  1. 4* Downtown/Lake Area Full Amenities: Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower $178 + taxes = $219.70 ~~ a significant savings over booking directly with the hotel.
  2. I went ahead and booked it using the Hotwire link on this site. It was the Kinzie. $220/night. Very happy. Good price and good location. Looking forward to my trip. Thanks so much for all the help id'ing.
  3. I was just about to give up on getting the potential Kinzie to show up...and then it finally did! Only the price now is $220/night. Do you think it's worth it over the potential Public?
  4. No matter what I search or on which computer, I can't seem to get that other 4* Mag Mile RN to show up. I'll probably keep watching and make a decision within a few days. Most likely will go with a RN option, though the possible Public looks good, I'm not sure I want to be that far up. Thanks for the help thus far.
  5. I'm searching on a Mac...would PC be better? I'll see if I can get it to appear.
  6. None of my previous trips to Chicago were booked through HOT.WIRE / PRICE.LINE as I was able to get decent rates directly with the hotels. I'm not seeing the listing you mention. I just searched again, and it still isn't coming up. That deal seems like it would be the best. Any suggestions on how to encourage that hotel to come up?
  7. I'll be in Chicago for work 11/4-11/8. This will be my 4th trip to Chicago this year, and each time I've stayed at different hotels because of pricing. I've been very fortunate to pick up great deals at fabulous hotels the other times. I'll be working near the Tribune building, so anything within a mile or less from there would be good. Everywhere I've stayed and liked previously is way expensive right now. Ideally I'll find a nice hotel for less than $200/night, but I'd go up to $225-$250 if it's a really fabulous hotel. An additional side note is that while I'm working, my husband is joining me for 3 days and he won't be working. It will be his first time in Chicago. Searching Hotwire, I'm seeing the following options. Please help me in id'ing these properties: 4* - Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower - $149/nt: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower 4* - Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower - $231/nt: friendly, Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower 4.5* - Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower - $250/nt: pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access 4* - Magnificent Mile Area - River North - $183/nt: Boutique Hotel, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services 4* - Chicago Loop - Theater District - $205/nt: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower Thanks for the help!
  8. Purchased using the Hotwire link and it was The Lexington. Price before taxes/fees was $233/night. Thanks for the help in id'ing this property!! Very excited for our trip to NYC :D
  9. The MTE option looks pretty good, and definitely better on the budget. I'm seeing it listed today still for $231 - will most likely go for it. I'll report back. Thanks for the advice.
  10. I'm taking my daughters to NYC 8/30-9/1 and can't figure out which will be the best area(s) to bid on hotwire for our hotel. We will see a show on broadway and do other touristy things. I'd like to be centrally located, want a nice hotel, but can't break the bank (already purchased tickets for our family of 4 to see Wicked while in town). I'd love to keep the hotel under $300/night (before taxes). Prefer a 4* or better hotel. Kids have never been to NYC so I'd like them to get the full experience. I know I can't bid on PRICELINE, because I need a double room or king with pull-out sofa. On Hot.wire, which areas should I be bidding for the best hotel at the best price? Times Square, Midtown Central, Midtown East? Anything I should try to avoid? I've run the searches and there are so many options. Your boards have always been helpful in the past, so I thought I'd ask here. Once I know what to look for, I'll bid using the link here. Thanks!!
  11. Just realized I never followed up this thread. Ended up getting a good rate through a friend for a room at Mandalay Bay for this trip. Apologies for not following up originally.
