  1. I did make the reservation for Sep 2nd. I booked two rooms. It was not "Banff hidden ridge resort" which I was trying to confirm. The property is : 2.5-star hotel in Banff Tunnel Mountain Resort Amenities: Resort, suite, 1br suite, fitness center, pool, front desk, 24 hr front desk, golf nearby, condo Hotel rate per night: $89.00 Nights: 1 Rooms: 2 Tax recovery charges and fees: $27.02 Total Price : $205.02 I made the above search for 3 adults and 1 child I would appreciate it if anyone has stayed at this property and can give me some feedback. It is rated #14 on TA. I used the HOTWIRE link on this website. Thanks for all the good work you guys do!
  2. Just booked my airline ticket, so my plans are as firm as they will get. I am coordinating with another family from NY, so here are the plans: Arrive in Calgary, Sep 1, stay 1 night Stay in Banff, Sep 2, 1 night (there was change in the plan here) Stay in Jasper, Sep 3-4, 2 nights Stay in Banff, Sep 5, 1 night If this condo is a match for "Banff Hidden Ridge Resort", then I would be ready to make a non-refundable booking.
  3. Any idea what this is? Is this ' Banff Hidden Ridge Resort'? thank you!
  4. Here are all the amenities: this listing now comes up for $96/night. Resort Suite 1-Bedroom Suite Fitness Center Pool(s) Front Desk 24-hour Front Desk Golf Nearby condo Thanks!
  5. Here are the dates based on which I am looking for hotels. Arrive in Calgary : Sep 1 (stay in Calgary) Stay in Banff: two nights. Sep 2 and Sep 3 Looking for hotels in Banff for these two nights. Looking for two rooms, 4 adults, 1 child Banff area Condo - 2.5* comes up for $89 condo, resort, suite, 1br suite, fitness center, pool, front desk, 25 hr front desk Found the following description that is close to the above on this forum: 2.5* Banff Hidden Ridge Resort Amenities: Condo, 1BR, Shuttle, Kitchen, Free Parking, Front Desk This is rated #1 on tripadvisor and the rates are $200+ on Expedia and so forth. Just curious if I mistaken or this is indeed the match. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the prompt response. The likely dates are four nights starting Sep 2. We will most likely arrive late Sep 2 and will stay in Calgary. In Banff most likely Sep 3-4.
  7. Hello, I will be visiting the Banff area with friends the first week of Sep. I am trying to find out if the following hotel on hotwire ($96/night) has been identified: Banff area Condo - 2.5* condo, resort, suite, 1br suite, fitness center, pool, front desk, 25 hr front desk On the hotel list in this forum, I find the following hotel coming up close to a match. 2.5* Banff Hidden Ridge Resort Amenities: Condo, 1BR, Shuttle, Kitchen, Free Parking, Front Desk Is the listing on hotwire Banff Hidden Ridge resort? If it is, is it the same hotel that is listed #1 on tripadvisor. Thank you! lakrv
  8. There is an error in the title now...Desert Rose is a '3* near East' not 5* central strip, which was what I was originally looking for.
  9. After a lot of going back and forth, weighing different options, trying both priceline bids as well as hotwire, I made my hotel reservations as follows: 9/18-9/20 - 2 nights: using the HOTWIRE link on this site 9/20-9/21 - 1 night: Bellagio, Deluxe Lakeview Room, 2 queens via the hotel's website (thanks to TripAdvisor, found link to a promotion). The Desert Rose Resort - 1 Bedroom Condo 4 adults Hotwire hot Rate of $59.00/night (since these are weekend dates, the rates were quite high elsewhere) Hotel :$118.00 Tax and fees:$19.25 Total price::$137.25 3 Star condo near strip east 1-Bedroom Suite Fully-equipped Kitchen Complimentary Breakfast Free Parking Fitness Center Pool(s) Front Desk Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby The rate on the hotel's website is $95. I wondered if I should get a 2 bedroom (not available on hotwire), but it seemed like getting two one bedrooms via hotwire at $59/night would be cheaper than getting a two bedroom. Thanks so much for all your prompt responses and thanks to this site, I had a good guess ahead of time what property the room will be in.
  10. I am considering going with Trump. However, that does not come up on HOTWIRE when I enter more than 2 people for the room. Does anyone know if it comes with a sofabed as well? Also, since I am considering using PRICELINE as well, I am curious to know how you enter the number of people per room in there? Is there an option for that or do you just enter the number of rooms? My apologies if I should be posting this on the priceline forum. thanks!
  11. The 4.5-star hotel in Near Strip East is available again, don't know why it disappeared briefly. If I enter 4 adults, I am assuming that 4 people will be able to sleep in the room. I am asking this because regardless of the number of people (2 or 4), the rate remains the same: $159
  12. Thanks again! For some reason, the 4.5 star property which was identified as Signature at MGM grand, is no longer available. I will keep looking for deals.
  13. Thanks for the response. When I change the number of occupants to 3 adults or 3 adults + 1 child, Wynn is not available anymore (no five star properties available). The following is available instead: 4.5 star hotel in Near Strip East Amenities Resort Suite Casino Smoke Free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Kitchenette Spa Services What property is the above? I was hoping for Wynn as I have heard great things about it, which unfortunately is unavailable when I change the number of occupants. Is it possible to go with Wynn for two adults and then call the hotel to request two queen beds?
  14. Hello, we will be 3 adults + 1 child (11 yrs) in Vegas for 3 nights from 9/18-9/21. I was looking at the following on hotwire- 5*, central strip: Amenities: Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services $156/night, $528.51 total I am guessing that the above would be Wynn. Could someone confirm that? Also, how can I make sure we get two queen beds in the room? Is that possible? I did the above search based on two adults, but I don't want to end up with one bed. In addition to the above total, am I likely to get hit with other charges when I get to the hotel? (I don't intend to park, and I don't mean tips) I am also curious to know why people seem opposed to getting the Trump international? Is there any particular reason? I have never been to Vegas, so I would appreciate all the help and suggestions. Thank you!
  15. After much googling and researching, I did end up buying the 6+1 day Londonpass (without travel). Most people advised against it, but as a first time visitor, I decided not to worry about losing some of the dollars and go ahead anyway. I am interested in getting into some of the attractions listed anyway and I didn't want to wait in line. Plus, the entry fees seemed to add up to more than what they were charging for the pass. Whether or not I get to go to all of those places remains to be seen. "London walks" seems to have good reviews, so I may do one or more of their tours (I am thinking of taking the one to Oxford). May be I am being overambitious, but that is the plan for now. Hopefully, I will catch a couple of theatre shows as well while I am there. I am planning to buy an oyster pass upon arrival - from what I have understood so far, I can get 7 day unlimited travel loaded on to it.
  16. Once again, thanks for all the tips. Currently, I am battling with the decision of getting an oyster pass pay as you go or a London pass with travel card for the week I am there. I wonder if there is too much analysis over which one is better and if I should just get the London Pass, as it covers both travel as well as entry to major attractions. If anyone here has some insight, I would greatly appreciate suggestions.
  17. Thanks Romelle, for the additional information. I am really happy with the price. However, you will find on this forum that the lowest price for these dates were around $46, which I missed by procrastinating a bit. The hotel had good reviews on TripAdvisor, so I am glad I finally went ahead. This is my first trip to London, so I am a bit anxious, but I hope to make the most of it.
  18. I just made my hotel reservation using the site's HOTWIRE link: As expected (thanks to this site), I was awarded the following hotel: Express By Holiday Inn London - Earl's Court 5/24/09 - 5/30/09 Hotel rate per night - Hotwire Rate per night:$49.00 Nights:6 SubTotal: $294.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$56.89 Total price: $350.89 1 room, 2 adults I will be travelling alone, but I left it as '2 adults" as the rate was the same; hope there will be no extra charge. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, High-speed Internet Access I decided to alter my schedule a bit to get this low rate. The rates are higher after the 30th and before the 24th. The priceline air+hotel vacation package was slightly cheaper (just about $15) but I decided to book my ticket directly through the airline to get the miles. Thanks again to this website and everyone who responded to my post!
  19. For some reason, each time I posted my response, I got an error message. I tried to post my reply three times thinking it didn't post...sorry, I see my response posted multiple times. Still new and learning! My apologies.
  20. I tried splitting my dates a few days ago and the rates seem to spike around certain dates (May 22nd), but was lower between 5/25-5/30. The average was still lower around $59. Hotwire rates today when dates are split: 5/22-5/25 = $136 5/25-5/30 drops to $49 5/30-5/31 = $126 Rate for 5/22 -5/31 without date split $65 The rates seem to change slightly each time I check, so I will decide soon. Thanks again!
  21. Hello, I am new to this forum and this is my first post. First of all, I have been browsing this forum for sometime and am grateful for all the valuable information available here. Thank you! I am thinking about travelling to London in May; I have been looking for hotel deals for a 9 night stay, 5/22-5/31. Based on prior posts on this forum and reviews on tripadvisor, I was looking at the following in hotwire: 2.5* London (Kensington-Chelsea-Knightsbridge) which I believe is "express by Holiday Inn - Earl's court". The best rate I have found for these dates so far is $ 59 ($46 if my dates changed to 5/25-5/30), which I am kicking myself for not taking. The hotwire rate has been creeping up slowly the past couple of days and is around $65 now. Alternatively, I have also been looking at vacation packages (air+hotel) for the airline + hotel of my choice (NWA+Holiday Inn Exp - Earl's ct). The package price is comparable to what I would pay if I bought the airline ticket separately and booked my hotel via hotwire. I thought this was a better option as there was no guesswork as to the hotel I would be awarded. Again, with my waiting, the price has gone up since yesterday. Question: Does the price on hotwire only move in one direction (up) or does it ever drop? I prefer to say at this hotel because of its relative price advantage and reviews. I am wondering if I would ever see the $59 per night price again. thanks
