  1. I started reading the reviews on tripadvisor after winning the property and now I am actually very excited!!!
  2. I was bidding for days now to get a hotel in Beverly-Hills/West-Hollywood OR Santa-Monica-Marina del Rey each bid starting with one of these areas and then adding free-rebids. I have tried everything from $90 to $120 but was constantly rejected. Today finally it worked out! Started with Santa Monica and $111, adding Culver City/Lawndale/Redondo and raising with a few dollars. Then added Beverly Hills-West Hollywood with $119 and was accepted by the Andaz. I was kind of hoping to win Le Petit (although standard rooms don't seem very luxurious) but my bids of $105 were rejected all the time. Don't really know if I'm going to like the Andaz, but....it's on Sunset, has a rooftop pool with views and looks pretty classy, so what could go wrong! Of course I used your PRICELINE link!! (PS: haven't seen any 4* wins for Santa Monica recently......is it hard to win a hotel in that area nowadays?)
  3. I have won this hotel (booked last thursday). 3.5* 57+tax = 71.48 on Hotwire Amenities shown are: *shuttle *fitness *pool *restaraunt *bussiness center *wifi/internet *laundry I have used your HOTWIRE link!
  4. I have won this hotel (yesterday) as well, for exact same price, 2 nights, oct 11th/12th. (should I open a new topic for this?)
  5. The amenities for this property were: * Complimentary breakfast
  6. First of all: I paid $65 instead of $60. My excuses for that mistake! Amenities are: * Fitness, * Bus. Center, * Golf nearby, * Pool, * Laundry service The hotel is indeed in the Downtown area of Denver (1550 Court Plaza)
  7. It' an old one but the board has asked me to create a new topic anyway. I booked this motel in april or may 2009 for $59 ex tax which was quite a trick as the price on the website was just $2 higher! Still it was cheap for me as I had Hotdollars to use. The motel was really very bad and is now rated with 1*.
  8. It' an old one but the board has asked me to create a new topic anyway. This hotel was listed as a 3,5 * hotel at the time and I paid $60 ex tax for it. Just a few days later the star rating went down to 3* and HOTWIRE gave me $25 in Hotdollars. I booked it in mid-february 2009.
  9. I just wrote 2 reviews of both the Sheraton in Denver and the Super8 Motel in Canon City!
  10. We knew that we were going to stay in a simple motel in a simple town but this Super8 motel was awfull! The original price through Hotwire was $59 ex tax and the motel had 2 stars at the time. The older man at the check-inn desk was really grumpy and did not show any interest in us. The room was a little dirty but mostly run down. 2 different pillows, a blanket that looked like it had been cut from a roll and furniture from back in the 50's. The only positive was the complimentary wifi which was really fast. This motel was sad! After writing my Hotwire-review about this motel I was send an email by Hotwire that the star rating went down from 2 to 1-star and I have been refunded the total amount of my stay in HotDollars!
  11. I booked this hotel with Hotwire and payed $65 ex tax. At the time of booking the hotel was a 3,5 star level but after reviewing the star ratings Hotwire brought it down to 3 stars and rewarded me with $25 HotDollars. I was very surprised that this hotel was so 'luxurious'; upon arrival are doors were opened, our luggage was being carried out of the car into the lobby and later to our room. Check-inn was very smooth and friendly. I should mention that at the time (mid-july 2009) the selfparking/garage was closed for renovation and only valet was available for $26 (instead of $21). We decided to park our car wright behind the hotel for only $10. The room wasn't really big but very modern and elegantly decorated, with an LCD-TV, nice desk, very good bed and we had a great view of the city and the frontrange of the Rocky's. What I found a bit weird of this hotel were the enormous amount of 'vacant' spaces throughout the hotel. There is a pool which we didn't use and also we did not try the breakfast. The hotel is right in the middle of everything; the 16th street mall, the park and the Denver Art Museum are all within a few minutes walking distance. I thought the area at night was kind of deserted. The hotel is definitely worth more than 3 stars!
  12. I think you meant me? I will start my own topic as soon as I start bidding. I need 2 hotels for my upcoming stay in LA in october. I do have a question. I have been rewarded with almost $50 Hotdollars by Hotwire (because of a stay in Canon City in July in the Super8 Motel which was awful) so I'm wondering if I use you're links to hotwire if I will be able to check into my own account as I will when I use the link in the email that they have send me.
  13. How do you 'know' that it is not the Sheraton? I'm currently looking at hotwire for a LAX-hotel and I'm wondering how to tell the differences between the Sheraton and the Westin. After reading the reviews at tripadvisor I figured the Sheraton is a better catch.....
  14. Wasn't so keen on special locations or specific hotels which made bidding quite easy. Started bidding with 3* Chelsea Area, $90,- , rejected Added Downtown/Soho, $92 , rejected Added Midtown East, $94 , rejected Added Midtown West, $95 , rejected Added Central Park South, $96,...and then the waiting started, it took like for ages, I was put on a hold and then: Voila!!! Accepted. Did you notice I'm satisfied? Haha! I really don't know much about this hotel but it looks quite nice, it's a good location (although I would have preferred Chelsea or Little Italy-area) and the price is just perfect!!
  15. 3,5 * Marriot Newark Int. Airport Newark Int. Airport (EWR) New Jersey Check-In Date: Sun, Jul 19, 2009 Check-Out Date: Mon, Jul 20, 2009 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15,22 Total Charges: $65,22 After trying to get a 3/3,5* hotel at Newark for around $48,- for days, I yesterday tried $48 again. I was specifically looking for a hotel very close to the airport because of a very early flight and am very happy to have won the Marriot!
