  1. Not what I was trying for...

Remembered this area from last year and won the Cresthill suites.

Noticed Priceline and Tripadvisor have upped the star rating on the Cresthill Suites from 2.5* to 3*.  I would disagree having stayed there.

Have to do work in Schenectady, tried for the Towneplace Suites or the Cresthill Suites.

1st Bid $55...got warning page price was too low and unlikley to win since average was $140. Ignored warning. Priceline rejected with a counter of adding $13 to bid again.

I declined their offer and reduced my stay 1 day and increased the bid by $7 to $62.

Got the Best Western. With Taxes and fees included, I saved $10 a night off Best Westerns Rack Rate.

Best Western Sovereign Hotel - Albany  2½ star
    SUNY Albany - Thruway Area
1228 Western Avenue, Albany, NY  12203-3326

  2. Working in Stevenson Al a few nights, worker recommended staying in Kimball TN. I saw a HIE 2.5*  in that area on Google maps and trip advisor said it was a 2.5*. Priceline did not list a 2.5* in the Kimball area but did list a 2.5* hotel 1 mile away in the Jasper area. Tried $30, $40, $50 and $55 with free bid zone in Kimball, Mounteagle... Priceline said thanks for bidding and sent me to no bid offers twice. Anything above $55 would be to close to HIE's rack rate of $85.

Tried Scottsboro Al area 2.5*. $35 rejected but if you increase your bid by $14 to $49 you can bid again. Declined offer and increased to $42 and free bid zone of Kimball Tn. Rejected. Increased bid to $45 and used free bid zone of Rainsville Al. Won the Comfort Inn & Suites. Their rack rate was $79.

  3. Yep, in my haste, I forgot to use your link...sorry.

I made up for it though and used your PRICELINE link again to obtain the $45 Crown Plaza in Grand Rapids again :-).

The Best Western is Ok but Old. You feel like you have stepped into the past when you walk in. I think they added just enough stuff or updated just enough stuff to barely qualify for 3*.

I got a handy cap room 314. The Hwy noise outside is a bit much. I could not drowned the hwy noise out with the AC fan because it is an old system also and the AC was not working plus it was a bit hot and stuffy.

I had to open the window and let in more hwy noise in to cool the room and try to sleep.

The room has an old thermostat box on the wall with a thumb wheel setting that throw the switch either to heat or cool.

The intake vent is in the bathroom partition wall and the exhaust vent is in the ceiling vestibule as you enter the room. You know, one of those old rooms.

The bathroom sink is very small, hardly enough room for your toiletries. It also has a very small and old analog black and white TV jutting out from the mirrors.

I can't say much about the area working nights but I do see a shopping complex across the way with Target, Best Buy...

FYI, A major hwy leading into Detroit HWY 96 is shut down for 6 more months.

Only 2 nights, I survived it.

  4. Bid $35 at Plano East for a 2* hotel for 3 nights, hoping for the Candlewood Suites… No go… but got 1 time offer of increase your bid by $9 to $44 dollars you can rebid now.

I suspected a upgrade in the works and tried it anyway.

I was upgraded to a 2.5* and got the following for $53 a night with taxes and fees.

Best Western Park Suites Hotel 2½ star

    Plano East

640 East Park Boulevard, Plano, TX 75074

Rack Rate was $63.74 at time of booking.

  5. The deal still holds true for me and several others in the check in line talking about the Priceline deal.

Very happy with the deal and rooms are far superior to Extended Stay hotel chain like the one next door.

Real oven/stove, Ice maker in frig, dishwasher, detergent and paper towels included.

Large room with King bed, large Sanyo flat screen...

Glad I did not wind up in the Fairfield Inn!

I used the PRICELINE link on this website.

  6. Bid $45, no dice but if you bid $51 right now...

    $60.28 with taxes and fees.

    Windgate by Windham

5800 Burton Station Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455

    Hotel website says...

    Stay 3, Save 20 Percent - from 66.29 USD

Rate Description: Stay 3, Save 20 Percent - 3 Night Minimum Length of Stay Required. .

    67.32 with taxes.

Not a huge savings but my priceline add additional nights for the same price @ Hampton Inn 5795 Greenwich rd. did not work.

Same ammenities at both hotels, Free hot breakfast, mini frig, micro wave...
