  2. oh sorry, August 16-19 2009 3 nights thanks again
  3. Hi, I dont this on the list...I am really looking for Sheraton Safari...I want to play it safe, can anyone help with this please? Lake Buena Vista 3* $42 showing 08/01 9 pm eastern time pool, business center, high speed internet I am usually good at identifying but the ones I see in this zone have restaurants too, this is only showing three amenities Thanks!
  4. I live near orlando four points is decent, great views dont try to get Enclave its a dump doubletree is ok but i think they charge you for parking ($12 a night maybe still?) it is right across the street from Universal. i think the hyatt is too, but There is nothing else around. I found it very dull. crown plaza is nice, little boring for me wyndham resort on I-drive is awesome the pool never closes! one of my favorites. I stayed there for $45 w-tax twice last year through priceline was not disappointed. the rooms with the hardwood floors are remodeled (in the back) and very nice the landscaping is beautiful too... bring soda though i think a coke was 2 bucks at the vending machine, they actually took credit cards ha ha they went up in star level for a while...well worth it. it is in a happening area too. clarion is not bad I like it if you can get it for $35 its right next to the wet n wild waterpark you can get a room that the slider opens out to the pool the employees are really helpful and nice personally when I stay, I get a room on I-drive it is always happening these are all 3*-3.5* im goin next month, maybe a 4 star i need a vacation. I dont want stuffy though... good luck have fun!!
  5. Husband needed to go to court for a speeding ticket. He's a trucker, unfortunately he did not get a load (from Orlando Fl) Had to book last minute, last night. I am not familiar with Houston..so I warned him that I would be goin into uncharted waters..LOL But..thanks to you and my "skills" I did ok. yes, of course I used "our" PRICELINE link. :) First tried package deal..flight and hotel. The round trip w/ doubletree went for $443.00 Lousy hotel in boondocks w/ roundtrip went for $284.00 Decided to bid on a flight. Lowest price was $263.00 w/taxes on Priceline and USAirways. Bid, $150.00 Priceline countered at $175.00 I agreed. Total was $220.00 w/ taxes for airfare (saved $43.00) Started opening bid of $45.00 (copied past posts) took 5 rebid zones to get it at $55.00 that was my last offer by the way!! Total came to $136.00 for two nights w/ taxes. I think I seen this hotel on Hotwire for $89 plus tax... So the round trip with *3 hotel (2 nights) came out to roughly $355.00 saved almost a hundred bucks bidding separately, for same package offered through Priceline in "package deals" again for $443.00 Now I could have went for cheaper hotel ..than used difference for rent-a car..to stay in budget. But I went for downtown hotel, (he could just take a bus, and or walk to court) get a better room and be right around the area. What i did not realize is that this Hotel did not offer free airport shuttle service (Hobby Airport)...that sucks cuz MOST do. So I found out that the Metro Bus is only $1.25 each way and it drops off a couple blocks away from hotel. Normal shuttle is almost $40.00 round trip. I would have bid on a different area, with *2 hotel and got a car, had I known this. But the good side is they do offer free shuttle to downtown area...so he get's a free ride to the courthouse. Also, i think for the average price this hotel should be offering something, free breakfast, pool, something. It is clearly a business hotel. With the swine flu about,...better to stay in a cleaner (hopefully) hotel nowadays. I am not estatic, but all in all. I am genuinely pleased. But I also know i could have MAYBE done a little better if I had more time. I also reminded husband to take advantage stock up on those free choc chip cookies they give out. LOL
  6. my personal favorite lake buena vista..hotels on hotel blvd;best western, hilton, royal ect..you can walk to pleasure island (downtown disney) nice and CLEAN, and Safe area. shuttles abundant. cookes of dublin is outside Raglin road in pleasure island ...excellent fish and chips..the best bread pudding i have ever tasted in my life. it is much cheaper than eating inside and it is the same food!! seating is first come first serve. you can then go inside and watch the irish gal dancing a jig on the tables. fun. I drive south happening area, plenty to do. clean and safe. great restaurants i would not go to wonderworks though. waste of money i only say this cuz i went last year, and a lot of the games were broken..i emailed for some sort of refund, and got no answer back at all. go to disneyquest. stayed at wyndham..great hotel. holiday inn resort...awesome.get tower room facing i drive with BIG window. clarion is nice, crown plaza is nice, ramada lakeside, nice enclave..nasty ANY quality inn..dirty I drive north near universal is nice...but there really isnt anything in walking distance. expect to drive everywhere. celebration the street is so busy, you really can't walk anywhere. crappier hotels, except Holiday maingate east which was actually pretty nice, stayed there. ask for building one/ 3rd floor overlooking pool w/balcony...Medieval times in there. great show..we always have a blast. I seem to get the same or better deal staying on i drive than I would near disney maingate. it is also better maintained in my opinion. if you get a chance Blue man group (Universal) was sooooo awesome. Highly recommend it for all ages. AAA has tickets sometimes for $44 well worth the money. i also joined TGIF club. they keep sending me buy one get one free dinners. there are a lot of them on I drive. There is also a salad bar place called Sweet Tomatos off I drive...best salad bar/pasta bar around...excellent! clean, fresh, beats any buffet in my opinion around. have fun..
  7. Embassy was ok. very nice pool area, but although says heated was too cold to swim (april 19) no jacuzzi. breakfast was pretty good, full hot buffet. free cocktails and drinks from 530 -730. the room was clean, nothing to write home about though. atrium was very beautiful. we parked on the street. free parking all day sunday. put 2 dollars in the meter monday morning at 8 am...checked out by 10 so we saved $16 parking fee. lake eola park was very beautiful, right around the corner. you can"t go wrong with the marriott....good for you that's still an awesome deal right downtown!! i also seen Restaurant.com has a very decent rest's in there. Embassy, in my opinion is a solid *3. i ask for a nice view, but had a view of a roof..probably cuz i booked with priceline..but thats ok..it was worth it.
  8. Ok, I was ready for a battle, actually I really thought I was going to get the Sheraton and perhaps had to go a bit higher. Funny thing is their rates are higher than the Sheraton! I did not see this hotel on the Priceline list. I started with the one bid $41 won Check-In Date: Sunday, April 19, 2009 Check-Out Date: Monday, April 20, 2009 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $41.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.64 (USD) Total Room Cost: $53.64 (USD) Even comes with free breakfast. Awesome. Joe Cocker is playing right around the corner that night....no driving!!! Parking is $12..but we will be pulling up on our motorcycle. another $12 savings..unless they want to valet the harley. I used this PRICELINE link by the way too. Thanks!
