  1. I should have read the board first and tried to save $2/night, because looks like someone booked the same room for $2 less over the same period of time. I've stayed at this hotel before and it was a delightful experience. I just don't remember the Valet parking situation...because most of these hotels charge an arm and a leg to park overnight. Happy Bidding!
  2. Wish I had read the board before purchasing. I just went on a whim for $62/night in the same area and got the Hyatt. Sheesh, I could have saved $2/night! LOL Thanks for posting!! :)
  3. Started off bidding at $57 and was asked to up the bid to $70. Chose to expand the area to include LAX AND Culver City. Then bid at $60 and the offer was accepted for the LAX area (which is where I wanted to be). Just was hoping for another hotel other than this one because these jokers have a $25/day self-park fee. I hate that this happens...
  4. My apologies, I didn't know I'd mislabeled. Please forgive my naivete on this board...I'm not as precise as the seniors here.
  5. Doubletree Hotel Collinsville 1000 Eastport Plaza Dr Collinsville, IL 62234 (618) 345-2800 Zone: O'Fallon/Collinsville Yes, I must say that this hotel was VERY well appointed. Much nicer than The W Hotel Lakeshore. Thanks for the posts and inquiries from this listing. I hope it helps someone along the way!
  6. Won this bid for a hotel the same day I needed it. Not any 4* hotels in the area but this 3* was JUST as nice. Loved this Doubletree hotel much more than The W Hotel Lakeshore (Chicago) that I stayed in the previous day. 1st Bid 39 - Declined 2nd Bid 45 - Accepted REGULAR PRICE FOR THAT NIGHT WAS $125+ GREAT DEAL!!! Good luck out there! PS -- I BOOKED 2 SEPARATE TIMES USING THE APPROPRIATE PRICELINE LINKS FROM THE FORUM! LOL :)
  7. Wow -- this is INSANE!!! :) Not even 1hr ago I was on the phone trying to figure out if I could finagle a discount (for The W Hotel) out of a Starwoods Hotel rep using every discount I could imagine from university discounts to hospital stays! LOL Nothing was getting the price below $179 and that was using AAA and changing to a different hotel (Westin) altogether. Well, I was led to go on Priceline and I started bidding at $65/night in a 4star hotel. It failed. Then I went down to a 3star hotel and bid $79.00 and it was accepted. To my amazement, I was booked for a 4star hotel and guess where it was ---- THE W HOTEL LAKESHORE! I literally jumped out of my bed and ran an excited lap around my apartment! WOW I'm really outdone! I just may NOT leave my hotel room! :o FYI - Dates of travel are 8/19-21 Happy Bidding! :)
  8. I went on PRICELINE and started bidding low - around 18 and worked my way up using 2 days worth of trying. Today I started bidding at $38/day and no one accepted but i got a counter offer for $43/day and decided I'd take the advice I read on here of bidding below the counter price. I plugged in $40 and got accepted. PRICELINE said that the average rental for the 3 days I needed were $307.47 (I paid $165.86). I think thats a good deal. I'd been surfing alot lately and checking prices (even with hefty discounts I had available) and counldnt come up with anything less than $53/day, which is simply rediculous. I saved 46% on PRICELINE today! YIPPEE!!! :) National Rent-a-Car 5/6-5/9, 2009
