  1. Thanks.  The price is good, the added daily resort fees add up which are shown after you get to the purchase page.  I tried your rate drop, but it did not work for hotwire.  I will try it again and for priceline, thanks.

PS:  I see at your ratedrop, it mentions priceline bids, I thought priceline discontinued their bidding.

  2. Thanks all for the assist on this.  I went with the FD on the slim chance that I might get World Center hotel.  But I am happy with the CQ--might even be quieter than MT on the weekend.  There are some sights we wanted to see near the FD and it is pretty easy to get everyywhere on the subway.  Last time I stayed in MT near ESB, so I am looking forward to exploring a different area.  As long as I can find a Blue Bottle or other decent coffee I am happy ;-)

    Now to plan activities!

  3. If you need a hotel that is Pet Friendly i would only buy/bid on something that shows the Pet Friendly amenity, as should your/our guess be wrong, you would then be stuck with a hotel that does not meet your needs.

I see the following of interested from PRICELINE EXPRESS (confirm your dates on the landing page after clicking the link provided below):

    4.5* Midtown East with:

    Pets Allowed

    Business Center

    Restaurant

    Fitness Center

... best guess here would be The Omni Berkshire

    Your thoughts on this one?

I am actually looking for pet free "Must be pet free, smoke free hotel, clean, 4* hotel" or NOT pet friendly.

This is not a listed amenity--the best I can do is look for deals that do not have a "pet friendly" amenity then do the research on what possible hotels match the listed amenities and check each hotel website for pet policy.

e.g. the 5* $175 MTE does not list "pet friendly" but is most likely the NY Palace, which does allow pets.  4* MTE $135 does not list "pet friendly" and is likely Club Quarters, which do not allow pets.

Please let me know if you think there may be better options for 2 rooms, 4 adults.  Thank you!

    I am leaning toward Hotwire

4* FD $128 (likely Club Quarters on WS or World Center?)

FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access

    OR

4* MTE $135 (likely Club Quarters Grand Central?)

FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access

  4. Would any of the above then be acceptable?

Yeah, the two 4*s I cite (MTE and FInancial District) are < $135.  MSG was a little more than that though.

All of the club quarters and World Center are smoke-free and pet-free

I  would consider the 5* in MTE for $175, but I did not like the New York Palace--and that looks like what it is.

But thereuare indicated that he or she is familiar with the area and there may be better options...

  5. I don't have a guess for the MSG property... my guess for the Financial District property would be the Club Quarters, World Trade Center or the World Center Hotel.

I'm familiar with this area and there may be better options... what are your needs for this stay and your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes)?

    Our needs:

Must be pet free, smoke free hotel, clean, 4* hotel

    Two rooms

Maximum budget: $135/nt (although I might go higher for a 5*)

Flexible with location in Manhattan--especially if it saves us money--anything south of Central Park really, as long as metro access is good.  I love to walk and use the subway, so location is less of a concern.

But I would prefer: Empire State Building, MTE or MTW, MSG, Times Square, Financial District--e.g. I would love to stay at the World Center if that is one of those FD deals

  6. Sorry, I meant Priceline:

We took the Priceline Express Deal 4* Convention Center hotel $80 per night ($63 before taxes and fees) for 29 Nov to 20 December 2014
    Krystal Grand Punta (formerly Hyatt).

    Amenities:

    Outdoor Pool
    Spa
    Non-Smoking
    Handicap Accessible

    Business Center

High speed internet access for laptop in public areas
    Breakfast served in restaurant
    Non-smoking rooms (generic)
    Parking
    Cable television
    Hairdryer
    24-hour room service

Nice hotel.  Only complaint is the noise (from Coco bongo is loud several nights per week, and from the hotel lobby--due to the hotel design music from the lobby is pretty loud up to the 11th floor).  However, the hotel was excellent at accommodating, moving us, and addressing their lobby noise at night.
Great beach, great location, great view!
