  1. Thank you! The Cambria looks like a nice property, but I am hoping to book the Doubletree as I will be in town that evening for a wedding at the Doubletree.  I used the BiddingHelper.com tool and the 3* Westlake - Avon for $81.00 (Free parking, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access) looks like a possible match. What do you think?

  2. Here's the info posted on Hotwire:

    Amenities:

    Free Internet

    Free parking

    Airport shuttle

    Business center

    Fitness center

    Indoor pool(s) Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Smoke-free rooms

    Bed Choice Available

My gut says this is the Doubletree based on the BetterBidding's Hotwire list, but I wanted your opinion.  I also found an article from 2015 saying that this property does offer an airport shuttle, which was one of the amenities that didn't match.

  3. I'm attending a wedding next Friday in Southgate and would really like to stay at the Holiday Inn Southgate. Much of the wedding party will also be here so I'm really trying to figure out if this listing is indeed the Holiday Inn. The amenities seem to match up according the the hotels website.

The amenities listed on HOTWIRE include:

    Fitness Center

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Laundry Service

    High speed internet access

    Children's activity program

Hotwire includes Taylor and Woodhaven in the area. The Best Western Inn in Woodhaven has many of these amenities as well as the Holiday Inn express. There is also a Ramada in Taylor that matches many amenities.

Does anybody know if there are other hotels in this area that offer these amenities? The Childrens activity program is making me believe it is the Holiday Inn due to the franchises family-friendly reputation.

  4. I started bidding at $90 for a 4* in the loop area, went up in $10 dollar intervals and added the river north-NMA area on the last bid. Rates seemed to be high this week so it seems to be a good deal. The hotels website had rooms starting at $249/night.

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $140.00

    Subtotal: $280.00

    Taxes & Fees: $52.98

    Total Charges*: $332.98

As always, I used the PRICELINE link to commence the bidding process!

  5. These dates fall during the Lollapalooza music festival, so i expected to pay a bit more!

I started my bidding at $110 and went up by $10 intervals, on my last bid I added a 3.5* rating and Hyatt accepted!

Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $140.00

    Subtotal: $560.00

    Taxes & Fees: $99.60

    Total Charges*: $659.60

The Hyatt's website gave me a price of $918.58 After Taxes.

And if course i used the site PRICELINE link to begin!

  6. Hello, I am new to this bidding stuff and am having trouble getting anything in Downtown Detroit for 6/23. I am starting to think that the majority of hotels are booked for some reason because I have made some pretty high bids (120 for 4*; 100 for 3.5*)

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips on how to succeed at this. My main priority is that the hotel is in the Downtown area because I need something within reasonable walking/stumbling/taxi-ride distance from Comerica park!

    Craig
