  1. Starting bidding at $44 per night and got an offer that $59 would win the night. Rejected that offer and used free rebids starting out with $1 increments and then going to $2 increments. Won at $49/night. Self parking overnight is $15 - fairly reasonable in this neighborhood. The hotel has received some so-so reviews but it is pretty much your standard 3* hotel. It a decent hotal and at the typical priceline price, a good deal. As always, used the PRICELINE link within the forum
  2. Based on betterbidding history, started at $34 for one night stay assuming I'd get Marriott Northwest at Galleria and hit on the first try. On-line rate for that night was $169/night. Hotel was in good general area, was in good condition - standard Marriott fare. As always, used the PRICELINE link to begin bidding.
  3. Started at $51 since I had won the Residence Inn at close to that rate earlier and had forgot there were other potentials that sometimes are lower. Hotel is OK and charges $15 per night for parking.
  4. Started with Midtown at $44 which was denied but offered to increase bid by $15. Increased bids by $1 increments and won Courtyard Marriott at $46. Really good deal considering parking is free (other hotels charge anywhere from $15 to $22 per night).
  5. Started bidding at $48 per night. Had a response that I could accept $63 per night. Refused that offer and utilized two other free rebids to strike at $51/night. Stayed at this hotel before - good hotel. :) Used the PRICELINE link as always
  6. The Renaissance Hotel Downtown Atlanta has just changed hands and is now a Melia Hotel. They were installing the new signs this weekend. Its now a Melia Hotel (good weekend rates). Unless it pops up on Priceline, suggest it be removed from the 3.5 star listing for downtown atlanta.
  7. Initially bid $50 for 3.5*. Received counteroffer that if I upped the bid to $65, I would win. Rejected that and bid $52 using free rebid zone. Won at $52/night - Hilton Downtown Atlanta ($127.44 incl tax). Priceline indicated this was an upgrade to a 4* hotel. Used the PRICELINE link as always on the board. Anyone have a good deal on parking nearby? The Hilton charges ~$25/night. Hotel is good (stayed there before) - but I'm cheap, then again isn't everyone that uses PRICELINE)?
  8. Starting bidding Atlanta downtown 3.5* at $51. Response offer that a $62 would win the night. Rejected the offer and rebid $55 using one free re-bid zone. Ended up with winning bid of $55 ($70.38 incl taxes). Good hotel in good location (on border of Midtown and Downtown)
  9. Lynn99: Across the street from the hotel is the hospital parking deck. It charges $6 per day. The deck access is one street east from the hotel (head for hospital visitor parking)
  10. Bid 5* city center south at $100 (previous day had bid up to $100 and gotten an "add $20 to win counteroffer") with same counteroffer as previous day. Bid $105 using free rebid zone (the city center south is the only area where there are 5* hotels) which was rejected, then $110 which was accepted. Cost for the two nights was $260.44. Used PRICELINE link for bidding.
  11. Bid $41 using the PRICELINE link based on previous winning bids on this board and won the night. Have stayed at this hotel before - decent property in decent location
  12. Stayed there two weekends ago. Its a decent hotel, with over 1,000 rooms. It was quiet, and I don't believe there were a lot of guests just judging on the number of people in the lobby. There's a large Marriott across the street which seemed to be full. There's valet parking ($28/night) or self-park ($21/night) in the basement. I am a hhonors VIP member and they honored that and gave me coupons for free continental breakfast. I paid $52 per night. When I checked in the desk clerk said "I see you booked thru Priceline - are they good?" I thought to myself "you have no clue how good it is to pay at least half of what most of the rest of the guests are paying". Summary - great hotel and great deal
  13. Has this property been upgraded to a 4* - it was 3 1/2 a few weeks ago. It does seem worthy of the four star rating.
  14. Starting bidding at $46 per night using PRICELINE link and incremented bidding by $2/night using free rebid zones until I hit at $52/night. Was hoping for a different hotel but this one is still a good deal.
  15. Bid 3* hotel in midtown. Started at $43 and won on the first bid. Other reviews say the hotel is run down and it is slightly but its a decent hotel (stayed there before). Parking is shared with a multi level lot next door and hotel guests have to park on the top level which is a little inconvenient. Overnight parking is around $18.
  16. Initially bid at $44; was asked to up bid by $12. Rejected that option and rebid at $46 and won. Hotel has free parking, unlike others in the area which charge $18 - $25 per night. Overall great rate for a decent hotel.
  17. Started bidding at $50 per night. Got a "raise by $14 to win the hotel" response. Declined and started incrementing with free rebids by $1/bid. Eventually hit at $57 per night. Hotel is OK (stayed their previously). Parking is steep at $20+ per day Used the PRICELINE link
