  4. My friend was hoping to get this hotel and did. We stayed here a few years ago and it was a good place with an outdoor shopping area accross the street. This is graduation weekend for Berkeley so the prices are probably higher than usual, he was glad to get the $105 bid accepted.

    Your Offer Price: $105.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $105.00

    Taxes & Service Fees:$19.99

    Total Charges*: $124.99

His prior rejected bid was $99

  5. Did the hotel tell you that they will not allow you to show up then? I've never had a problem with it. I would call the hotel directly and talk to them, ask for a manager if you need to. As long as they are open (some hotels desks are closed late at night) they should be OK with it.

  6. If a counter offer is received that means you are close to an acceptable price for a 5* hotel. If you don't get a counter offer it means either you are not close to a price they will accept or that they are just not giving you a counter offer (thought your price may be close).

If you get one you can just use it as a guide that you are getting to an acceptable price.

  7. I made muiltiple bids for multiple * levels for the San Diego Coastal area only. They are posted below for reference. I was hoping for something in La Jolla but this will work out ok. This is a large zone now. The cheapest La Jolla hotel I found was Travelodge for $109ai so I am happy with this upgrade :) .

  8. I'll be in town for 2 nights staying with family and just wanted one night in a hotel without breaking the bank. I started with the 5* and 4* and then dropped my standards as the prices kept going up. My last winning bid (In the middle of summer) was a 4* for $55 and I didn't want to spend a whole lot more.

It's funny how the higher the prices go the more the lower star hotels look good. :)

At this point I booked the Gold Coast for $80 for Saturday night.

  9. I started low and bid up to these prices last on 10/3/07:

I bid only for territories where there was a Hotel Casino option rather than a regular hotel.

    5* Strip North $105- Failed

    4* Strip N/ Strip S/ Convention/ W of Strip/ Fremont $90- Failed

3* Strip N/ Strip S/ W of Strip/ Fremont/ NW Vegas/ Airport $85- Failed ($166 counter offer, but not sure for which territory)

    2.5* Strip North/ Fremont $78- Failed

    2* Fremont $58- Failed

    I hope this helps.

  10. What Priceline is saying is that they only guarantee a room that will sleep 2 people. You may be able to get a room with 2 beds for the 3 of you but they the hotel can choose to put you in a room with 1 bed. It is at the discretion of the hotel and/or the person checking you in. I have only had this problem once at the Doubletree in Bakersfield. It was resolved by paying an additional $15 for a roll-away bed.
