Cross compared prices that hotwire was offering. 3* hotels in the area were actually more desirable to me than some of the 3.5* based on tripadvisor reviews, etc. First bid, only included Tech Center South, 3*, $35. Took a few minutes, but accepted. Thanks!

Hi, I got $51 on HOTWIRE, 4/8-4/9/11. A little bummed it wasn't HI, HI Express, or Staybridge, but oh well. here's hoping the shuttle shows on time. Started out with $120 for a 4 star in Empire State Building, denied. Expanded search to include Midtown East and bumped to $125, got the Grand Hyatt. Wish it had been one of the other 4 stars, but still beats the HOTWIRE prices.

From the list, it looks to be the Fairfax: 4.5* Fairfax at Embassy Row (previously 4*) Amenities: Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis

Needed this neighborhood only, was hoping for a great rate at Wardman like some others got, no dice for me. (it's close to my apt, family coming to visit) Started at $85 for 4*, no dice Moved to $95 for 3*, no dice Moved to $80 for 2.5*, got the Courtyard by Marriott Northwest. I've stayed there before, it's plenty nice for the price.

I just re-searched it using your link. Searched 7/19-7/21, 1 Room, 2 Adults, refined it to Dupont/Embassy only, get a listing with 3*, 89/night.

Sun, Jul 19 to Tue, Jul 21, got offered 3* in Dupont Circle - Embassy Row for $89/night. Amenities are restaurant and business center. I'm guessing it's Hilton Washington, but that seems to be listed as 3.5* previously. Maybe downgraded?
