  1. I am looking at booking the north strip for either the Venetian/Palazzo or Wynn/Encore as well. I am working under the following assumptions. I am looking at booking for April 16-21, 4 days, non-weekend. When I price out the Venetian for that time on Priceline I get the following: Room Cost (details)$166.65 Rooms1 Nights4 Room Subtotal$666.60 Taxes & Fees$87.16 Total Priceline Charges$753.76 Misc. Fee*$20.88 Resort Fee*$156.00 Fees Subtotal*$176.88 Total Cost$930.64 I highlighted the Resort Fee Total because it is $176.88 which coresponds to a Express deal for the same time, 4/16 - 4/21 and the express deal pricing is: Summary Of Charges Price per Night:$113 Rooms:1 Nights:4 Room Subtotal:$452.00 Trip Protection:$0.00 Taxes and Fees:$87.68 Priceline Total Charges:$539.68All prices are in USD. Additional Mandatory Fee:$176.88----This fee is collected at the hotel Total Price:$716.56 That is the only 5 Star - Northeast Strip hotel available for my dates. Trump is Northwest (no Casino, so easy to spot, under the old zones) So the cost per night for their fee matches at $44.22/ night. When I search the Wynn, for 3 nights on Priceline I get $140 for my dates, which constitutes 4 days. So, $35 per night. + their Misc fees $18.72. The misc Fees are exactly 13.37% which just so happens to be the exact % of taxes charges on hotel rooms in Vegas. According to your express deal, for 3 nights they are charging your $105, so $35/night. Long story short, if your priceline express deal shows a Additional Mandatory fee or resort fee, or whatever of a certain amount, you can probably narrow it down. Wynn/Encore = $35/night + 13.37% = $39.68 Venetian/Palazzo = $44.22/night I currently live in Vegas and swear by betterbidding for all my hotel needs. Hope this helps
  2. Based on the amenities of "Boutique hotel" I was confident we would get the Aladdin Holiday inn. I have stayed here before and it is just fine for the price. We are coming in for a wedding and the going rate for hotels in the area was about $150-$200 a night. Feel very good about this price. Amenities: Free Internet, Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower.
  3. I realize I am late on replying, but i wanted to report back on my stay. This hotel is in a FANTASTIC location. We got upgraded because it was my fiance's birthday. Had a view of the Mediterranean, and were only steps away from the Casino Square. Would highly recommend this place for the price. The restaurant on the roof is great and right down the hill the there another roof top restaurant with Happy hour.
  4. Had trouble figuring out which hotel this might be. Went back and forth from tripadvisor, hotwire, betterbidding and various other booking sites. Liked the 4.5 stars and the area so i figured any of the choices would work. Ended up getting one that I did not even see. Looks like a great hotel in a great area. Does not look like there was much of a discount by using hotwire. Hard to tell though because every website I try to find the price on says it is sold out for those dates. Overall, happy with it. Should be added to the possibilities for hotwire, 4.5 stars in the area. Hotel Amenities Free Internet Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessibility In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  5. Booked this hotel using hotwire on 8/1/14. This was not in a list of hotels currently provided, but based on the amenities and the fact that it was a 4.5 out of 5 stars when checking tripadvisor (only one in the general price range with 4.5 stars) I was fairly confident that it was going to be this hotel. Price is only about $30 less per night when using HOTWIRE, but over 2 nights for 2 rooms it adds up. $120 bucks savings. Very happy with the hotel, decently happy with the savings. Please add this 4.5 star hotel to the list of possibilities with the amenities: Hotel Amenities Free Internet Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access
  6. There is not much information out there regarding Monte Carlo, Monaco so I thought I would share my experience with 5 star searching. I was looking for a week solid on a hotel in Monte Carlo but could not narrow anything down. At time of posting you cannot "name your own price" on Price.line or book a PL express deal. There was one hotel in Monaco proper on HOT.WIRE, which by all accounts is going to be The Metropole Hotel. Based on the amenities and "last hotel won" information. Price at the time for 8/26/14 - 8/29/14 was $554 per night. Which i do not believe included access to their new "exclusive" pool. After an exhausting look I found what appears to be a great hotel, Porto Palace. Ended up paying $380 per night after taxes and everything. A very nice price for the hotel and much cheaper than the close to $1,000 per night at other 5 star hotels. Not including the Hot.wire option listed above, which actually would have been a great price. There was no option for booking this hotel on priceline or hotwire so I had to use booking dot com. Just thought I would add my .02 since I spent a ton of time researching the options with little to no information available. I will update after my stay to see if it was still a good idea to stay at Porto Palace.
  7. Tried bidding via PRICELINE a couple times, $191 & $216. Was offered a rebid if I raised my bid to $248. Looked at HOTWIRE and saw a 5 star hotel in London - Mayfair, SOHO, Piccadilly area for $232 so I decided to go with it. Was happy with all of the hotels that met the amenities list below. Mostly narrowed it down using the "deaf accessible" amenity. I think the list is down to 3 or 4 of the 5 star hotels using that one. Been booking so many hotels using betterbidding.com and priceline/Hotwire recently that I just decided any of those would do this time. Quite happy with the price and VERY happy with the hotel I got. AMENITY LIST: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking
  8. Right, being that it was the last hotel someone "won", in addition to the amenities listed, made me quite sure which hotel it would be. Thanks for the clarification.
  9. Got this hotel on Hotwire. Hotwire provided that this hotel was the last hotel "won" once I had selected it, so there was little doubt I would not get this hotel. The Hotel du Collectionneur 51 - 57 Rue de Courcelles, Paris, FR 75008 Great location, great reviews, looks to be a solid place. Below are the amenities. Hotel Amenities Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry Internet access Spa Services Accessibility In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Saved about $90 per night, USD. Once again, happy with what I got.
  10. Got this 5 star hotel booked for three nights, two of them weekend nights, in Rome. This hotel was not on the current list but none the less I am quite happy with the price. Shows on most sites for $330 per night. Bid: $119 $129 $141 $159 $181 $201 Winning bid $212 I figured I would be getting The Westin Excelsior, but knew I would be happy with any of the 5 stars in the area. Please update the current list to include this hotel as a possibility. I am traveling for a month through Europe and this is the second hotel I have booked, I will continue updating different cities as we book them.
  11. Just won this hotel in Central Florance. Columbus Hotel Florence Central Lungarno Colombo 22/A, Florence, Italy I was bidding on the 4* list of: Albani Florence Astoria A Boscolo Luxury Hotel De La Ville Hotel Hotel Ambasciatori Nh Anglo American Una Hotel Vittoria I pretty much got bagged with this one. It is in a great location but appears to be a 2 star at best. I guess that's the risk. The list should be updated to reflect this new hotel that has been added so that others know what they are getting into. Granted the price was pretty low. EDIT: It is NOT in a great location but Florence is small so its not a huge issue.
  12. I was bidding on Scottsdale and Scottsdale North, with both 4* and 3.5* checked. I won a hotel that was not on the list under either of those star levels. It says its under "Resort". Scottsdale Resort & Conference Center. I bid, 85, 96, and 97 and won at 97. Happy with the hotel and the location. It should be noted and I bid on the same day I was staying.
  13. WOn this on the first bid. Winning bid was $53 (i think, i booked this on 6/28/10) or so.
  14. Bid $55 at the double tree, rebid $57 and added Kansas City North, won the Double tree for 7/10/10. This bid took place on 6/28/10, and i bid today 7/7/10 and got Marriot for about the same price.
  15. Bid $50 in Overland Park Zone and got declined. Added rebid zone for 3.5* Kansas City North and bid $55, and won at the Marriot. Marriot was listed as Lenexa on the Hotel lists. Looks like they changed those up since i placed my last bid. Either way it works fine. This was for 7/10/10
  16. After 3 weeks of failed bids at 5* North, up to $117, I turned to 4* North and South and bid from $55-$92...at $92 i was offered a to raise my bid by $17 and I got the Paris. Since our trip is 1 week away I decided to raise my bid and get it over with. Must be a busy weekend in vegas because even on hotel websites they said that they were sold out. Didnt want to get stuck off the strip somewhere.
  17. I was not able to extend my stay. I tried to extend it for friday the 21st but it got declined. I have since been bidding daily; never going above $107, but have yet to win for 5/21 and 5/22. I am still trying
  18. Won the Wynn for thursday night. Am staying through 5/23 but booked for thursday in hopes to slip the sandwich and get upgraded. Its worked before.
  19. You're right, my mistake, i actually re bid in zone 1 (City Centre South) Which is closer to Amsterdam ArenA...where we will be watching the USA take on Holland in a soccer game (3/3/10) to prepare for the world cup, so i really didnt care which area it was going to be in! Sorry for the confusion.
  20. Won this after a rebid in the airport zone First bid was $100 Rebid 2 $110 and won 2 nights. This was my 3rd win for a trip that will take us to London and Amsterdam. Couldn't be happier so far and I have 2 more nights to get bids in at. I am breaking it up into 2 night stays to get a variety and just in case we do not like the locations of any hotels we get.
  21. Won this after bidding and rebidding for a 4* $67 first bid Rebid $72 with airport area selected
  22. Just wont a bid at $167 for 2 nights here. Bid 110, 125, 145, and won it at 167. Very happy with this.
