  1. Just Priceline'd 2 rooms for $40 ($98.40 after taxes and fees) for tomorrow night (6/11/09) for 1 night. Hotwire also shows a 3* hotel in Stapleton-Northeast Denver for $48/night with fitness, pool, business center, laundry, and hi speed internet. I suspect it is the Red Lion. My cost through HOTWIRE would have been $115, so I saved roughly $16 using the PRICELINE link here on BB. :)
  2. According to the cab drivers I talked to last weekend, its been super slow this year. Friday and Saturday were quite busy but Sunday was quite noticeably slower in terms of people in the hotels and on the street. Those guys would know the most about visitor levels. On Sunday night, the casino floor (Wynn) was pretty dead compared to the night before. I was surprised since Monday was a hoilday. I thought more people would have stayed a day longer but a lot checked out on Sunday. The strip was actually driveable at 2 AM, which wasn't the case on Saturday night. With a Mon-Wed stay, I would think the whole town would be very slow and your chances of using the $20 trick to be much better.
  3. I stayed there last weekend via Hotwire for $124/night + tax. :) I saw some people wondering what the room looks like, so lucky for you, I took some pics. My room was on the 6th floor facing the pool (even # room). The check-in guy wanted $24/per night extra for a higher floor and view of the waterfall. I passed because I wasn't planning on staying in the room much except for sleepy time. :) Be careful of the weighted snack tray and beverages in the mini-fridge. :o
  4. I don't know if $20 would have been enough to sway him for 5 rooms. :) Besides, I didn't go to Vegas to enjoy the room. :) FYI, the even # rooms face the back (pool and golf course), so you'll want an odd# room. :o
  5. One more thing... All 5 rooms were king beds as we wanted them all on the same floor (6th). 1 room had 3 people and they brought a roll-a-way bed to them (no additional charge). So maybe you could just ask for a room with 2 queens and have them bring a roll-a-way. :)
  6. When we checked in last Friday, the counter person offered a higher floor and view of the waterfall for $25 extra per night. We had 5 rooms booked, so I didn't want to try the $20 trick.. :)
  7. We stayed there over Memorial Day weekend (Friday - Monday) via Hotwire. Our rate was $124 + taxes and fees. Very nice place. The bathroom was very luxurious. They did offer an additional night for only $99, too. Just be careful with the weighted snack tray and mini-fridge. :)
  8. Amenities shown were: fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, and hi speed internet. I checked on Hilton's direct website and the best price available was $149, so even though it wasn't the Sheraton as I was expecting, it's not too shabby... :)
  9. Booked 2 rooms for 5/30/09 for 1 night @ $65/room. Star rating: 3.5 Hotel: Hilton Madison Monona Terrace (needs to be added to list in the sticky. I thought it was going to be the Sheraton... :) )
