  2. After some further investigation, compairing facilitys, stars and reviews on Tripadvisor, I decided to go for a 4* with a feedback of 4,5 of 5, and 500+ reviews, which I figured out must be Novotel Paddington. And that hotel has cost between £248 a week ago and up to £338 in my searches. This morning while checking the rates it again was back at £248, so I pulled the trigger, and indeed it was the Novotel Paddington. Will get back with all details soon as it is not listed yet.
  3. Yeah true...thanks for your advice. Ive already have a cheap backup-room booked as a last resort. Might go for some more stars as well... B)

  6. I stayed here for three days mid-january 2012. I was hoping and was almost 100% sure to win this hotel based on the descriptions. It suited me perfectly, close to Penn Stn. Check-in was quick, check-out even quicker. They charge your card with $135, to cover any phone-calls and movies. My Metro Room was small, there was no space to place my suitcase flat on the floor, it has to be opened upon on the bed. Bed was comfy. However, I was alone, so not much of a problem. really. Housekeeping was good. Skip the Tick-Tock diner and turn right into next street, pass BHPhoto and eat at The skylight Diner instead, their kitchen IS open all night long. For my $98/night it was perfect. Close to the Garden and lot else.
  7. Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. $98/day that is. In all $367.
  8. To sum it up..those days were changed to 1/10 and leaving on 1/13-12. However I got a decent deal @Travelzoo.com for Fairfiled Inn & Suites, Chelsea (better location), $129/day = $456, free brkfst/wifi. I've got the possibilty to cancel, as well. But I will still chase... The chase is over...just booked The New Yorker for $98/day on Hotwire. Will post details.
  9. I´m pretty sure you´ll like this hotel. I stayed there this January, it was then called 26 Fashion, but was sold to the Hilton group later.
  10. If I wasn't aware, I am now...the hotel does not show up now. :) But since my journey is not 100% confirmed it's not too much of a problem. :) Thanks anyway.
  11. Oops...a banana-peel.....:) Sorry to interfer, but still. I've been looking at the same hotel a few days earlier in January and I'm pretty sure it's Sheraton Tribeca. The funny thing is that you'll never get the same rate if you search twice in a row on that hotel, it's changing depending on the time of the say it seems, from $97 to $107! Rgds max
  12. Thank you. I'll think of it. I'm still un-decided if I should book now or stay calm until the day before my trip, after all it's january. But I also have the ESTA to take care of and they need an address for the first night. Might book the first night and then make a new booking when I'm on site in NY.....we ll see. Will follow up. rgds max
  13. Thanks guys. Yep I'll follow up. Ehh...down to $101/nite now... :) Btw, regarding this "Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases." Is it ok to bookmark those links and use the bookmark every time?
  14. Hi yet again...time to spend a few snowy days in NY again, approx 01/11/12-01/14/12. I've been searching Hotwire and ended up with a 4* in Soho, Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. $107/day and a whopping 100% recommended by Hotwire customers. It's tagged "Super Saver" Could it be this, 4* Sheraton Tribeca Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business? Btw, how many reviews is needed before it gets published? rgds max

  16. To sum it up, yep I switched to Fashion 26, and I did use your Expedia link. Thanks for your time.
  17. Thanks again. Since we will be sharing room this time, I've booked The New Yorker, but after checking Expedia.com and using FESTIVE10, the Fashion 26 will be some $80 cheaper.... Might switch hotel..... :) Anyway, thanks for your input regarding the MTE.
  18. Yeah will do. Btw, I compared The New Yorker on Hotwire, I think it is, 12/14-12/17 2010 tith 1/25-1/28 2011. $202 in dec, $119 in jan. :)
  19. Hi there, I've been using Hotwire on two occassions, very pleased with the outcome. And I really enjoy lurking around this board in search of a great deal Now my questions, 1st) late january 2011, can I expect the prices to drop a bit, compared to lets say december? 2nd) Why are there so few rooms with two twinbeds? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.
  20. The amenities listed are fitness center, restaurant, business center, and high-speed internet. Mixed reviews on TA, 77% rate. The location seems to be perfect, a stones throw to Macy's, Penn Station, ETB etc...
