  2. I am traveling to FLL 5/14-5/16 and have been consistently monitoring car rental prices.  I previously tried to win a compact car for $10 on PL but did not. They countered but I found a cheaper reservation with Alamo on my own.  It is  for 3 days for a total of $83 which includes fees and taxes.  (Midsize car @ 19.67/day)  Hot.wire is offering a midsize car for $10.95/day and a total of $98.20.  I have noticed that when the per day cost goes down, the fees go up.  Has anyone else noticed this??

  3. I had previously used a discount code to rent a midsize vehicle from Aug 30 - Sept 2 for a total of $79. I tried to see if PL would beat this price and started with a bid of $10/day for a compact car and they countered with $13/day which I rejected. I then bid $11/day for a midsize and they said it was too low. I think I will stick with the discount ressie for now. I might try again closer to my trip.

  4. I recall in the past, people were discouraged from using PL if they needed two doubles in NYC. I want to know if that is still the case. I will be in NYC 7/13-16 with my two sons, 21 and 18. I currently have a reservation for two doubles at a location in Midtown for $216/night. I prefer staying in Midtown because it is convenient to everywhere we go. Do you think I should try PL or should I keep what I have? Thanks in advance.
