  1. I agree with you Joel--nice property and staff, but not really on the same level as the other places you mentioned. And as some people might not be aware of, there is a $15 resort fee with this place even though I'd hesitate to call it a true "resort" per se.
  2. Not sure if this should be posted here as I won it off a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Price was so cheap I didn't even attempt bidding (although in retrospect I should have tried for kicks). Here were the amenities listed: free internet, indoor or outdoor pool, free parking, restaurant, business center, fitness center. Noticed that this property appears as a 2.5* in the pinned hotel listing, so I'm not sure if this is exposing a descrepancy between the bidding side of priceline and the express deals or if they've changed the star level. Used the BB PRICELINE link! Happy bidding everyone!
  3. Having bid on Priceline unsuccessfully up to $65 for a three star downtown, I pulled the trigger on a Hotwire purchase and got the Bond Place. Here are the amenities as listed on Hotwire to update the pinned list (notice most of these have some overlap with the Holiday Inn Downtown East). Total with tax for 6 nights was $479. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Followed betterbidding HOTWIRE link!
  4. Had $7 of bonus cash from BF, so the final bid was technically $52. Started at $40 and added two zones until I won. TY betterbidding!
  5. Started bidding low at $29 over several days (adding Casselberry and Winter Park for extra bids). Increased bid amount by $2 each day until I hit on $48.
  6. Had to fight for this one as I was looking for a 3* somewhere downtown or at Midway and got shut out on lowball bids. Must be something going on at this time because Hotwire prices are high too. Used the BB link. Thanks guys!
  7. Started at $45 judging from other board wins. Won the Embassy Suites Saint Louis Airport on the first try. Free parking at this location edges out the Hilton Airport which charges for parking (IMO). Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link!
  8. Scored a Budget OW economy rental for $18/day, two day total of $58 including taxes. I had been bidding on this daily with no luck hovering around the $20 to $22 dollar mark. Saw that the price dropped on an equivalent Hotwire rental, so I thought I would give it a shot on Priceline. This makes me wonder what the lowest bid would have actually been, but it is hard to bid on car rentals without permutations. Lowest retail rate for same dates and locations $175. :)
  9. Won this property on the first try. Started the bid at $40 thinking it would be a lowball for the Sheraton, Doubletree, or Courtyard. Ended up with Hyatt Place and was pleasantly surprised! $52 after tax+fees. Used the betterbidding link. Much props to this site, you guys have saved me a bundle!
  10. Tried for 3.5 star zone downtown unsuccessfully until I hit $60. Switched to 4* air west and south until I got the Intercontinental (free parking here, not at Grand Hyatt). Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link!
  11. Started bidding very low on this one ($45) guessing I might get the Sheraton Music City for an overnight stopover. No dice, but I increased by $1-2 increments and added additional zones until I won the Marriott. I had tried unsucessfully to get the Hyatt Place Opryville, but it looks like Priceline wanted $66 for that property on an automatic re-bid. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link!
  12. Starting bidding at $50 + $5 Priceline bonus cash for total of $55/night for 3 nights. Website is listing $159/night for same dates. Thanks previous posters and the mods!
  13. Started bidding at $45, was offered a re-bid for $60 but declined. Increased in increments of $2 by adding zones until $50 was accepted. The lobby of this hotel is outrageously cool, but the area is a bit far from the "actual" downtown area (~1 mile). Used the Better Bidding link!
  14. Started bidding at $15 for one-way economy RSW to FLL. Rejected. Added compact car and increased to $17. Accepted. $80.05 total for three days. Lowest elsewhere (HOTWIRE) was $178.00 total. Used betterbidding PRICELINE link.
  15. Got on the first try! For those of you bidding in this zone, you may want to start with $45 first. I wasn't anticipating the low price due to the season, but hey $49 for FLA--I'll take it! HOTWIRE was $64 for the same property.
  16. Smoke-free; comp breakfast; fitness center; pool; business center; high-speed internet Used betterbidding HOTWIRE link.
  17. $55 11/5/10-11/6/10 Amenities: Smoke free, fitness, pool, Restaurant, business center, laundry, internet, Tennis Priceline was jammed for this weekend...not sure why.
  18. $43 7/7/10 - 7/8/10. Lexington (South) Started bid at $40, offered re-bid increase for $10, increased to $43 and won.
  19. $76 7/6/10 - 7/7/10 Louisville (Downtown) Bid in increments from $70 adding additional zones.
  20. Oh, and the dates are July 8-9 with a price of $107
  21. Hello everyone, I need help identifying a recently added 3* in Quebec City showing Fitness, Business center, restaurant, and golf. I suspect that it may be the Courtyard Marriott downtown as its website is the only one that actually mentions golf. Any ideas?
