  1. Last minute bid (going to be an Aunt! :) ) so I didn't want to mess around and accidentally not be able to bid and was accepted on the first round. Yes, should have tried a little lower. Used your PRICELINE links! Thanks so much for the hotel lists! - hayes
  2. Ok, just ran through the options again and then Priceline, instead of denying me, offered me a 'second bid' at 150.00 per night. I took it. I looked again for re-bid zones, but I didn't see them - not sure what I was missing, but I'll give it closer inspection next time. So, I've ended up at the Holiday Inn London Mayfair for 4.7 and 4.8 - not my first choice and about 25.00 more than I wanted to spend BUT, I'm ok with it. I think the royal wedding later that month is a factor and I'm happy to know I have a reservation. Thanks so much for your help and I was able to book with the PRICELINE links here! cheers, hayes
  3. Select 4* (Bloomsbury-Marble Arch) and (Mayfair-Soho) Bid $110/// Rejected. Select 4* Westminster Bid $110/// Rejected. Select 4* (Bloomsbury-Marble Arch) and (Mayfair-Soho) and Westminster Bid $115/// Rejected. I don't see any re-bid zones I can use. Try again tomorrow?
  4. You're so welcome! Thanks for getting back to me - I am hoping to keep it under 125.00 a night. Think I stand a chance?
  5. First run, used the better bidding link, signed in and claimed the Priceline reward of 5.00 per night on name your own bid that I got in the e-mail last night. Bid 4* in Bloomsbury - Marble Arch for 90.00 + priceline's 5.00 for a 95.00 total and this was not accepted. Added Mayfair - Soho at same price. Not accepted. Added Westminster and ncreased bid to 100.00 + priceline's 5.00 for 105.00 total. Not accepted. Any one have any thought on next steps? I felt it was in range; am I way off? Thanks in advance - this site is an amazing resource! :) - hayes
  6. Followed your advice and used the PRICELINE links! Scored the Hyatt Regency Boston for 80.00 a night - I was looking for a 3.5* plus and they gave me a 4* for a 8.27.2009 check-in. Very happy with the process and will be using it again... Thanks for all the hand holding! hayes Here's the details of what finally worked: Select 3.5* Quincy Market and Copley Square... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone... rejected, but got the 'add $22.00 and re-bid offer'... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone... accepted by Hyatt Regency Boston 4*
  7. Excellent - you've all been so helpful. I am willing to move forward without the guarantee of two beds with the same parameters and will be sure to use your links. cheers, hayes
  8. Thanks, followed up my first request with my little tale of woe...wish it was better news; just a busy weekend in boston. cheers, hayes
  9. Hi - Sorry I didn't follow up before - I was unsuccessful, but I think it had more to do with the holiday weekend than the methodology. Boston was just pretty booked up. I tried a myriad of combinations. Thanks again for your input.
  10. Can someone suggest a bidding strategy for a 3.5 - 4* hotel for August 27 2009 in the following zones: Quincy Market Copley Square ( would love to gear towards a Klimpton and I need two beds ) Maximum per night $100. Thanks!
  11. ok, I used the link here and bid 65.00 on cambridge zone. - rejected. I then added the Fenway zone and upped my bid to 70.00 - rejected. Instead of bringing me back to re-adjust the parameters it posted this: Thank You for Naming Your Own Price
  12. Guess I'll start with the four star. Thanks!
  13. Hi. My name is hayes and I'm a complete price line n00b and a last minute planner. Looking for a hotel near Fenway Park - would like to end up in priceline's Cambridge and Brookline zones, but not too picky. Max bid $100.00 I'm more concerned with a decent hotel than absolute lowest price, wondering if I should up to 4*? Thanks in advance - I'm all registered with PRICELINE and ready to use your links. Glad someone hipped me to your existence! Cheers, hayes
