Just completed a search for a 4 star downtown toronto hotel (2 nights ) November 3/4 - came up with the following. Just reviewed my confirmation from hotwire and they have indicated the following: "This hotel typically charges all guests a resort fee of about $25 per room per night, regardless of how the room is booked. The hotel collects this fee directly from you, so it doesn't show in your Hotwire total." The resort fee is roughly 50% of the nightly rate which is ridiculous! So that runs the nightly rate to $70 per night which would get me a nice 5 star hotel on the strip! I am going to connect with HOTWIRE and see what type of options i have.

Thanks for the insight - really like the look of the Westin Kierland for not much more $$$....and it's really close to where i want to be. I didn't see any mention of a resort fee so hopefully there isn't one. If someone knows otherwise, please let me know.
