  1. Just an update on our stay: I kindly asked for a room "better room" upon check-in.....we received a room corner room (windows on 2 walls) and at the end of the hallway (quiet) and in the "upper floors section of the hotel (great view of the city and bay). Could not have been more pleased.
  2. Started at $85 and using permutation bidding process worked in $3 increments winning at $100 Recived counter offers at $85, $91 and $97 to add $25 to my original request for a free re-bid as per the other user winning this same hotel for 1 day earlier, I had the feeling that $100 was the winning price point. Very happy with win as lowest rate on Hyatt web site is 219.00 per night plus taxes. My win >> $100 per night x 2 plus tax/fees of $33.36 = $233.36 out the door. Big plus...no charge for parking....BUT.......there is a resort fee!!! Still -- cant beat the deal
  3. Started at $70 for the following 4 zones: Financial Dist-Embarcadero, SOMA-Moscone Ctr, Union Sq West and Union Sq East-Nob Hill. Used free-rebid zones at $5 increments till winning the Mariott Marquis in SOMA-Moscone Ctr zone for $100. Happy with the win since it's the week of the 4th of July and the Mariott web site rate is $209.00 Also, pleased that the hotel is 1 block from a Bart station since we will be using it from/to the SFO Airport and won't have to drag the luggage very far. Used the PRICELINE link to begin the purchase. Thanks again Better Bidding
  4. Just an update on my stay. We tried to check-in at 2PM but were told that there were no rooms available (yes, and on a Saturday) so we went to have lunch and came back at 3:15PM. The front desk clerk then had to call housekeeping to locate a room that was clean and available. The room was on a still being renovated floor ...no big deal since our half was already done. I found it hard to belive that no rooms were avaiable at 2pm.....may be the priceline effect. Other than that and the fact that the front desk did not sell stamps the stay was great.
  5. Same success as previous bid Started with 38.00 and got counter offer to add 15.00 to my original bid. I declined and changed bid to 40.00 and used free re-bid which resulted in the "win" The numbers> 40.00 + 12.72 tax/fees = 52.72 FYI - The lowest rate on the hotel website was 108.99 (nonrefundable and before taxes) Used the PRICELINE link but was not logged in

  11. I'm thinking its the Marriott Burr Ridge. (hotwire price 75.00) Jan 9th-11th 2010 (2 nights) Am I correct???? Some sites list this htl at 3* but both Hotels.com and Expedia list at 3.5* We have a wedding to attend and didn't get a room from the block when the group rate was 90.00. I know the rate @ marriott.com is 99.00 but I'm just trying to save some $$$$$$ by using HOTWIRE. Amenities: Fitness/Pool/Restaurant/Business Center/Onsite Laundry/HiSpeed Internet/Golf nearby it should be noted that Hotels.com and others don't show this hotel w/ a fitness center but when looking at the hotel at marriott.com the hotel photos show a fitness center but it's not listed with the hotel features.
  12. Got on first shot -- Bid date was Dec 9 2009 @ 1am Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $25.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $25.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $10.60 (USD) Total Room Cost: $35.60 (USD) Could not be happier -- thank BetterBidding
  13. 1st bid was 50.00 for a 4* for Airport area (declined) 2nd bid was 55.00 for a 4* Airport area and free re-bid (no 4* zone) and accepted Very Happy with Win sorry forgot to book thru the PRICELINE link
  14. 1st bid of $30.67 was rejected for a 3* Orlando (Universal) 2nd bid of $35.67 accepted with addition of Orlando (WDW) sorry for the weird amounts but I had 50.00 in PRICELINE bonus bucks that were applied to the winning bid on a per nite basis. Offer price 35.67 (less 16.67 bonus bucks per nite) = net of 19.00 to me charged to card was 57.00 + 22.23 tax for a ttl of 79.23 I could not book thru the link as the bonus bucks were sent via a "stand alone" email from a twitter/PRICELINE promo.
  15. First bid was 85.00(Rejected) for a 5* in London (Mayfair-Soho) and (Bloomsbury-Marble Arch) fyi -- I did receive a counter-offer from PL for 144.00 plus taxes for a 5 * (of course I declined) Re-bid for 75.00 (Accepted) @ NH Jolly St Ermins by adding 4* and London (Westminster) bid 75.00 // taxes/fees 19.22 /// ttl 94.22 since I'm a newbie I didn't use the link....but i will nxt time
  16. I recently bid for a 4* London-Westminster and won it for 75.00 (will post details shortly). Priceline had a valid but not active (and not expired) CC on my profile (the cc was inactivated and a new one issued by my bank due to a mass-cc security failure by a 3rd pary processor). I was using this card in an attempt to get free re-bids in case it was rejected. However the bid was won and confirmation number received but no charge on the new cc (probably cross-referenced by the bank) account yet. Also...I never received a winning bid email from Priceline, but the winning bid is on my profile with them. Any Ideas???? PS I'm new here but definetly like the friendlier tone of the moderator over the "other" site that offers a similiar bulletin board service
