Thanks for your help! Why niggle over $6? LOL, because I'm a New Englander! About that Extended Stay America - it's listed as a 1* on Priceline in the actual named hotel listings. I know Hotwire is a bit more generous with the star ratings, but I didn't think it would be so much more generous. I'm just looking to keep it under $100 a night. Any extra savings is an extra glass of wine, my friend! And I always use the links, when researching and booking.

I'm searching for the same event. You may want to consider Quincy/Braintree as well. Braintree is the terminus of the MBTA Red Line and Commuter Rail lines, and it's about 45 mins from TD Garden, compared to probably 1:15 from Framingham. Once in Boston, it's very easy to use the subway to get around (and even walk, because Boston is pretty small), but Braintree/Quincy both have locations of historical interest (John Adams/John Quincy Adams birthplaces and mansion, etc). I grew up in the area, taking the T to downtown Boston frequently.

Bid 2* yesterday for $70; offered immediate rebid to raise $33 to $103. Bid 2.5* today for $73; offered immediate rebid to raise $45 to $118. I want to stay in Braintree, and I'm nervous of using Hotwire because the zone seems to include more towns. I think I'll try to split the difference on the 2* today and bid $88. I'm hoping for the Candlewood; nice to have some kitchen facilities available.

Thanks for the advice! I searched Price.line and Ho.twire both before bidding. There was a 4* at $132 and 3.5* at $98 on PRICELINE EXPRESS and a 4* at $99 on Hot.wire. I tried the 4* from $75-95 with no luck. Started 3.5* at $79 was offered the immediate "free re-bid" at $27 for $106. Kept at it and hit at $95. If $95 had failed, I would have booked that $98 3.5* PRICELINE EXPRESS (probably same hotel). 4/10-4/15 - LAX 4* Bid $70-$90 at $4 increments with the 5 re-bid zones. Will try again tomorrow. I think I'm close... we'll see.

I checked the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals and noticed a 3.5* for $69, so wanted to try to stay under that. Started bid at $55 and got immediate reoffer at $70. Went up $3 per bid for three zones, checked that the $69 Express was still there and went up $2 on the last bid for $66 and YAYY!!! This is where I stayed last year and hoped to stay this year, so GREAT SUCCESS!! Hotel site rate - $120.

Last night; 3* from $60-75. Will try again tonight. Hopefully will hit at $80 like the other recent poster.

When we checked in, the clerk said "and that's the king whirlpool room...?". LOL, whatever! The room had a whirlpool tub with mirrored walls right in the corner. Breakfast selection included the make-your-own waffle station. There's a tasty restaurant just a few minutes away - Mulberry Italian Ristorante.

The hotel ended up placing us in their sister hotel across the street, Hotel Gotico. Room was nice, area was great!
