  1. Okay....I was a little impatient and started bidding on Priceline. I received the Venetian for $192 per night for four rooms for all four nights. I started at $99 and bid in small increments (nothing over $10) until I reached $192 I am very excited!
  2. Okay...I followed up my precious post. Sorry about that. The complete list of amenities are as follows: Resort, suite, Casino, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed, golf nearby, tennis nearby, spa services. It had bed choice and is recommended by 90% of Hotwire customers. Do you recommend I start my bid with Priceline? (I will use your links)
  3. We were able to go through Starwood hotels and got a great rate of 168 per night at the new hotel, The Element, in Times Square. It was a very nice hotel with an awesome breakfast!
  4. I need four rooms 9/23 leaving 9/27. I realized after I booked our flights that this is a crazy weekend. My first time to Vegas and I have always wanted to stay at the venetian. There is a five star for these dates for 230. Is there anyway of knowing if it is the Venetian? I think both of these hotels have the same amenities. I would love to get a five star for Less than 230 but I realize that probably won't happen and I'm willing to pay 230 if I can be sure it's the Venetian. Please help! Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
  5. We are not quite ready to commute in as of yet. We are willing to pay up to 250 per night to stay close to mid-town. We could drop the star level to a three but would prefer a 3.5 unless the propertynwas exceptional. We have stayed at the millennium broadway before and really liked it. Do you know what hotel the 2* in Central Park is? Thanks for your help! :)
  6. Ok I've read all the posts beneath and realize this is next to impossible. Does anyone know of something besides priceline for a good back up plan?
  7. I am planning a trip for 8 adults and would love some knowledgeable information on how to proceed with the bidding process. We would prefer to stay in Times Square or as close as possible for 150 to 200 per night. We need a total of 4 rooms and would prefer a 3.5 to 4 star if possible....is this too much to ask?
  8. For future reference, there is a Hyatt Place in Tulsa - Southern Hills. I believe they have a starbucks that serves food round the clock so I'm leaning toward this being the 3 Star in reference here. The two 3.5 Star Hotels in this area are the Marriott and the Doubletree at Warren Place. Hope this helps for stays in the future. Narissa
  9. Just so everyone will know....I have kept my reservations at the Millenium UN. I wasn't successful in finding anything acceptable on Hotwire so we'll try our luck here. I have upgraded to a Jr. Suite so we should have enough space. If anyone has any suggestions on excellent websites/forums for NYC I would be forever grateful. I haven't been in four years and haven't had as much time as needed to plan. We are planning on watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade and would love some inside tips on where to watch, etc.... Thanks!
  10. This rate should be for quad occupancy. I booked 2 beds. How close is the nearest subway/train station? I will be using your link and trying on PRICELINE or HOTWIRE this weekend when I have a little time. Do you have an updated stategy or should I stick with the first one offered? Thanks again for your help....this site is AMAZING!! :)
  11. Would also like suggestions on cool things to do with the kids. My daughter is 12 and my son is 16. Some that we are planning on: The Big Apple Circus, Broadway shows, Ice rink, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Tabernacle on Sunday, Statue of Liberty, etc. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.
  12. Here's the scoop. I haven't had but about an hour to spend on trying to find a hotel. I haven't tried Priceline or Hotwire as of yet. I did get an Email with an offer for the Millenium UN Plaza Hotel for $199 for 11/27 - 12/1 then the rate jumped to $349 on 12/1. I booked it as a backup since it you could cancel up to one day prior to arrival. You also get an upgrade to a superior room and free breakfast buffet (a $62 value). The reviews that I read were a little mixed but overall seemed good. Do you have an opinion on this hotel? My main concern is that it may be too far away from the center of everything. I'm still open to suggestions and would be very grateful for any you might have. :) :)
  13. Thanks so much. I've just got back to work on it. I'll let you all know as soon as I know something.
  14. I would have to give in budget. I saw the post about the 70 Park Ave and they have a family room but I wasn't able to use the coupon code mentioned. The prices I've seen are in the upper $300 range. I found one 3* on Hotwire near the empire state bldg amenities were laundry, kitchenette and fitness room. Do you know what hotel this could be? The rate was $209 for quad occ. Would I do better to get two rooms?
  15. I don't want two rooms. With the kids, that isn't an option. Thinking about the Thanksgiving Day parade, I might want to stay somewhere a little off of the beaten path. But the kids would get a kick out of all the excitement. Do any of the hotels offer rollaways? I noticed the doubletree guest suites looked roomy and had two beds but I would have to book directly to make sure I received it, right? I haven't had much luck with Hotwire and I'm leary of it to say the least. What do you suggest?
  16. I have replied to the earlier post.....Sorry!
  17. We didn't end up taking this trip.....been too long ago to remember why but we have only been to NYC one time.
  18. Sorry that I didn't follow up on this request. I had to do something that night about a room since we were flying out the next morning! Nothing like last minute, huh? I couldn't find anything under $400 so we stayed at the new Westin at The Lombard Center. I didn't get this on PRICELINE booked directly with the hotel. It is a 20 min drive into Chicago but our friend's live about 45 min south so it was half way in between. It is a fabulous hotel and close to tons of shopping. I got the rooms for $105 so it made it worth the one drive into Chicago.
  19. Hello again! We are planning to be in NY Thanksgiving Day until Tuesday 12/2. Is there any chance of getting a hotel on Priceline for these dates? We would like to stay in the Times Square Area. Also, I would like your valuable advice on planning Broadway shows and other exciting events for my kiddos. Girl age 12 / Boy age 16. We would like something comparable to the Westin for around $200. (please don't laugh :~).....If that isn't possible could you tell me what my options might be?) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a Million, Narissa
  20. Could you please tell me what I need to try for Chicago this weekend. I understand Chicago is really booked this weekend. I need two rooms and if I get them low enough I might get three rooms. Would like a view of the lake if at all possible. My max would be around $150 each room per night but would like to get it a lot lower than that. Thanks a million and one! Narissa
  21. We did that, and booked everything. However, when they replied they said that they wouldn't have an answer for us for 48 hours. This kinda leaves you in limbo as what to do, if they dont let you have it after all. Thanks so much for all of your help!
  22. Thereuare, that sounds great. Can you please tell me how to get this? We have tried up to $170 on Priceline for MTW and MTE adding the two free rebids with no luck.
  23. Thanks for the details on the Beekman. Sounds like it wouldn't be too far out of the way. We would still like to try for a 4*. Do you think we would be able to get one anywhere near the $200 (taxes inc.) range? Please let me know. Thanks.
  24. MTW and MTE are both okay locations. We would rather have a little nicer place and stay out of the way a bit. Also, what about the BEEKMAN? How can we get that for $188 a night? Can you tell me where it is located? Thanks!
  25. Hello Everyone, We are needing three hotel rooms for 4/1/06 thru 4/4/06. We have stayed at the Westin before and loved it. Can you please give us a bidding strategy for these dates? We are wanting the best deal possible but would be willing to pay up to $150. Would like to stay in Times Square district. Thanks so much for your time.
