  1. Wanted Downtown only, 4*+, started at $100 and used free rebids in $5 increments until I was accepted at $125. Comes to $150/nt after taxes and fees. Seems like I usually get the Hyatt on Priceline but I've never stayed at the Omni before so I'm happy to check it out. Used better bidding's Priceline link, of course. Thanks for the service.
  2. Bid on a 4* in this same zone yesterday with no luck up to $135. Tried 3.5* today and got Blackstone Renaissance (listed as a 4* still on Priceline) on the first bid at $100. Total comes to about $118/nt after taxes and fees, compared to $208 on the hotel's website. Obviously I'm thrilled but it's weird to get a 4* when bidding on a 3.5*, especially after no luck just 24 hours ago. Didn't know whether to put 3.5* (what I was bidding for) or 4* (what I actually got) in the thread title, sorry. Great site, thanks. Used your PRICELINE link as always.
  3. Completed a 3-night stay here in August 2011. The hotel is very nice, definitely worthy of 4* in my opinion, and we enjoyed our stay. I can't comment on the amenities very much, but the room and bathroom were quite luxurious and clean. The finishes are classy. Very nice floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. Wireless internet costs like $12/day or so, which is somewhat annoying. We didn't have a car but I assume parking is astronomical, but that's par for the course in a downtown area such as SF's Financial District. There is a bar & lounge in the lobby and a restaurant on the 3rd floor. All the staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly, except for one bad experience with a very rude woman on the phone when I called to request a king sized bed (we booked by bidding on Priceline) a few days beforehand. She immediately realized that my reservation was through Priceline and began to explain very impatiently to me how Priceline works (I'm well aware of how it works, thank you). She seemed legitimately irritated that I should have the audacity to request a king sized bed as a Priceline customer. However, upon actual arrival at the hotel, no mention of Priceline was made by any of the staff and we weren't treated with anything but courtesy. One word of caution: the area around this hotel (Financial District on Priceline) is primarily a business area, which means that it is mostly deserted on the weekends. We had trouble finding a bakery or coffee shop to have breakfast at and had to settle for Starbuck's. During the week there are many more options open and more people around. For tourists, Union Square and the Ferry building are certainly walkable from here, but Fisherman's Wharf is probably not. The Embarcadero Center is across the street but again, it was pretty much a ghost town on Saturday and Sunday. However, there are plentiful transit options near the hotel (BART, Muni Metro, cable car, street car).
  4. Just completed a one night stay here (now a Hilton) in August 2011. In my opinion, this hotel is not 4* quality. The room was OK but the bathroom was very old, tired, and outdated feeling. It wasn't particularly clean, either (dried water spots on the counter and dirty/discolored grout in the shower). Parking is very expensive, especially given the hotel's location, at $18/day. But there is an airport parking lot next to the hotel that charges $9/day and had an open gate leading into the hotel's parking lot when we were there. Basically - half price parking if you park next door at the "airport" lot and are willing to walk a few extra feet. In short, there isn't anything particularly terrible about this hotel, but the rooms and especially bathrooms are definitely not 4* quality and you should not pay 4* prices to stay here. Honestly, the rooms at this Hilton are no better than your typical budget hotel (La Quinta, etc.)
  5. Started low at $30. There are lots of rebid zones in Houston at 3* so I worked my way up slowly. Finally accepted at $50 ($66 after fees and taxes). This particular hotel is $135/nt for that night elsewhere on the internet. Used the site's PRICELINE link, as always.
  6. Wanted a hotel near SFO airport. Started at $60, kept adding rebid zones and accepted at $75. Total comes to $94 after Priceline gets their cut. Used the site's PRICELINE link, of course.
  7. Wanted Downtown or South-Airport. First bid $50, offered free rebid (can't remember the amount - $65?). Turned that down and rebid $55 on my own - accepted by the Austin Marriott South. Very happy, that was the area that I wanted to be in. Total comes to $71 after Priceline and the gov't get their cut. Used the site's PRICELINE link. Great site, thanks.
  8. Wanted Financial District - Embarcadero. First bid was $95, offered free re-bid to $120. Turned that down and bid $100, then $105. Accepted by the Le Meridien at $105. Came to about $125/nt after fees and taxes. Le Meridien's website lists $207/nt for the same dates. Great site, btw.
  9. first time posting, great site. Offered $90 for 4* with Downtown only selected, accepted right away for Hyatt Regency Austin. Total charges: $216.58 (total taxes & fees: $36.58) for 2 nights.
