  1. Currently hotwire has an economy car in FLL for my dates priced at $21.95 which is the cheapest I have seen since I have been watching the rates over the past month. I also used the car rental checker and the cheapest price for an economy car was approx $35/day. Any thoughts on a PL strategy, or should I just book hotwire? I am trying to save as much money as possible. As always thanks for your assistance. :)
  2. I was able to get the Loews Madison for $135/night, which was $19/night cheaper than it was listed on HOTWIRE. The going rate for the room during my time period was around $350/night. I used the PRICELINE link and as always I love this board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Ok, I figured out how to determine the star ratings.......DUH! Currently I have rebid 4x up to $110 and have been unable to get a 4* in Washington DC- Downtown for my dates.
  4. Can you please explain to me how I determine the star levels available in each zone on Priceline? I read the forum that talks about bidding again before 24 hours, but I can't figure this part out on priceline
  5. Wow, I need a car the following week in FLL, I hope I can be so lucky. The cheapest I have found with a discount is $31/day.
  6. There u are, where do you suggest I start bidding? (pricewise, esp since the prices are high during my stay)
  7. Can you give me the strategy only using White House - Downtown? I really want to try and get the Loews (I know it isn't promised) but I know it is currently on Hotwire for my dates for $156/night. I want to see if I can beat that via Priceline before I go with Hotwire. Thanks much!
  8. The 4.5 is probably Loews, a friend received that hotel for May with the exact same description.
  9. I will let you know how it turns out, I have a couple of phone calls to friends who possibly will let me use their discounts. If I don't use their discounts I will be using your PRICELINE links! :)
  10. Capital Hill is a good zone also, and the maximum is $100/day. Thanks
  11. Hi I want to obtain a 4* in Downtown DC 5/13 - 5/16. Can you give me a bidding plan? Thanks!
  12. Used the link bid $9/day via PRICELINE and it was accepted for an economy car via Hertz. Now I am curious how low I could have bid, but I am pleased with the rate especially when I went directly to Hertz website I received a crazy price of over $200 for my rental period vs the $59.16 I am paying via PRICELINE. As always thanks BB!! In the dreaded economy every penny helps! :)
  13. I need to rent a car from 12/6-12/9 in FLL. I saw a rate for $11.95/day on HOTWIRE for an economy car. I used the car checker on this site and the cheapest price was around $40/day. Should I book the HOTWIRE rate or try to beat it with PRICELINE? Do you think the prices via the individual car rental sites will go down anytime soon?

  19. Used savingsbarn.com, and successfully won the Hyatt Regency Atlanta for $58 on Priceline. I used the above strategy and started at $50. Priceline wanted me to increase the price by $14 but I didn't fall for it. Thanks BB for all your help over the years. I love this forum!
  20. Please help, I want a 4* in Downtown Atlanta for one night only. The date is Nov 2-3, 2007. I prefer not to pay over $90, but would prefer something around $60. Thanks in advance.
  21. Bid $70 for 4* in Buckhead - rejected Bid $80 for 4* added Atlanta west - accepted This room would be $169 if I booked it thru hyatt.com. More shoe shopping money for me. :)
  22. Won the bid on the first try at $80 for one night. Nov. 12. I knew someone who just bid at $90 and won and figured I would try lower. I wonder how low I could have went. This is definitely cheaper than hyatt.com regardless.
  23. As I suspected it was the Holiday Inn Ronkonkoma, and the GIFTCARD06 worked. Thanks it was $59-10 plus tax.
