  1. Bid $70 for the Rancho Mirage-Indian Wells-Palm Desert region and got a counterbid of $90, which I passed on. Added Indio and bid $75, which was declined. Added Palm Springs region and raised the bid to $80, which was accepted. Based on other forum experience, this is the property I expected and I look forward to the stay.
  2. Needed overnight rooms in Calgary before an early morning flight back home. Began bidding on 4* rooms downtown at $70 and raised in steps, adding other neighborhoods which lacked 4* hotels. At $70, received a counteroffer of $90, which I ignored. $82 bid was accepted. Total price for two rooms with tax is $192.48. The best offer on the hotel website for prepaid, non-refundable reservations was $116 plus taxes. I accessed the PRICELINE website via the button on this site.
  3. Needed an overnight room in Calgary to gather our group before heading to the Rockies. Began bidding on 4* rooms downtown at $65 and raised by $5, adding other neighborhoods which lacked 4* hotels. At $80, received a counteroffer of $100, which I ignored. $85 bid was accepted. Total price for two rooms with tax is $199.28. The best offer on the hotel website for prepaid, non-refundable reservations was $116 plus taxes. I accessed the PRICELINE website via the button on this site.
  4. I began bidding this evening at $65 for a 4* hotel Downtown/Harbor Island and raised by $5 increments, adding neighborhoods that don't have 4* properties. Bid was finally accepted at $90. I used the button on this website to access PRICELINE.com.
  5. I used the button from this site to access PRICELINE, then bid $85 for a resort in the Rancho Mirage - Indian Wells - Palm Desert area. The bid was accepted immediately, putting me in the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort. Probably I should have begun lower. Still, quite a discount from the rack rate.
  6. That's correct. The AMEX $25 program provides $100K primary coverage for damage and theft, including loss of use, as well as $100 K for death/dismemberment, $5K personal property (secondary) and $15K for secondary medical. No mention of liability coverage. I'm guessing that state laws vary as to the relative liability of the car owner and the car renter.
  7. I called America PRICELINE EXPRESS about this today, since I previously signed up for the premium rental car insurance which is effective (at $24.95 a pop) whenever the computer see a charge from Hertz, Budget, etc. This insurance is primary. I asked whether their system will recognize a Priceline rental as qualifying under the insurance policy. Their answer was that Priceline rentals do qualify but that the documentation needs to be generated manually by the Amex insurance office. They requested that I notify them in advance, giving the rental date, location and whatever, so that they can log in the coverage. While the phone number on the back of the Amex card will work, it is faster to call the insurance office directly, 1-800-338-1670.
  8. After looking over the prior postings, I bid $40 for 2.5* at Denver airport on August 12; bid was rejected. On August 13 I tried again at $45 and bid was accepted. Fees/taxes are $9.05/room. The best price available to me through the Marriott website was the AAA rate of $89 plus $13.22 fees/taxes. I accessed PRICELINE via the button on betterbidding.com. This really is a valuable website!
  9. Based upon prior postings, I bid $40 for 2.5* at Denver airport on August 12; bid was rejected. On August 13 I tried again at $45 and bid was accepted. Fees/taxes are $9.05/room. Fairfield Inn is still listed on this website as a 2* property. I'm pleased, because Fairfield Inn was actually my preference and the best price available to me through the Marriott website was the AAA rate of $89 plus $13.22 fees/taxes. I accessed PRICELINE via the button on betterbidding.com.
  10. Tried a bid of $45 for 4* downtown Minneapolis on April 22 and was turned down. Tried $50 a day later and received a counteroffer of $64, which I accepted. I used the button at this site to access PRICELINE.
  11. The dates are 2/8/10 - 2/10/10. Thanks for cleaning this up for me.
  12. First bid $67 for 3.5* in Pasadena and was turned down. Added Monrovia-Duarte (since there are no 3.5*s there) and raised to $70 - accepted. Priceline's no-bid rate for this hotel is $169. I used the button on this site to get to the PRICELINE site.
  13. I entered the PRICELINE site via the button on this site and bid for two rooms for one night at $35@. The bid was immediately accepted. Checking the Marriott web site with the confirmation numbers, I see that the rooms are described as 1 bedroom 2 room suite, 1 Queen, Sofabed with fully equipped kitchen.
  14. I entered the Priceline site via the button on this site and bid for two rooms for one night at $35@. The bid was immediately accepted for 9/17-18 and then, repeating the process, for 9/24-25.
  15. This is my first time on Priceline. I started bidding yesterday at $55 for 4* SFO, then $60 adding San Mateo, then $65 adding South San Francisco. Came back 24 hr later and bid 4* SFO at $70, which was accepted. My 3* backup refundable reservation was $129, so this was a worthwhile experience. I entered the Priceline site by clicking on the link from this site.
