews. The AARP rate was $144. nite on Expedia. During the summer they are having a free concert on Friday nites on their patio, so that's a nice bonus. Happy with the price and location. Started bidding at $44 and worked my way up in $2 & $3 increases. Used your link to PRICELINE. Had bid on 3 1.2 * up to $73 with no luck in the downtown Boulder zone. Thanks for all your tips and info. Cardsfan.
  5. I started at $33. per nite and worked my way up in $5 increases. Finally got a room for $53. It includes hot breakfast and is a non-smoking property (we don't smoke). Total with taxes $67.11. And used your link to PRICELINE to bid. Very happy with the deal. It was $97. total with taxes included to book it directly with Country Inn & Suites website.
  6. Hi- I can help a little. As a tourist, we prefer the NMA-River North area as a 1st choice. Reason, I'd hope to be within walking distance of the El (subway), which can get you almost anywhere. My 2nd choice would be Millinium, Loop Grant Park- which has it's own advantages. (close to Millinium Park for cheap overnite parking if you have a car) I'm new to bidding, but we just got a room in the Hyatt Regency- Millinium, loop, grant park zone , and had been turned down for that same price in the NMA river north zone. $62. Sept 5&6. Both of these areas would be centrally located for a tourist. Chicago Transit Authority has a website with maps that they will mail to you.
  7. Thanks- I have been using your link to PRICELINE.
  8. For Sept. 4, 1 nite. I want to bid on Bloomington, Il, city zone. I see the highest hotel is rated 2 1/2* on the page that lists their rates. When I go to the page to "name your own price" to bid, it has 3* hotels available to bid on. How do I find out which, if any, hotels are 3* in Bloomington?
  9. My dates were flexible, so I tried bidding on a different date. Won the Hyatt Regency- $62. nite, Sept 5&6 (4* Millinium, Loop, Grant Park zone) Total bill including taxes $151. for 2 nites. I made a separate post on the winning bid. Used your link to PRICELINE. Thanks for all the help since I am new at this. I was suprised at the deal I got Labor Day weekend and during Jazz Fest, which is held right by my hotel. Cardsfan.
  10. Continuing from my original post, The Hyatt website has these dates for $223. per nite, for a total of $515 including taxes. Much cheaper on PRICELINE.
  11. Won on 1st try. Started out with 4* N. Michigan Ave at $52 Added 4* Millinium, Loop, Grant Park zone at $57 Added Lincoln Park 4* won at $62. Total including all taxes $151.03 Used you link to PRICELINE.
  12. Thanks for the help. I am giving up on finding a deal for these dates.
  13. I live near this hotel. It was only called Hotel Collinsville during the renovation. It is now a Doubletree. Your websitse may want to update it's info. Cardsfan.
  14. Forgot to add- I used your link to get to PRICELINE to bid... Thanks for ALL the help- betterbidding rocks! Before now, I was afraid to bid. Cardsfan.
  15. Won on 1st bid. Radisson website had it for $109/nite.
  16. The best rate I've seen is on www.hotrooms.com, which is a chicago website. They have the Comfort Suites Downtown for $159/nite Plus 15% tax total of $370 for the 2 nites. one queen bed. (Hotrooms has cheaper, The Congress Hotel is $129.., but it gets bad reviews.) I'm trying to stay under a total of $300 for the 2 nites, which would be a Max bid on PRICELINE of $130 per nite. I believe that convention is the problem. I'll keep you posted. thanks.
  17. I won for dates of Aug. 9 and 10. 1st bid accepted. Hilton Garden Inn- north Colorado springs. $47. bid. Used your PRICELINE link. Total charges $111.79 for 2 nites.
  18. I Won. Since this is my 1st time bidding, I did not track of the exact details of my bid. I won Hyatt Reg. Convention Center For 1 nite, August 8, $67.00 Downtown Denver. Thanks for all the info on your site. I used your link to PRICELINE. Cardsfan.
  19. This is my 1st time at this. I've been bidding for about 5 days. Still no luck. Bid on Milliniumum Park and N. Mich. Ave 4* - have worked up to $125 with no luck. date July 10 & 11. Also, bid on N. Mich. Ave 3*, 3 1/2 *, and 4*- up to $95. Any reason of low availability? I know the Cubs/Cardinals are in town that weekend. I have been using the PRICELINE link thru your website. I checked your Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and I'm bidding above some other wins for those dates. THANKS for all advice.
