  1. It doesn't appear that the Priceline List has been updated with Ramada as a 3* hotel -- rather, the list shows Ramada as a 2*. Glad I saw this post too, because I am NOT a fan of Ramada. That brand needs alot of improvement before I'll ever stay there again. Sorry about your misfortune, my friend!
  2. Looks like Travelodge LAX is now on the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals list with a 2.5 star hotel. Just sharing this tidbit of information with the board!
  3. I'd started working on a hotel 2 days ago started bidding at 150 and got up to 180 before I stopped, going in $5 increments. I came back yesterday and did the same thing, no luck. This afternoon around 5pm, I saw a 4* hotel going for $153/night...I should have taken that right then! I decided to wait thinking that it would be there when I returned. To my surprise, it was LONG gone and prices were hovering back in the mid $200s. I saw one for $180 and took it. This is a good hotel from what I see. Thanks to this board, I knew which hotel I was getting before I got it!
  4. Why don't you want to stay at the Vdara? I'm going next week, so I was disappointed to see that someone didn't like that spot. Can you give me any reasons why??? Thanks MaestroChris
  5. Currently Aria is the only 5* hotel with FREE PARKING AND FREE WIFI. So when you see that combo, think ARIA! Otherwise the full array is Swimming, Casino, Fitness, Free Parking, Free Wifi, and Business Center.
  6. Ok - forgive me because I did not start my purchase out on the board as I normally do. I have sinned... But I wanted to alert that I have gotten a hotel that may not be on the Pinned Hotel List for the area. I noticed that there is a Hilton Chicago O'Hare which is DIFFERENT than the Hilton Garden Inn O'Hare (North) which is what I won today. So I was hoping to inform the board so that this can be added to the list of participating hotels for the area. I did a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal and used the current 10% (24-hour sale coupon): QQB3RYE4, which saved me $12 and I got this great hotel for $124!!!! Thats half off what the hotel is running at online right now. #WINNING #BETTERBIDDING Thanks!!!
  7. Just giving the board a heads-up because I've been bidding for about 2 weeks with no success. I see the pl Express Deals are in the $200's so that may be a bad sign. So if you're in the process of bidding and seem like you're hitting a very high wall, you are NOT alone! lol
  8. I noticed that potential areas I'd use to rebid are now being blocked. Is this a new priceline feature to keep folks from rebidding (essentially) the same area over and over (as I have become accustomed to)? I'd be really upset if they've decided to build in this new programming. I noticed it while bidding on a NYC hotel -- I was just about to add a rebid zone of Queensborough bridge and its shaded out! Any news???
  9. I'm super excited about this win! Aloft is a BEAUTIFUL hotel and I've been waiting on the chance to stay there again! I started off bidding $40/night and was unsuccessful. I got a prompt that if I bid $46 that they could guarantee a win. I've learned not to obey that prompt...so I bid $43 instead and got this nice win! It will be a great 4th of July at Aloft!
  10. I would kindly submit that you not lock yourself into the idea that you're going to find a 4* hotel on SOBE under $150/night. While there may be slim chances, I recently went through the same process and thought I was going to be able to find a spot for under $150...I spent about 2 months bidding and rebidding only to eventually end up paying $180/night for Hotel Victor. I was bidding up until the day before my trip. One day, I was up to $220/night before I finally said "enough is enough." Honestly, if I had it to do over again, I'd choose a hotel on Miami Beach or even in the Aventura area...the hotels are much nicer, newer and less congested.
  11. I often open up two screens to dicipher what hotel I'm dealing with.... Open up a 2nd screen and instead of the name your own price feature, use a regular reservations screen. Select the features that you're currently trying to compare for...then see what Priceline reservations populates. It isnt 100% accurate, but you can get a good idea of what hotel you might be vying for.
  12. Won the Omni Hotel, its actually like my 3rd time winning this hotel. Its pretty nice and for $55/night ($70.90) after tax, that aint so shabby.
  13. Thanks for the feedback man! Sorry that I missed it initially -- we're in a whole new year! But you're right...I've had to travel to that area a few times and decided to stay in Pineville. I have seen that Day's Inn and the Baymont you mentioned. I've lucked up and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express 2 times now and it was actually pretty cool. Except, I caught the night front desk agent having some "fun" -- shall we say. LOL I guess when you're in a not-so-busy location, that kind of thing might happen.
  14. I'm definitely not excited nor happy about this win. I was hoping for a more traditional hotel, because these Shreveport Casinos hotel rooms are ALL outdated and in need of newer furnishings. Luckily this is only for one night -- I initially bid $50 -- they came back and said if you add $14 for this room, we'll let you re-bid. I went with it and got this sad excuse for a hotel. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just pay retail price for a SpringHill Suites or something. I hope my unfortunate loss will assist someone in making a better choice for this area. Too risky with so many bad hotels in the area. Go with a BRAND NAME!!
  15. Started bidding yesterday at 50...tried again tonight starting at 55 then at $62, when I won. This is a #3 hotel in the area. Looking forward to the stay!
  16. I had been bidding for several days trying to get a Hotel in Metairie, then moved on to MSY, then Convention Center, then French Quarter and finally Downtown. Bids didn't go through my first couple days bidding. I started at $55/night and I'd gotten up to $75 daily and never got a win. Then I finally waited until I was in the city and bid again, and started at 65 and worked my way up to $75 and ended up getting a nice spot at the JW Marriott. I purchased 4 rooms for 2 nights each. It was a great stay there! The ONLY bad part of this was the $35/night parking! SHEESH! yes, I used the PRICELINE links!
  17. Honestly, this hotel is not as nice as the website and pictures would have you to believe. This place is seriously in need of updating. The decor, furniture and facilities were probably chic and trendy back in 1980s, but DEFINITELY not in 2012, with places like Aloft Hotel and Hyatt Place on the rise. Although there are many convenient aspects to this hotel, its "niceness" and "beauty" should NOT be included in that assessment. Nonetheless, there were people who paid $1000 for their stay while I paid a mere $613 (with taxes, resort fees, etc included).
  18. I'd been bidding and rebidding over the last 4 days unsuccessfully and was JUST about to give up on South Beach Ocean Drive. I decided to try again tonight and won this hotel. While its not necessarily the highest ranked, it does appear to be a beautiful boutique hotel. So, what the heck, I'll give it a go. I started bidding several days ago at 150 and was up to 180. So I started today at 180 and accepted on the first time. AND YES, I USED THE PRICELINE links ...ugh! LOL Thanks!
  19. Aaron: Thanks for your reply man! Well I'm thinking like 50-60/night. Looking at either going Thursday or Sunday (14th/17th) and staying 2 days once I'm there. This new Courtyard Marriott hotel is officially the BEST hotel in town. It used to be the Holiday Inn Express...now IMAGINE THAT! LOL
  20. Hello friends: I'm having to go to Alexandria for a couple days and since I'm officially addicted to saving $$. Are there any other hotels other than Days Inn (yuck) that participate with Priceline in this area? I just called the Courtyard Marriott and asked them if they are a priceline partner. The agent seemed apprehensive but said that she has seen priceline customers. So just curious what other hotels might accept priceline rates. She also mysteriously cautioned that Priceline might charge me more for a stay there and suggested that I book a hotel with her. LOL Tips? Thoughts? Suggestions!? Thanks, MaestroChris
  21. Bid one time and got this hotel at $45 - $58 after tax. Good deal. Not sure if this hotel has free parking (based on the website) but this should be an interesting stay!
  22. First bid was $43 and NOT accepted. Rebid at $50 and got this place. Not necessarily excited about this win. Haven't been getting the best hotels lately...this one is slightly disappointing, but we'll see what happens once I get there.
  23. Successful bid! I started off at $40, they asked me to add $6 and they could retry the bid. So I did resulting in $46 win. Thanks! I love this site.
