Can you not bid on Priceline for cars that are not picked up and dropped off at an airport location? I am wanting to bid on a car but would like to pick it up in Oceanside/Vista/Carlsbad area.
What is PRICELINE Bonus Cash? And how do you get it?
Would these guesses be the same for PRICELINE also?
Ok, I did use your link. Can you also advise on this one also:

I am pleased with my win at the Westin. I am still a little nervous about what type of room I will actually get. I am certainly not expecting an ocean view room but don't want to get the worse room since I purchased it on PRICELINE. I swore I would not use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE again after getting some rooms that were less than disirable. But the game and low rates lured me in again.
So just to be clear... if you add Nuevo Puerto Vallarta to your "resort" bid you can't win a hotel there since they only contain hotels which are lower rated than the star level ('resort') which you select. If you're not comfortable using re-bidding then you shouldn't use it, but if you do opt to use this strategy, be sure to doublecheck the highest star rating available in Nuevo Puerto Vallarta before every bidding cycle to make sure that nothing has changed since you last checked.
Thanks for using our PRICELINE links... good luck and let us know how it goes.
I changed my zone and re-bid at $60 and my bid was accepted at the Westin.

I bid $55 for just Puerto Vallarta area RESORT. it now say I can increase by $15 and bid again without changing my zone or dates. I have never seen that before. Not sure I want to just up $15 at a time.
Highest rated Nuevo Puerto Vallarta is 4*. Highest rated Puerto Vallarta is 'Resort. Thanks for the clarification. I'll let you know how the bidding goes and will use your PRICELINE link.
Thank you. I'll try that strategy. I don't see a 'resort' hotel when I enter all areas of Puerto Vallarta on PRICELINE which surprises me since there are so many hotels in the Puerto Nuevo area. I would have thought some of them would be listed as Resorts. I'm a little nervous about doing to re-bidding with adding a zone because I do not want to stay in that area.
When bidding Resort in this area you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. With time on your side i would star low and bid as follows:
Select Resort Puerto Vallarta
Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $60
If the above is rejected i'd wait 24 hours and try again with $65 and $70. Proceed to continue to increase each bid by $10 (ie - $75 and $80, $85 and $90, etc, etc) every 24 hours until you reach your limit.
Any questions freel free to ask.
Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Since I can purchase at room for 4 nights directly with the hotel for $119 a night, I was thinking of bidding about $80 to begin with on PRICELINE. Your suggestions? I don't think I want to go much higher then $90. I can actually get a room for $160 with breakfast each day for 4 days and only pay for 3 days. Which comes out to $120 a night for 4 nights.
Isn't the Westin listed in the Resort category and not 4*? I do not want to end up with the Sheraton Buganvilias so I was going to bid on a 'Resort' level category and hopefully get the Westin or Marriott.
Can you help identify this hotel. Dates 5/12/10-5/16/10

I decided to try PRICELINE instead of going with HOTWIRE. I won the Marriott @ $110 from 11/12/09-11/14/09. At first I was pleased but then went onto the Marriott's website and checked my confirmation. My confirmation shows a NO VIEW, NO BALCONY and no windows that open room. Their website doesn't even list a room in that category. I have read other posts on this site about getting terrible rooms at this Marriott after using Priceline. I have emailed the Marriott asking for a room with a king bed and a balcony but they said (of course) that they can just put in the request. I will post another message after we have stayed at the Marriott next month.
I also won @ $110.00. But now have looked on the Marriott website and it shows I have a NO VIEW, NO BALCONY and No windows open room. Marriotts website doesn't' even list a room like that. I am not happy and I would never have bid $110 for a room like that.
Thanks for your imput. I decided to the call the local Lihue airport office and ask them about it...did this before I read your response. Anyway, they said it wouldn't be a problem at all...so you were right.
i am wondering if you have any suggestions for me with Priceline. As you can see in my previous post that I booked a car with Alamo. The problem is I just noticed I made a typo on the last name of the driver...I typed a 'q' instead of a 'z' at the end of the last name. I called Priceline and Alamo and they both said they can't correct/change it. Any suggestions? I'm wondering if they will make any difference when we pick the car up in Lihue.
