  1. Just a quick report back: Yellowdog was right on the hotel - no problems! and that philly cheesesteak was really, so good!! Thanks again! :)
  2. We'll probably take I-80 back. But why not post it for posterity - or other lucky and hungry travelers! We plan on hitting up PSH, since it's so nearby the hotel, fer shur! Thanks, again! :)
  3. I was shocked to land a hotel on my very first bid! Then I read some yelp reviews and now I'm really concerned. Doesn't sound like a 3*! Oh, well, hopefully we will get a good night's sleep between the Philadelphia museum on Friday and the Warhol Museum on Saturday. Used your PRICELINE link, as always. Thanks! :)
  4. Must have missed those choices, as I delayed and didn't know what to do w/Grad week making things go totally insane price-wise. Wasn't familiar w/Brockton or Staughton/Rockland areas. So I just booked this to get something within 45 mins of Boston. Booked directly w/ Holiday Inn website MANSFIELD-FOXBORO AREA 31 HAMPSHIRE STREET MANSFIELD MA 02048 Room Rate Per Night: Sat 17 May 2014 - $153.00 (USD) Sun 18 May 2014 - $148.00 (USD) Tax: $29.20 (USD) Estimated Total Price: $330.20 (USD
  5. Very pleased! Couldn't wait to get your take on this hotwire hotel, since I was not willing to miss this great deal. 3.5 star - had to be Sheraton Framingham, right? YES! This is the hotel we wanted from the start! But when I was initially searching for our 2 nights to attend a graduation, we only saw it come up in the high 200s. Saturday is the tough night. I guess alot of people must have cancelled out for Sunday, since this came up today for Sunday, 5/18. Sheraton Framingham Hotel 1657 Worcester Rd., Framingham, MA 01701 Rate per night $93.00 Nights 1 Rooms (2 adults) 1 Subtotal $93.00 Tax recovery charges + fees $20.34 Hotwire total $113.34 It's coming up on Priceline Express for $145/night on 5/8, too. Got a great deal. Hope this helps others looking to move from a further out or lower-grade hotel. :)
  6. Please help me identify... Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness CenterPool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Wheelchair accessible Looks great for grad dates, may want to grab this quickly! ! Of course I have clicked Hotwire and Priceline many times to book and research my trip. Thanks for your help.
  7. Thanks for your help. I was really trying to stay under $100/night; not looking good at all. But we have stayed at the Framingham Sheraton before and over $300 for 2 nights is more than we wanted to spend. Don't know this area at all, but maybe I should i start another thread to get your guess on this one ($50 less than Framingham) PRICELINE EXPRESS 3 Star Hotel in Stoughton - Rockland Area for $111/night Free BreakfastFree Internet in roomIndoor Swimming PoolFree ParkingBusiness CenterFitness Center
  8. Bid $53 for an economy-sized car, then $55 for midsize. They made me an offer for $56 (and with fees of about $56), I got it for a little bit less than I was able to book a Compact car directly at Budget.com using their pay now rates. Came to $225 total for 3 days rental. I'm good with that! As always, I used your HOTWIRE links for research and clicked thru on your PRICELINE link for the bid, each and every time. Thanks! :)
  9. Attending a graduation. Blargh, the rates are so high!! Trying to save some money to give a nicer grad gift, but not willing to go 1 star... Hope you could help me identify the 2 star hotel we were offered on Express Deal for $117 in Framingham, MA. ($125 for King.) Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet in public areasFree ParkingPets AllowedBooked a rental car using your PRICELINE link, and for researching and bidding on hotels, too, as always! Thanks!
  10. Your Offer Price: $32.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 2 SubTotal: $64.00 Taxes and Fees: $28.06 Total Rental Car Charges: $92.06 You saved 32%!* HOTWIRE had $39.95/day or $116. incl tax and fees. Used your HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links for research and bidding. Thanks! :)
  11. I made a mistake and bid $15 for an economy car. (I always confuse economy w/compact - they're both small, but which is smaller?) When my bid was accepted, they offered me an upgrade to compact for $1/day, so I took it. Pretty sure I could have gotten it for $14. Still saved $20 for the week vs renting on Hotwire. :P Thanks again! As always, I used your hotwire and PRICELINE links for research and bidding. Your Offer Price: $15.00 (per day) Upgrade Charge: $1.00 (per day) Final Offer Price: $16.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 7 SubTotal: $112.00 Taxes and Fees: $89.03 Total Rental Car Charges: $201.03
  12. Thanks, Yellowdog. Those are nice options! I use your links for searching and bidding, every time. Will start the other threads, as suggested if I get a second to breathe later today. Otherwise, asap. Thanks again! :)
  13. Could you please help identify this hotel? Star Rating: 4½ Star Guest Score: Rated 8.0out of 10 (or higher)guest favorite Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet in room Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Business Center Casino Fitness Center Check In: Tue Oct 15, 2013 Check Out: Thu Oct 17, 2013 As you know, I love bidding and saving on hotels and rental cars over the years, but I am a total a newbie when it comes to bidding for our Vegas vacation trip. So I'm thinking Priceline Express for the Vegas portion. We are looking to spend Tues-Fri night on the Strip. Wake up on Sat to drive out to the Grand Canyon for 2 days. Then Sunday and Monday night in Summerlin before catching our morning flt back East on Tuesday. Seems to be a nice option for relaxing and hitting some fun buffets, and we could drive into Vegas proper if we really need more of the noise, smoke and glitz. Any good game plans to help me out? Roughly speaking, we were budgeting $100/night for accommodations, give or take. Thanks!
  14. Really weird story w/this one! I bid $66 for a compact car. Got the screen telling me that it's not going to fly with a recommendation of $86. So tried $68, since I saw a price of $109 on Hotwire. Figured I'm still ahead of the game. When I got to the next page - the apology page - your bid is too low, you can bid again right now if you raise your bid above 69. I bid $70 and again got another chance offered by their partners: Avis and Budget came up with Compact cars for $66. I jumped on it rather than continue to bid and maybe getting shut out on a lower priced car and (heaven forbid) have to pay more as all of the cars get rented up each weekend. The strange part is the offer was lower than the $70 bid! Sure it's an Economy and not a Compact, but I will take it. And I did. :) Daily Rate (2 x $66.64): $133.28 Subtotal: $133.28 Taxes and Fees: $44.24 Estimated Total Rental Car Charges: $177.52 (Amount due at pick-up) I think I'm totally okay with that! :D As always, I used the PRICELINE link provided by this board. Thanks, guys!
  15. I have been bidding all week so we could take a weekend getaway. After landing a rental about a month ago (exactly a month ago!) for $25, I knew it was going to be an uphill struggle. Considering this is the height of weekend getaway season, I'm very pleased we don't have to take a Greyhound Bus to Boston to pay a visit on the next generation. Who doesn't love cutie-pie babies, am I right?! :) For the 3 of us, this is a bit more costly than taking a bus. But it's also a LOT more comfy and convenient in the end, especially during this extended heatwave. Your Offer Price: $47.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 2 days Subtotal: $94.00 Taxes and Fees: $41.31 Total Charges: $135.31 Lowest Published Price: $375.47 (USD) Total Savings:*$240.16 (USD) (You saved 64%) * This is your savings on the total cost of your rental car when compared to the lowest published rental car rate available at time of booking for the itinerary and rental car company shown. Of course I used your PRICELINE link to bid each and every time I placed a bid, all week long. You guys rawk! :D

  17. Just reporting back that we were very pleased and surprised by our trip/stay at the Radisson. The hotel was pretty full with a large wedding going on the day we arrived. So they could not accommodate a request for a King bed, but they gave us a very nice corner Queen room. Although the sleep number bed didn't work, we didn't mind too much. It was a great deal, as far as we were concerned. Thanks again!! :D
  18. Offer Price $51.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.04 Total Charged to Card: $66.04 Here is my bidding history (I would have been okay with Mt Vernon zone, too): 1/31 2.5* Mt Vernon $36 added glen burnie $38 added baltimore west $40. logged off and back on through the provided PRICELINE link in your signature line. 3* - inner harbor $39 added glen burnie $42 added balt west $45 added stadium $46 added mt vernon $47 === Today, 2/1: 2.5* - mt vernon, bid $39 added glen burnie $41 added baltimore west $45. Logged off and back on using the link in your signature line: 3* - inner harbor $45 added glen burnie $47 added balt west $49 added stadium $50 added mt vernon $51 Won the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore YAY! Hotwire is showing this for $61 now ($76.22 w/fees). $10 savings makes a happy difference on a tight budget -- works out for a decent breakfast or a nice coffee and pastry break! So the reviews are pretty sorry for this hotel. But what do you want, really? It's one night and close to everything! Thanks again, Thereuare, Aaron and friends!! B)
  19. Thank you, AaronJB! I am trying to Priceline it (and will list details if I win a bid for these dates), but I will report back here if I end up going with Hotwire. All three possibilities look fairly acceptable. As always, I use the provided PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to search and bid on/book my trips! Love this website!!
  20. Appreciate the input. I ended up staying with my nieces (much to their chagrin). I would have followed up with news if I had bid and won anything, just so you all know. :)
  21. Yes, that is correct: Lemont-Dale Summit zone. It worked out really well! The place was a ghost town... the entire town was a ghost town! Guess everyone was already home for the holidays. We were really glad to take the trip in 2 segments. The ride home wasn't too bad, either! :)
