I bid on a 4-star in Clayton up to $59 with no luck...then bid on a 4-star downtown and won at $52 for a stay from 10/03/09 - 10/04/09 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront.

Please follow-up your previous Priceline Cincinnati thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and i'll look into the above.

Is this for 7/31-8/2??

It was for either 7/31 or 8/1, whichever night I could get, but was not able to get a room due to the Macy's Jazz festival.

Can someone familiar with the Forest Park/Clayton area of St Louis clue me in to what the 4* hotel in this zone might be? The Missouri hotel list shows a 3* Crowne Plaza as the highest reported hotel however it is one of two zones in St. Louis that shows a 4* as available on priceline. Any info would be much appreciated.

Must be something going on in Cincinnati this weekend where they've jacked their rates up since I'm over $70/night for a 4-star downtown Cincy with no luck yet...and yes I'm using this boards links to open the PRICELINE site. 14 referrals at least today just from me...

Oh and for the record I've tried more regions than just downtown and more ratings than 4 star at this point as well but no combo is giving me luck at this point. I'm going to try again this morning for all regions.

Yes I finally figured that out as one of the travel sites had a hotel listed under special event rate and noted the jazz festival. And with regards to the date, as I said is this weekend, I've tried Friday, Saturday, both to no avail.....so 07/31/09 and/or 08/01/09.

Bid $30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and then was accepted at $37.

On a side note I was actually attempting to get the Marriott West at 3.5* since it seemed to be the only documented hotel at this star level in the Chesterfield area. However it would seem the Doubletree has been upgraded to 3.5* so the Missouri Priceline Hotel list should be updated to reflect this new info.

In any case thanks to everyone for all the great info on this site as I will be doing plenty of traveling over the next year or so and the info on this board will help me save plenty of money.

Total cost of hotel rooms (2 rooms for 2 nights) was $179.84 ($31.84 taxes and fees).

Also, I did use the links from this board for my PRICELINE booking as well.
